I talked to Carpet Court yesterday about the installation date for our vinyl.
'B' assured me it was booked for the 12th of October, BUT, he was trying to change that to the 11th to fit in better with other jobs.
He assured me that he would confirm the date by 'lunchtime today'... that day being YESTERDAY.
And yet again. I did not hear back from him.
I am so goddam over that company! Well, the Hamilton branch anyway.
I have now been waiting nearly three weeks for them to give me a date for installation. They keep telling me a date, then changing it. They keep saying 'We will ring you back', but never do.
If I believed their first date, the vinyl would be in the house tomorrow or Friday. Now it's Monday or Tuesday.
It is so annoying, because I have to line up the Plumber to come in the morning, disconnect the toilets, then come back in the afternoon to install the new toilets and vanities.
I think what gets me the MOST though, is their complete lack of communication. I have had to ring, and go into the shop in person for answers.
Seriously angry now. I've tried to be very polite and not show my frustration (and anger), but I think if I don't hear back from 'B' by 4.30 this afternoon, he's gunna get it, FULL GUNS BLAZING.
I wonder if it's too late to demand my deposit back, and go somewhere else? It's damn tempting.
This morning I'm going to try and make some sense of all that's piled up in the garage, and clear some of the dead ants away . And put ant baits in strategic places.
I think I'd rather contend with bloody cockroaches over thousands of ants! What about you?
9 am: I woke feeling totally blah.
Stew and I both feel like we have aged heaps this past year and a half... we've had so much going on that has stressed us out.
OF COURSE, the entire world is going through Covid, and millions of people are stressed out.
But given that, we have been under a lot of pressure and stress, and it's showing.
So, I woke with the mindset to put me face on, even though I'm only cleaning the garage today! lol
ABOVE: That's better! AND YES, I used the filter on me phone too! Anything to make me feel better. And guess what?
Makeup covered up me mild black eye too.
So, if ya feeling a bit blah... put ya face on.
ABOVE: OK... so that's with NO FILTERS. I still think I don't look too bad?
ABOVE: Next blah booster, get ya hair titivated.
ABOVE: Done. Feeling pretty.
1 pm: And I finally caved and rung Carpet Court AGAIN. Clearly he wasn't gunna ring me.
AND, we have good news at last.
The vinyl will be going down on Tuesday.
AND, the carpet should be here soon too! OMG I nearly cried.
Such a sad git... but I am really finding it hard to live with shit all over the place and out of order.
I do believe I have a 'touch' of OCD as everyone tells me. ๐๐๐
I'm sewing this afternoon. A table runner that is utterly LOUD!
ABOVE: I'm enjoying it, it's an easy, relaxing one to do.
This afternoon could not be going better!
I heard directly from the lady who organises the installation of flooring for Carpet Court.
We are a BIG FAT GO for Tuesday morning for our vinyl.
AND .... we have a possibility of two dates for the carpet install.
One is next WESNESDAY, and if that doesn't work out, it's a DEFINITE GO for November the 3rd.
I am thrilled to bits. It would be wonderful if the carpet could be done next Wednesday, of course, but I'm happy to wait until November 3rd too.
Just having definite dates is all I wanted.
ABOVE: I went down to the local supermarket for juice and peanuts.
YEAH.
Then I drove across the road to the chemist to get a couple of things there. I was at the counter about to pay when someone said...
"There's a small blue car on fire in the carpark!".
Mine is a small blue car. Shit! Might be mine.
So I go outside and see this:
So... thankfully not my car, but fairly close to my car. So I moved it out of the way. There were several men who ran over with fire extinguishers and they managed to keep it under control till the fire brigade arrived.
USUALLY cars do not 'blow up' in this situation, they just burn out. We had a car catch fire years ago and it just burnt out, no explosion. That only happens in the movies. Or in high impact accidents.
So, a little bit of excitement to end the day!
10.20 pm: Right... we had a lovely dinner, followed by (ooops), ice cream. I'm now happily watching Coronation Street before I head off to bed.
I had recent problems with Noel Leeming. A courier item went missing on day one and it took a month to get a replacement even though NZPost acknowledge the loss and said they'd pay Noel Leeming for the product. I got so frustrated!!! Yes, makeup can perk you up. Today is a makeup day for me I think, I have a click and collect from The Warehouse and perhaps might even pop into a supermarket.
You have had a hell of a year but hopefully things are on the up now.
I must admit, I even put on "nice" clothes including boots with a heel & make up last Friday. All I was doing was going into the office to sort & scan some paper & do 2 food pick ups but after weeks in workout gear (not that the amount of workout gear wearing in any way symbolises the amount of actual workouting I have done), it was nice to feel a bit dressed up. I may even do it again tomorrow to pick Samyson up from MIQ- although his release time is 8.15am so probably not to be honest :-)
You look beautiful. I had a problem with ants so I put raid ๐ killer in plastic bottles in the garden by my kitchen. ๐ took it back to their nests. Touch wood I haven't seen one for over a year. Kj
Just a suggestion, as the carpet is coming much earlier than you expected, would it not be possible to arrange for the vinyl and the carpet to be installed on the same day - one lot of interruption only. We did that when we had our's installed and the toilets and vanities all on the same day. One day of chaos and then back to normal from then on. Audrey
It would of blown up if I had anything to do with it lol ๐ but all jokes aside, I do hope car fire aside that yea everything ended up ok ๐ Sorry all but you know me and fires ๐ฅ ๐ #Lacy ๐
Parents to several adult kids, and 14 Grandkids (aged New born (2024), to 23 yrs old). FYI: We have a large 'family', but due to many and various reasons, we only see a few now. It is what it is. Attitudes. Personalities. Narcissism. Grudges. Perceived slights/favouritism. Backstabbing. etc. DAYS. OF. OUR. LIVES. SHIT. So, you get to see those who we choose to see, and those who do still see us as FAMILY, and who love us unconditionally. The rest can live their lives and just leave us alone. Thanks.
WHERE I LIVE:
New Zealand, it's in the South Pacific... and it's NOT a part of Australia! We are home of the All Blacks rugby team, the Kiwi (bird, but can't fly) and lots of bloody neat people!
WHO AM I? Here's where to find out.

RECAP... WHO AM I?
This post is going to be a WHO AM I, and my family run down... it is for people who have not been here from the start.
That's how my septic company was, so annoying!
