HAPPY BIRTHDAY.... AND FREEDOM

Today is THE OLD MOO'S Birthday.

I hope you enjoy your day ... even though you are in isolation pretty much full time.  We will have to make up for it once we come over towards the end of the year.

We went down to Level 2 at midnight last night.
Which means shops reopen, businesses reopen, schools start on Monday and so on.
The best thing is the shops of course.
And being able to travel around our own country again.

I had planned on going out and about with my shopping list, but really?  I am sure thousands will be doing just that and I'm just not into standing in queues for too long.

So I might do a drive around and see what it's like out there.  If it's chaos I will just come home again.  Nothing is desperately needed right now.

ONWARD...

12.25 pm:  I went out at around 9.15 this morning, fully expecting huge queues and me coming home empty handed.

But NO!  The queues were not bad at all, and fairly fast moving.

Except SPARK... it took me about 25 minutes to get in to speak to someone about changing my plan, so calls to Australia will be free.

But... here's the most fucking annoying thing ever!  I get there, I answer all their damn questions, prove who I am bla bla bla.  Then I tell the girl I want to change my plan.  She brings up my details and ...

I'M NOT ALLOWED to! The damn account is under Stew's name, so I can't do a thing!

What the F*#K?   The bill comes to MY EMAIL ADDRESS.  I can go in there and buy a very expensive phone and put it on OUR account... but I can't change MY PLAN?   OMG I left there livid.  I'm still seething.

Stew will have to go in there on Saturday and give me 'authority' to change MY DAMN PLAN.  Grrrrr.

So apart from that, I got probably 70% of what was on my list.  I am going out again after lunch to do/get the last few things with any luck.

But for now... I'm damn starving, and crabby as ... well you know what.

Well... I'm now fed and feeling a bit better.

This is what I managed to buy so far today:

ABOVE:  A few more cheap canvas's to put my alcohol ink tiles on.  I still have quite a few tiles.
It would be nice to move them on, and if they sell maybe make some more?
I loved working with the alcohol ink.

ABOVE:  MORE wool for the tree.  Wooden letters and stick on black ones for my shop sign. Glue for sticking the letters/tiles on.  An Open/Closed sign to hang on my sign out the  front of the house.
A big piece of exterior board for my sign.
Varnish for weather proofing and also for my acrylic pour paintings.
And finally, some flannelette sheets for my bed.... cos it's getting cold.    They were half price!  SCORE.

ABOVE:  Flip side of the Open/Closed sign.

I'm now heading out again... I have a parcel to post, and I might head out to the nursery for some plants.

5.50 pm:  And whoops!  I got carried away doing stuff in the sewing room, then I might have nodded off in me chair for a while too.  Sheesh I'm getting old!

But anyway, there's another day tomorrow to go shopping.  *smiles*

I'm not cooking dinner tonight.  We have quite a lot of left overs to get through.... Lacy is falling down on the job in that respect!

She is the 'Left Over Queen' around here usually.

I made a small start on my shop sign tonight, just painted the backing board.
Now watching Coronation Street before bed.

  1. Are you wearing masks when you go shopping? Here many people are, many people are not. It's not required where I live. But in the USA security guards have been hurt and one was killed for asking people to wear masks.

  5. Our restrictions lift a bit on Friday. Still no restaurants dine-in service and things like that. But it's more freedom for most businesses.

  7. Happy Birthday, Mrs Moo. I'm with you, not going anywhere crowded until we know if we are going to see an upsurge in cases.
I can feel your rage, Chris. My phone account is in hubby's name cos I couldn't pass the credit test (not enough income of my own). Takes me back to the 50s.

Stew could just call them or send an email to give you authorisation? he could even change the plan over the phone probably.

    1. I offered to get Stew to ring them right there and then... and she said NO. He had to go in, IN PERSON, with proof of identity before HE could change MY plan. I was so damn annoyed!

  11. Chris I never go into Spark. I have changed it all online on your Myspace account. You can use their message system and just message them back and forth to get changes made.

    1. Thanks for that Julie. I did try to do a 'Live Chat' online with Spark, but it was like being on a merry-go-round, in the end I gave up. We can sort it out in a couple of days. I hope it's not too cold down your way, it is getting colder here for sure.

  14. My wife has the same problem with our phone company, I added her so she could have equal powers, but they apparently couldn't handle it. They still won't let her make changes. New Zealand is in the world news for opening up! Enjoy!
