HALFWAY BACK TO NORMAL

Stew is off to work in his actual OFFICE today.
Brylee is still home, so we are half way back to 'normal'.

Yesterday Stew did a little job for me:

ABOVE:  My signs got put on the three sheds out the back.
Now there will be NO confusion when I am directing someone down to a particular shed.

Our Tin Shed is packed to the gunnels with stuff belonging to Griffin, Lacy and Brylee.  It will be wonderful to get it all out eventually so we can use it.  It's going to be my paint shed primarily.

Today I will be working on a cot quilt.  Now that I have the variegated thread I can get on with it.

Late last night I was titivating in my Studio.  Pricing stuff. Finding stuff.  Setting up a sanitising area.  bla bla bla.

We also hung a little 'flag banner' out the front.  I will take a photo and show you later.

It it almost 100% ready!

ONWARD...

Well damn.  I have not had porridge for breakfast in quite a while.  I had it today.
30 minutes later... acid reflux.  Grrrrr.
My porridge eating days are over by the look of it.

PETA: I am 100% certain I have a hiatus hernia. Self diagnosed of course, thanks Dr Google. One day I will get it addressed by a proper Doctor, but not right now. It would be impossible to get an appointment for any sort of medical investigation right now.

I've been pottering around all morning, getting lots of little jobs done. It feels good to be productive.

ABOVE:  I got Lacy to move her car, so the entrance to my little shop is clear.  The little banner above the frontage looks cute.

I will be making a cover for the heat pump, like the one by the pond soon too.

ABOVE: Today's tree addition. Words.

As I was stitching it on, my neighbours from across the road walked over. Mary read the words and said "BE KIND? Why would I want to be that?". She was joking of course.

As she walked on her way with her husband Ian, I yelled out "You be kind to Ian!". She just laughed. *smiles*

Oh we did something else yesterday, and Lacy and I adjusted it today:

...... hold oh...

ABOVE:  I made this 'flyer'... and Stew printed out a few for me yesterday.
Then we did this:

ABOVE:  Put them out the front for people to take one.  It's just preparation for opening my little shop.
OH and we have gone with Chris's Creations for the name.  Thanks for all your suggestions.

Now... I'm going to the supermarket.  I'm gunna make a Lemon Meringue Pie.  Cos I been dreaming about it.

WE GO DOWN TO LEVEL 2 ON THURSDAY.  Thank God.  I'm over being stuck at home.

Dinner tonight was Spaghetti Bolognese.  It was ok.
There is a Lemon Meringue Pie in the making... just waiting to go in the oven to cook the meringue topping soon.

The rest of the evening will be spent watching the telly and not much else.  It's been a busy day fluffing around the house.

    Hi

Everything looking good at your home. Maybe you need to have a gastroscopy to have a look down your oesophagus to make sure you are on the right medications etc.especially with Steve having a condition, families should be checked.

  2. Your shed signs are perfect. I like to name the various parts of the garden but don't normally put up signage - they'd be a big help when talking to someone else :)

  4. Hi Chris....I have read your blog constantly for a few yrs. and so enjoy hearing about your life in New Zealand! I am a retired nurse in Illinois, US...I suffered from acid reflux for a long time but then started taking an OTC drug called Prilosec, generic name is Omeprazole...I take 1 every morning and "Boom" acid reflux cured...My MD says it's great and to continue with it....Just wondering if you have this drug in your country? If you do, I highly recommend it....I never had any type of side effects from it and I eat all kinds of yummy food with never a problem now. :) Sure hope you might be able to find this med where you live. :)
Oh, and I just adore your tree..I check for it everyday and it always gives me a big smile :) :) Take care.

    1. Hi Chick... Omeprazole is called Losec here and that is what I take morning and night. It usually keeps the reflux at bay, but not when I eat a few specific things like porridge and pastry.

    2. Thanks for letting me know this....I'm sorry you're still having problems...reflux can be so hard to handle...Take care and hope you feel lots better soon and can enjoy porridge again...over here we call it oatmeal, and yes, it's so good! Great idea to open a shop in your home...I think you'll love the convenience of having it there!

Omeprazole is also the generic name for Losec and Somac here, my husband who did have a hiatus hernia has taken all three at different times whenever Pharmac makes a change - luckily they all seem to work. According to Dr Google porridge or oatmeal is supposed to be beneficial for reflux as it ishigh fibre and good luck with the pastry if you are making a lemon meringue pie. Audrey, Rotorua

  5. Your wee shop will be so much fun - guess I will have to come & check it out eh :-).

There is a Chiropractic manouver that helps with hiatus hernia. You may have to ring around to find one who does it. I had it done a year or so ago although it has flared up again recently and my current chiro does not as far as I know do this procedure (she is only a new graduate).
