I HAVE GIVEN UP!

All my adult life, I've tried to tame my hair down.  Keep it tidy.  And when worn up, I've clipped the wayward, curly whirly bits up.   And plastered my hair with wax's and gels.

But this last weekend, at the beach?

I actually decided it looks just fine being allowed to do it's own thang....

ABOVE:  What do YOU think?  Too untidy?  Or who gives a shit?  I feel so much FREE'ER, not worrying about stray bits flying around.  I'm gunna just let it all fly around!

Today I will be opening my shop at lunchtime.

Before that I'll get the housework done, then get back to my sewing.

I have another little sneak peek of what I'm working on right now:

ABOVE:  See?  I told you there was more to come eh?

I might even get this one finished today.

Then I can move on to these fabrics:

ABOVE: I'm excited about this fabric!  I know, it looks very plain and uninteresting, but my plans  will transform it. (I hope!)

11.12 am: For some reason, my tummy is playing up today.  I'm running to the bathroom every half an hour.  I can't think why.

I'm sewing owls.  Such fun.

1.22 pm:  And owls are all getting eyelids.  Today is going really fast!

Being BUSY, feels so good.  I'm watching movies on Netflix while sewing too... just watched 50 First Dates.  So sweet.  I cried at the end.

Its card night... so I'm in Cambridge now.

Catch ya later.

Well it's 9.58 pm and I'm home from Card Night.  It was a most enjoyable evening.  Last time I was the Loser, tonight?  WINNER.

I had some really good hands I must say.

And now... winding down before bed.

  1. You mentioned Wasgij puzzles a while back. New to me, but when I looked, they are carried on Amazon here. All my kids were home over the holidays (3 still here, life in quarantine). And we all like clever puzzles. I bought five of the wasgijs for something to do, they were a big hit! I plan to continue with a couple each Christmas, very good tradition. Very glad you mentioned it. Thank you!

  2. Your little neck hairs look exactly like mine! I can not even imagine trying to gunk it up and control it. Just let the little hairs be! They are just doing their thing.....
    Owls!
I think the new muted gray and white fabrics will be really pretty. Can't wait to see what you came up with.
I just bought a bunch of little fabric pieces on Etsy. I was looking for a photo background that fades from black to white. A tiny piece of photo PAPER costs $60. I have one but the ceramics scratch it all up. So I wanted fabric. Well, I went a little bit nuts and thought of you the entire time! I found something called "Gelato Ombre". I bought it in a couple of shades of black and gray. Then I saw the blue. And the Green. And the Rainbow. Then I saw some scratched up leather looking fabric. And then they had that in another color. Then I needed just a bit more for free shipping.... I don't even sew!

  3. I think your hair looks just lovely. As long as they don't bother you they are just fine the way they are. By the way I love the runners, and especially the owl one, my favourite. Ro xx

  6. Life is too short to be fannying about with getting perfect hair every day. Save it for special occasions and let it be free the rest of the time lol.

  10. Yeah, I like the wee loose curls, besides, there are far more important things to put your energy into in a day. As long as you are happy that is the main thing and this will be one less thing to think about. 💕

  12. Congratulations on tonight's win! I think your hair looks lovely ... wispy bits can soften a hairstyle and I often deliberately leave some bits out for that reason 🙂

  15. You have lots of whispies :) Love the curls. I've been wearing my hair all on top of my head now most of the time. Hardly put any make up on. Work from home and then wear a mask when I go out, no one even knows who I am lmao.

  16. Simple solution to all your hair problems. Convert to Rastafarianism and grow dreadlocks!
However, I like your hair fine the way it is.
