LOOK AT THAT

ABOVE:  Look!  We have houseplants.  Let's see how long they survive my tender loving care!  😂😅😊

ABOVE:  The colours in our garden are just stunning right now.  Spring really is the best season for natural beauty.

Now... back to right now.  Steve is coming over at some point to help Stew put towel rails, toilet roll holders etc in the bathrooms.  There's probably a few other odd jobs to be done too.

I'm not doing much today as I'm feeling decidedly jaded after yesterday.

Oh... my little elephant has a name.  TOBA.  After a lake in Indonesia where my brother Vern spent some time, when he lived there. Vern was on holiday there, and he was yakking with a bloke who was also from New Zealand.  Turns out that bloke was like a 3rd or 4th cousin of ours!  It really is a small world.

Nice to remember stuff like that... keeps his memory alive for me.   I hope to travel to  Indonesia one day, and visit places Vern lived and enjoyed visiting.

Right.... it's been a busy morning, AGAIN.

We hung a few more things, then went to Spotlight and actually found 'the curtains' for the lounge.
I'm very happy with them, even though they were OMG expensive.

ABOVE:  Sea Foam curtains.

ABOVE:  This son of ours!  He does so much for us... he never even has to be asked half the time.

ABOVE: And Bex is a gem!  She noticed there was some mould on the sun room ceiling... and off she went.
Apparently it was driving her nuts.

ABOVE:  This boy... utterly loves our Coco.

ABOVE:  Dante sitting in my Dad's chair.  Great Granddad would have loved all his great grandchildren.
Stew reckons he'd be scratching his head over one (or two) though.  lol

AND... just like that.  We are back at Level 3 this evening.
2 new Covid cases in Raglan and Hamilton (linked to each other).  No link yet to the Auckland clusters.  I'm sure they will find a link at some point.

But for now, no more shopping.  Stew is back working from home.

9.07 pm:  Well... I had a nap this afternoon.  Stew watched rugby on the telly.
Then I did some sewing, finished arm rests for the Laz-Y-boy chairs.
The ones I made last week just did not work at all, they simply would not stay on the damn chairs.  Grrrrrrrr.

We had McDonalds for dinner, I was just not in a cooking mood.  Feeling crabby as F#*k.

Now... Stew is off to bed cos he's damn tired.
I won't be far off going to bed as well.

    2. You're right. Now I remember it was Bunnings. Funny how the Aus and NZ stores have the same stock.

So sorry, Hamilton and Raglan are back into Level 3 from 11.59pm tonight - looks like Stew will be working from home again, one good thing. I can't see Auckland going down a level tomorrow - when will it end? BTW, love the colour of your curtains. Good job you got them today. Audrey

Oh wow. Your garden looks glorious. Good luck with the houseplants - most thrive on being ignored. Watered once a week (or less!) is the key for most indoor plants! Sorry to hear your restrictions are tightening again. I’d been wondering how the outbreak was going in NZ as we mainly get the Australian coverage of cases. Good thing you’ve been catching up with family and shopping while you can. And great that everyone has been getting vaccinated. All the best and hope it’s not locked down for too long. Liz

  8. loving the spring garden and your indoor plants. I have very .... average.... success with my indoor plants, but they all do need some sun, so maybe wheel the trolley near a window etc so they get some sun xxxx

    1. I think you are safe (for now)... though with that truckie travelling from Auckland to Palmerston North? Imagine if he has spread it through the Waikato, Taupo, Rangitikei and Manawatu? OMG the mind boggles. As for us, we are stuck in Hamilton for the next 5 days minimum. You couldn't visit even if you wanted to.

    2. Will definitely have to arrange a meet up next visit. We were going to go to Raglin but glad we didn’t. You will have lots to keep you busy in the next five days.

  12. Very happy birthday for Brylee yesterday. Looks like you had the best of family gatherings. It's wonderful to see the photos of you all together.
Bad news about the new restrictions. I do wish this would be over. We have got to the stage where we are leaving bing with it at the back of our minds but having been vaccinated are no longer afraid. Everyone seems that way now.

  13. Non slip shelf liner may have helped the arm chair covers stay on ?

    1. Fark why didn't I think of that? When I can get to the shops again I'll get one or two and give them a try for sure.
