Today:
- kids to school
- hang out some washing, do the usual housework (oh yeah)
- sew the back of Griffin's quilt and try joining all three layers together! (Front, middle padding and Back)
- not sure what else, probably have a nap!
10am and I've finised sewing the back sections together, I've washed the garage floor so I can lay it all out (need lots of room!).. and now I'm off to the Patchwork Class to double check I am doing it right BEFORE I go and iron all the layers together! I would KILL MYSELF if I did it wrong now!
Been to class, got clear and precise instructions on what to do next.... and have spent the last 2 hours ironing the padding to the back, now have to do the top.... it's a long process to get it right, but GET IT RIGHT I will!
Oh man have I ever got a backache now! Got to go get the kids shortly and all I feel like doing is having a nap... anyone want 2 kids for the afternoon? PRETTY PLEASE!.... NO? Oh well I will just have to hope they are quiet so I can cat-nap on the couch!
CARO: tis a shame indeed you live so far away... *sob*
It is now nearly 6 weeks since my operation(s)... and I am finally feeling like a drink of DIET COKE again.... oh it is bliss to have a drink I love and not have it come right back up again! I have only had a few sips but ... it is DEVINE.
End Of Day: got lots done again... Oh I am loving being busy again and feeling 'up to it' too. This evening I have been sewing the kids names on their new school uniforms... I got them delivered from Auckland so that they can both start on their first day at their new school in the correct uniform. It will make them feel 'normal' and not so different from the other kids I hope. I hope they settle in ok, but we will probably have two upset kids for a few days, poor little buggers.
NSV: DIET COKE ROCKS.... thank god I can drink it again! nite nite.
Well, isn't that the cutest doggie!

Now you can teach me how to use iron on batting haha. Griffin's quilt is going to be beautiful. Teddy.. wow, doesnt he scrub up well. Rather gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI was up till LATE LATE finishing my challenge quilt but really pleased with it and excited to see it hanging next weekend at the show. This is an addiction but what a fun addiction to have.. no side effects!!
If we lived close, I would gladly take those two kids.
ReplyDeleteMy kids are tired of summer and need playmates. It would be the perfect solution all around.

One thing I miss the most being here is my quilting classes! I used to love them so much just to relax!!! Wah!
ReplyDeleteHey Chris! 24?? Here you've been waiting forever and now it's so close!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the Diet Coke! It is nice to have that favorite beverage, I am sure!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly did a lot of work - getting that quilt ironed together had to have taken a lot of time and effort and bending! I do like the idea of putting it on the garage floor to work on it though. I have been playing with the idea of making a comforter cover for our king sized bed and haven't had a clue where to put it to work on it! Now I know!
congrats on your diet coke return! well done!
