THIS 'N' THAT

The last thing the guys did yesterday, after completing the new front fence:

ABOVE:  They went out and bought a little hinge.  For the round cut out on the gate.  That cut out allows you to reach through and open the gate.

Remember, this DOES NOT allow anyone access to the pool.  It just lets you into the back yard.
It's a bit bloody cute.  *smiles*

ABOVE:  By 4 pm we realised none of us had stopped for lunch.  Except the little boys.
So out came the crackers, chips and dips.  And beer.  Well of course, I didn't have any beer.
It was a well deserved break.

ABOVE:  If you stand in a certain place in the kitchen or dining area, it looks like there is no fence at all.

ABOVE: Move to either the right or left just a smidge... and there it is! It's one very impressive fence.

ABOVE:  Today I am going to work on this new, enlarged front door/pond area.  We are thinking of laying down a small quantity of artificial grass (under the seat).
And of course, I shall titivate it to death! lol

But first... I'm off to get some new summer sandals or jandals.  Mine are about 7 years old, and now have paint all over them, among other things.  Fine for around home, but not going out.

As it is, I shall have to wear sneakers till I find something else today.

The guys are working on the actual POOL FENCE today.  It's supposed to only get to 20 degrees C today, so should be easier to work out there?

ONWARD...

11.51 am:  And Bex and I went out this morning with a shopping list.
And ended up getting a couple of things on the list before calling time on it.

I still don't have summer sandals, but that can wait.

ABOVE:  My niece in Australia asked 'Where is the blue' ... well, THERE.  IT.  IS!  lol
We were very lucky to find the two big blue pots on the left... the last one's in Hamilton!
The left one was half price as it has a small chip in it... not that you'd even notice.

We already had the smallest one on the right.
I've bought a lemon and lime tree to put in the two bigger pots.  The smaller one has a succulent in it right now, but I will get a miniature mandarin for it later.

Later on today we are going to a Landscaping place for a small trailer load of river stones/pebbles for around the pond area.  We are NOT doing fake grass now.  I just didn't think it would look good there.

Time for some lunch.

3.17 pm and it's another day's work done.  The guys have worked on the pool fence all day and have just finished it.

ABOVE:  It's coming together!  Now they can work on getting the pool itself finished.
WE MIGHT BE SWIMMING BY NEXT WEEK!

And Steve, Bex and the boys will be heading home to do a few things around their own home  then too. :(

I think they are all going to a park shortly, the guys are going to play golf on a short course I think.  They certainly deserve a break.

7.31 pm:  And we didn't get to the Landscaping place today.  Just ran out of time.
And the guys did not go golfing either as the wind was just too strong and gusty.

In fact it's been horrible today for wind.

So, I cooked a chicken stir fry with veges for dinner.  It was lovely.

And now everyone is chilling out, watching TV or playing games.  Time to sign off for the day.
