MONSTERS

Last night's walk was titled 'Monsters on Moore'... as we walked down Moore Street.
So, one of the ladies brought a bag full of masks so we could 'dress up':

ABOVE:  Not a bad photo.  Those white masks freak me out!

So... I'm off on ANOTHER walk right after I drop the kids off at school!  Then I will have the day ahead of me free.

Well... mostly free.  I do have weigh in at Weight Watchers at midday of course.

I'm so glad it's Friday... this week has been long.
Looking forward to a relaxing weekend with no reason to get up early...

ONWARD...

so far today has gone like this:

Kids to school.

Off to walk ... which was a relatively short walk, but it had a rather LONG slow hill in it AND it pissed down with rain on and off, so kinda a shitty walk really.  After the walk 4 of us went for morning tea at Cafe 9.  I had a hot chocolate, which was rather nice.

Home, shower and change, then out again to take my TWO MONTH OLD NEW walking shoes back as they had split open above my left big toe.

They are now being sent off to have a leather patch put inside to stop that getting worse.  They will be away for at least a week, so I have to go back to wearing my old sneakers.  Hopefully I don't get foot/shin problems from wearing them.  *sigh*

I then went to the supermarket and bought these:

ABOVE:  I simply can't justify spending almost $200 on dying my hair at the hair salon right now, so it's a 'home job' for me.
I hope it comes out OK, usually I make a mess of it.
Brylee can do it for me when she gets home from school.

It's now after 12 noon, and I really don't feel like driving into Hamilton to weigh in, so will give it a miss this week.

4 walks in 4 days, not a bad effort, but I do feel rather tired.  I'm not sure I will do the walk I had planned for tomorrow morning or not... it's at 8.15 am.

Hmmm... might ponder that one a bit longer.

We are having fish n chips for dinner, I can't be arsed cooking, even a silly bugger dinner!

Looking forward to a nice evening just chilling out and relaxing.

Stew is annoyed about the shoes, said I should have been given new ones.  I agree, but wasn't in the mood for an argument today.  If they don't feel right/comfortable when I get them back I will be insisting on my money back.  And I will take Stew with me for support, cos I really don't 'do' confrontations.

    1. Don't worry, we only wore the masks for the photo! Not while walking... that would have been scary!

    Hi

With your shoes, you should have demanded a new pair or a refund as they have only been used a short time....I am sure you would be entitled to a new pair rather than a repair. If it was 6 months it might be different. Check with the consumers rights.

    1. I asked for a new pair, and was told they had 'The Right of Repair'... which is correct I think. I made sure that at least I wasn't paying for the repair though. Bummed out as they were so expensive, and got a hole in only 2 months.

  5. Love the masks, lots of fun on those walks.

Bugger about the shoes, I am not sure I would have been happy about them being "patched up" since they were only 2 months old. Hopefully you don't suffer too much wearing your old ones.

    1. Time will tell... I might be doing a 5.7 km walk tomorrow... if I'm up in time! That should show me if my old shoes are up for it.

    2. I am doing an 8km tomorrow if the weather is okay. At least I hope it is only 8, I am waiting to find out if it is 8km return or one way!

    3. Well for your sake I hope it's 8 kms all up!

  6. No, an item has to be "fit for purpose" and putting a leather piece in a split is not a repair. I would absolutely have demanded either my money back or a new pair. Clearly these are faulty. The right to repair is for items that can be repaired - a split in walking shoes is not one of those items. I would have been so angry at this!

  7. I have been using that hair colour for 20 years, never had a bad result. I love it, my hairdresser always asks me what I use t

  9. I think the shop should have replaced your sneakers ... they certainly should have lasted a lot longer than that before you had them begin to fall apart. Good luck with the hair dye! My hairdresser is lovely and only charges me $20 to put supermarket bought dye into my hair for me. She did my cousin's very long hair last weekend for $20 too - and hers needed two boxes of dye.

  11. I agree with what Lynda said about fixing the shoes. If they were not originally designed with a split and a patch, the repair is not equal to the original quality of the shoes. Oh - the creepy mask picture was fun. How will you top that one?

  12. My running shoe store would have replaced. I'm sure that patch is going to rub.
