LOOK AT THAT

 I couldn't help myself.

I bought a Kerosene Lamp off TradeMe.

It will sit in the lounge, to tie in with the new print we bought the other day.

ABOVE:  It is used, but in very good condition.  And the best thing?  Cheap.  I looked on Ebay and OMG, the prices on there were crazy!  Hundreds of dollars.  This one was under $40, and that included P & P.

Fingers crossed I will get an installation date for the vinyl today.   I was told I would be rung yesterday with that information, but for the 3rd or 4th time, Carpet Court has let me down.

ABOVE:  I saw this on Facebook... and I just laughed my head off.  I know exactly WHO that miserable cow is.

Sometimes I feel a little bit evil... but not often.

Stew would normally be off to Rotorua today, but he's home with me.

Which isn't always a good thing, for HIM.  lol  Poor man, he's right there at my beck and call.

Yesterday I decided to re-arrange my sewing room.  So he had to help move shit.

ABOVE:  Today my job is in here.  There was a good reason for doing this... and I will show you what it was, once it's sorted out.

ABOVE:  Coco does this EVERY TIME Stew sits down.  It's so damn cute, but sometimes annoying too.  He really does not get a moments peace.
Though I think he loves having both girls on his lap most of the time.  Except when it's really hot in summer.  Then Coco begs even more cos she's shoo'ed off more often.
Summer is coming Coco!  Yesterday we got up to 20 degrees C.  I ended up in a t-shirt and 3/4'er tights.

9.51 am:  And I went out to the garage first thing this morning to OMG... an ANT INVASION!  They were EVERYWHERE.  So I emptied 2 canisters of insect killer, then went to the supermarket and spent over $80 on ant bait stations, and crawling insect killer.

Now our garage reeks of insecticide.  And it's dripping all over with sprayed on ant killer.

Once everything is out of there (in a couple of months hopefully), I will have to give all the walls and contents a good clean.
Far out... that's gunna be a mission and a half.  The little bastards even got into the 2nd fridge!

Now that's done, I can get on with what I had on my agenda today.  The sewing room.

And shock horror!  Instagram and Facebook are down.  Not that it bothers me too much right now.  I'm sure both will be back later on in the day.

My mission today was inspired by our NOT wanting to 'get rid' of any furniture.
We have a new lounge suite coming sometime next year, so had to find places for what we already had.

Luckily, we could fit all the brown suite in the sunroom, and all 4 Laz-Y-Boy recliners in the lounge.
That just left the two seater that matched the Laz-Y-Boys.

Brylee was keen on having it, but she has nowhere to put it, and we certainly didn't want it sitting in our back shed or garage for potentially months/years.

Then I had an idea... the ONLY place in the house it MIGHT fit was the sewing room.
Which meant Stew and I carried it in there last night, and me juggling things around today to see if it would fit in there.

ABOVE:  And it does.  And I still have plenty of room to work.

ABOVE:  My 'work station'.

ABOVE: I still have a very nice view from where I sit and sew.

ABOVE:  And there is plenty of room at the back of the room to do the ironing, fabric sorting and so on.

I had a little mishap while sorting/moving shit around, and ended up with a couple of ceramic bowls falling down on me face.  I've got a nice little egg on me eyebrow!  But I'm feeling very lucky they didn't smash and cut me.
I do feel a bit woozy now though, so am going to take a break, get some painkillers and just chill out for a while.

I don't think 'chilling out' helped my head much today.
When I was spraying all around the garage this morning I ended up vomiting from the fumes.  Then dinging me head ... well let's just say it ruined my day. I've felt out of sorts and kinda ill ever since.
I am hoping I feel much better tomorrow.
So, catch ya tomorrow.

  3. Your ant invasion might mean rain. Often you'll get inundated when they're on the move. Horrid little things!

Yah, you probably asphyxiated yourself with the bug spray. I do that with cleaning supplies sometimes, use too much, vomit, get a headache, and then have to slog through to finish the task. Gah!!

Here is wishing you a better day today!! XO, Ky Girl

  14. OMG - you did have a rough sort of day. I was thinking that seat in the sewing room might be a cozy spot to contemplate your projects. I think it's a good addition to the space.
