BACK TO HOSPICE THIS AFTERNOON

Morning!
I'm looking forward to this afternoon, my first shift at the new Hospice Shop in Manukau.
I expect to see lots of new faces, because this shop is in a different area from the one I'm used to working in.
Perhaps I can start finding treasure again?

I finished the four 'Mug Rugs' for my Mum late last night, and now I'm contemplating making her two Table Runners to match.  I don't have time to do anything intricate, but that's OK.  I'm sure the runners will look lovely.

ABOVE:  There, 4 good sized Mug Rugs (Coasters to none sewers).  There is room for a coffee cup and a biscuit or two (IF you were eating biscuits of course).

This morning's plans?  Hmmm... Not sure right now.  Could sew, could do housework... might even just read some blogs!  I haven't done that it a long while!  Strange how reading blogs has taken a back seat lately.  Not sure why.  Maybe because having Bex and Dante here has given me more incentive to stay off the computer!
Either way, I'm no longer feeling guilty anymore, I read and comment when I can.

ONWARD...

ABOVE:  We have visitors.  And my camera is seriously pissing me off today.  I keep getting massive blurry photos, no matter what setting it's on.  Grrrrrrrr.  Can I smash it with a hammer???

We just weighed Keera.   She is 9 months old and weighs 9.15 kg.  Dante is 4 months old and weighs 8.6 kg.  We have a long, lean wee girl and a small, solid wee man.  They are both adorable of course.

Kelly and Rena have come up for a few days, staying at Lacy's.  I'm sure the girls will have fun, and we can catch up with Kelly & Rena at some point too.

I have had the best afternoon!  The new shop is HUGE.  It has only been open for 2 weeks so I expected it to be fairly quiet... but it wasn't.  We had a steady stream of people through, which was lovely.  Some new faces and some faces I recognised from customers from Manurewa.

I found treasure.   But I'm not going to show you right now... I'll show ya tomorrow.  Sorry if you were wanting to see me treasure today.

Bex is doing dinner tonight, we are having homemade beef rissoles, mashed potatoes and veges.  Yum!
Food always tastes so much better if you didn't have to cook it yourself.

End of Day:  well Bex did a lovely job of dinner.  The rissoles were really nice.  I have spent a little while tonight teaching her how to put bindings on ... she has almost finished her first ever coaster.  I will show you tomorrow the finished product.
For now... it's time to go to bed.  I'm tired.  In a good way.
nite nite

Are 'mug rugs' the same as coasters?

  2. How are your frogs? haven't seen or heard from them lately, how are the visitation process going? The coasters are bright and cheerful and a runner would just set it all off nicely.

  3. Mug rugs look great.

Blog reading can be interesting and fun but ....is it real life?

I often stop to ask myself.

    Blessings

I totally agree, food does so much better if someone else has cooked it. I'd love to have a personal chef who would cook my meals and do the dishes, my hubby has one, I just wish I had one too!! :)
