IT'S GUNNA BE A QUIET ONE

The weather forecast for today (and tomorrow) is for rain.  Lots of rain.

So.  Stew and I plan on having a quiet day indoors.

I have a few things to finish finding places for in the house.

My sewing room became a dumping ground yesterday, so I could get the garage cleared.

I need to get in there and tidy it up.

ABOVE:  It was lovely to spend some time with Amanda last night.  We hadn't had a decent catch up since before our current lockdown.

She has a new job and is LOVING IT.  She's managing three Op Shops here in Hamilton.

She brought around a couple of 'finds' for me, I will show you later.  I haven't had a chance to photograph them yet.

ABOVE:  Thank goodness Stew is home, I get to go potty without an audience.  Usually, if they aren't following me around the house, they are asleep.  They can bug Stew today.

I started working on my next 'Cat Runner' on Thursday afternoon.  I might get back to that later on today.

Catch ya later.

9.39 am:  And I've been up for a couple of hours, just pottering around, putting stuff away, potting plants, cleaning up the ensuing mess etc.

Steve has managed to find some fresh whitebait, so he's coming over to make lunch for all of us.

There isn't much more to do in the house!  Fix the dining table, bring back in the chairs and that's about it!

DANG!  Famous last words.  I just saw two big containers FULL of glassware that have to go in the tv cabinet in the lounge.
πŸ˜πŸ˜“  I will do that now, then I know I can relax.

10.40 am: And I can finally say I'm done unpacking stuff!!!

ABOVE: The garage is clear!

ABOVE: One end of the lounge... DONE.

ABOVE:  This end hasn't got the two remaining lounge chairs in it yet.
We are using them in the family room until the new lounge suite arrives next year.

THEN.... all will be done.

ABOVE:  Steaming hot whitebait fritters.
I put tomato sauce with mine, Bex reckons I'm not even a real person!  Like, tomato sauce GOES with fish right???
Even TEENY, TINY FISH.
They are very filling.

It's  been 20+ years since I had my first ever whitebait fritter, and I won't mind if it's another 20 years till my next.
I really don't see what all the hype is about!
They are nice, but not as nice as prawns, or lobster or shrimps, which I love.

ABOVE:  The guys sorted out the table.  Now we just have to wait 24 hours to let the Expoxy Adhesive to set.  That 'SUPER GLUE' should hold it.

It's 3 pm and all is quiet again.  Kids have gone home and we are going to have a quiet time till dinner.

ABOVE:  These are the things Amanda found for me.  Just love the blue glass bottle, it is round on the top and then square on the bottom.  Rather neat.  The seahorse is very cute too.

STEVE:  is feeling much better.  His pain attack on Thursday night seems to have settled down now.  I hope he stays feeling OK.  He's got his 2nd Covid jab next Friday... I think we are all nervous about how he will react to that. πŸ˜ŸπŸ˜•

Stew did baked potatoes for dinner, with baked beans, onions, cheese and sour cream.  Rather delicious.

Now?  Time to sign off and just relax for the remainder of the evening.

btw:  it's been raining NON STOP all day.

  1. Hello from Melbourne australia It’s raining here as I type.
It’s been a wet and miserable few months here and it’s supposed to continue all summer
Hopefully we get to dry out soon

  2. Sounds like things are getting back to normal after the carpet fiasco. Have they acknowledged your issues yet? Can't wait to see the finds from Amanda. My son's girlfriend worked at one of those shops and brought home a lot of goodies! Oh - we had our first big snow last night. Plenty of cars in the ditches! But today the trees are flocked with snow. It is looking like a winter wonderland out there. And it is nice and warm (hovering around the freezing temp). I consider that WARM! Cold is when exposed skin can freeze in minutes.

  3. What an awesome job for Amanda. I love op shops but with marketplace and the like they don't have the lovely finds they used to have. People sell what they can and donate the crap. At least they do here. As Angela says it's raining here and has done for a while. At least we don't get Dogstar's cold!

  10. Back in 1969 we were in a cafe Wellington and I asked for fish and chips. The only fish was whitebait. IT HAD BLOODY EYES! Who eats fish that looks at you.

Ooh my husband no 1 used to put tomato sauce on everything, poached eggs, macaroni cheese even a pork roast. Put me right of it! Have never had whitebait. One day I guess. Kj
