ACCESS VISIT

Yesterday Lacy got to see Keera for the first time in over 6 weeks.
It was a most unexpected visit, one which Lacy was very happy about.

 ABOVE:  Such a pretty child.
She had a nice time with her Mum and Granddad.

Next weekend, Sunday, is Mother's Day and Lacy will have Keera for the afternoon then too.  Which is neat, I will get to see her too.

Today I don't have an addition for the tree. As it's supposed to be a terribly wet day, I doubt there will be any walkers out and about today, so not a problem.

But I will sit down and make a couple at some point today.

No other real plans for the day.  What about you?

ONWARD...

5 and a half weeks ago I put the first addition on the tree.
And I wanted to find my knitting block pattern book.  It had patterns and photos of blocks I'd knitted in it.

So I started looking for it... quite sure it was in my studio somewhere.  Like, that's where it should have been.

YEP.

And for the past 5.4 goddam weeks I have hunted high and low for that damn book.  SERIOUSLY, not every day... but at least 2-3 times a week.  I looked in every cupboard/drawer/box and wardrobe in the house, you name it, I looked there.

Last night I decided to go through the cupboards in the studio AGAIN, this time taking everything OUT, just in case my book was under or behind a box?

As I was doing that, Lacy came into the room and asked me what was I doing?

So I told her, and showed her another book that looked exactly the same as the one I was looking for.  So she offered to start looking at the other end of the room.

I was about to tear everything out of the lowest level of a cupboard, no mean feat as there was a shit load of stuff in it... and BUGGER ME!!!

Lacy opens a drawer that I'd looked in a dozen times already and friggin well pulled out...

ABOVE:  THE BLOODY BOOK. She found it?  WTF?  I'd looked in that damn drawer so many times.  I was like, how?

HOW? I'm sure there's a bloody ghost living here, playing tricks on me.  Seriously.

10.53 am:  Just been fluffing around in the house this morning.  It's dreary outside, wet and windy.
Lacy took the dogs for a walk in the rain.  Pretty sure they didn't mind.

Off to have my brunch now.  Shit it's a quiet day!

ABOVE:  I have plans for these hearts.

ABOVE:  Stew just hung this mirror in the shower room.  It had sat behind a door for the past 5 months.

ABOVE:  Today's project.  Any ideas what ?

ABOVE:  Well that's what I was doing!  I'm not very good at free hand writing, but it will do.
Now when I want someone to get something out of a particular shed, they won't come back and say "It's not there" cos they looked in the wrong shed.

They will take a while to dry, the flowers are pretty thick paint.  Stew will get the job of attaching them to the sheds another day.

7.40 pm:  I haven't enjoyed today.  Too quiet. No motivation to do anything much. I could have made a start on a table runner after the painting, but just couldn't be arsed.  I tried to have a nap late afternoon, but it didn't happen.

I lay there and listened to the TV in the room next door, and Stew cooking dinner and decided it was a no go.

At night I'm not sleeping well at all, it's even worse than usual, and I don't know why.

Maybe I just need things to go back to normal?  I am over the isolation.

I missed putting something on the tree today, and seeing and talking to people on the footpath.  It was just too damn wet and wild out there today.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is pretty much the same as today.  WET.  *sigh*

Time to sign off ... have a nice evening.

11.08 pm: and it's absolutely PISSING DOWN.  I don't think Auckland will have to worry about water shortages any more!

  1. Lovely photos of Keera. I can certainly relate to finding things in places I've already locked ... so frustrating, especially when you were pretty sure it was there in the first place. The mirror looks good. Can't wait to see what you're making ... I have no idea sorry!!

Wow Keera looks like shes grown heaps and so pretty. I had to pinch that comic pic. You're too far away to punch me lol. You must be going to put shelves on your gate by the studio?

PS I got a message "love you" from USA this morning. Wow.

  10. I think there are a lot of people suffering with sleep problems at the moment. Our routines, however boring and mundane, are out of whack and it's really affecting our motivation and sleep and everything. Hope you sleep better tonight. xx
