"MUCK AROUND AT HOME DRESS"!

Amanda reckons that pretty orange/pink dress will be fine for Emily to wear to 'muck around home in'!

I DON'T THINK SO!  It is far too pretty for that.  I am giving it to Sienna now.  Pfffffft.  Muck around home indeed.

I shall make Emily a Blue dress instead.

Today:  hmmmm.... might go out and about.  Take the kids to the movies maybe.  Must check out what's on....

ABOVE:  I just checked out what was on ... and I think we will go to see 'The Smurfs'!  Steve watched it last weekend and said it wasn't that bad, so I will probably not be bored to tears!  lol

I didn't go to Weight Watchers last night!  So I shall miss it this week... and go next week.  NO ICE CREAM for me today, I got on the scales this morning and they were up by half a kilo!  OOOops, not good.

ONWARD...

The movie:  out of a possible 10... the kids gave it a 10.  Me: 5.  I had to watch the Smurfs for YEARS when my big kids were small... so I didn't really think that much of the movie.   I even tried to have a nap during it.. but I couldn't get comfy!  Oh well..

Glad the kids enjoyed it though.  Shame it cost $50 just to get through the door.  Oh the fabric I could have got for $50!  *sniff*

I've got a ruddy huge chicken out for dinner, so roast chook tonight.

Right now... I'm off to start a wee dress for Emily,  in BLUE...

ABOVE:  Done.  A BLUE dress for Emily.  It's nice.  I hope it isn't worn to 'just muck around the house in'.

End of Day: had a nice evening.  Got some blog reading done too, which was nice.
nite nite.

We went to the smurfs 3D @ Sylvia Park yesterday and I thought it was great! I think I enjoyed it more than Paige though but your kiddies are older..

What a REVOLTING day! Pouring with rain.... yuk. Just as well we only planned to tidy up at home today.

    Have fun.

  3. Amanda might change her mind when she sees the dress, maybe some matching hairbands or bandanas or scrun chies, ( I realise Emily hair too short and Renas needs to grow) VILE VILE VILE weather here...... I'm off to do grocery shopping in it.

I went to Jo-Ann's Fabrics yesterday and bought 2 patterns. One makes Tops, dresses and vests and the other makes pants with elastic waist and a cute jacket like top. Can't wait to take her with me to pick out the material. I'm sure Amanda will love her dress!! Oh!! Simplicity patterns were on sale for 99 cents!! good huh?!! ...debbie

  7. I can't imagine anything you made being a "muck around at home" dress. Pfffft! is right.
I haven't seen "The Smurfs" but I have heard it is good.

  8. How rude, a handmade dress is not a "muck around at home" dress!!

  9. Why is that beautiful little dress not being appreciated like it should be????

DH had to be at the hospital today for tests and so I would not lose what's left of my little brain I grabbed a crochet pattern and yarn and needles and stuck them all in my beautiful blue purse you made me . I love it dearly and that front pocket was perfect for me to stick DH's phone and belt down in while he was under the machine. So, you know I was thinking of my New Zealand buddy all day today. : )

  10. I remember the ole days when movies cost $2.50 (if you take the front seats). Now it's around $8.50, sometimes more. Me hubs get to take the kids to the movies. I have no patience for movies with animals or dolls.

  11. I watched the Smurfs a few weeks ago not in 3D though..... as I watched it from home :-), it was better than I thought it would be. Am making those mince and bacon and cheese pastry things tonight, they looked so yumm..... Lol.

  12. I love those wee dresses, if Siobhan was younger I would pay you to make one for her for Christmas too and she certainly would not be "mucking around home" in it.

It is so expensive to go to the movies these days and I refuse to buy the popcorn, ice cream & drinks from there now, it just adds too much to the outing.

  14. Like many of your readers, I remember going into town with a friend in the school holidays, and Mum would give me $10 for both the movie (plus popcorn and drink) and lunch at a department store tearooms. It eventually went up to abut $15 and I thought I was rich! It also covered the bus fare there and back. I am only 34 and I feel like saying "In my day..." Oh and Popsicle iceblocks used to be 20c! Now they are $1.80... I thought we were focusing on minimising inflation these days? Penny xo

  15. Fantastic! Beauuutiful... well done Grandma, you have made her a gorgeous dress that she can use to wow and impress everyone! 10/10
OH and the Smurfs were AWESOME!!!!! I LOVED THE MOVIE!!!!
Amd Steve would have loved the service, I shouted him to La Preimiere, he got to sit in an electronic lazyboy, and have juice and lunch served to him!
It was really nice, prob a once in a month event, but still, was so nice, I even got to buy myself a wine during the movie. I was very impressed.

  16. Sorry, over my head. What's the difference between mucking around in a blue dress or a pink one?
It gives me an idea though, you should create a line if indestructible, 'muck around the house' clothes. Plain ol gray or brown, big pockets and hoops for carrying tools and toys frying pans and whatnot?
A person would save a lot of cabinet space if they carried all their tools and/or kitchen utensils with them on a specially constructed clothing...
