OUT 'N' ABOUT

We have a long weekend ahead.  Monday is a holiday to mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth ll.

Sunday at 2 am we wind our clocks forward AGAIN for daylight saving.  Such a pain in the butt.  I wish they would stick with the daylight saving time for good, and stop dicking us around every 6 months by changing it.  I can remember when Daylight saving only lasted about 4 months, not 6.

We are off on a day trip today.

Heading north to Auckland.

We want to have a stroll on a beach.

Then look in the mall (Sylvia Park), maybe pop into Ribbon Rose in Mt Wellington (fabric shop)  and just have a chill out day.

So... there will be photos, LATER.

... it took exactly one hour to arrive at Sylvia Park from our home! Amazing.

First stop was Ribbon Rose:

ABOVE: I found a few fabrics I could use, and was given a free calendar. Useless as its OLD.

ABOVE: Look at all the wool Bex.. 😀😂😉.

We are now at Taco Bell, Sylvia Park  having brunch.

Stew sat down and crushed his finger on his seat... the seat was broken!

ABOVE: LUCKILY  he didn't break the skin.

Well... brunch was lovely... except for the finger incident.

We are now on the North Shore. I found a little Fabric and Yarn shop in Birkenhead  ...

ABOVE: I found some gorgeous kiwiana fabrics there. The shop specialises in them. Awesome selection.

Now.. off to Devonport.

Above: only in Auckland... that man was playing the  Bagpipes while driving!!!!

And where the hell is everyone today? I'm still BLOGGING WHILE OUT N ABOUT! Pfffft.

ABOVE: We have eaten here before.  Its amazing

ABOVE: We took the ferry from Devonport to the central city. Wandered around the viaduct area. Lots of people around.  A neat atmosphere.

ABOVE: It was lovely out on the water. The weather has been very kind to us too.

ABOVE: Movenpick in Mission Bay. Best ever ice creams.

5.55 pm:  And we are safely home again.  There is a lot of traffic on the roads today, being a long weekend it was to be expected.

Tomorrow we had planned on going over to Tauranga, but have decided to stay home and get a couple of jobs done around the yard and house.

But for right now, it's relax time.  It's been a really lovely day.

9.45 pm:  Silly bugger dinner tonight.  Bits of this 'n' that.  Time to think about getting into bed, super early but I'm tired.

  6. aH YES, I have been out and about today. Found out there is a beginners Tai Chi class nearby - so hubby and I went to that. It was easy to do, most of it in chairs as it is geared for the older folk. Didn't know that when we went. But hey - I could do it! So I might go back. Then Collie dog had a MASSIVE groom. It took 4 hours! He insisted on standing the entire time and would not sit down, so she had to give him a break half way through. No idea why he was such a mess this time. And then there was Happy Hour with the Girls! So, twas a fun and busy day. Well.... the collie might disagree about the "fun" part.
