SALT AND PEPPER.... NAH

 I'm feeling a bit sick.

Over my hair.

I told the hair dresser I wanted to be BLONDE, without yellow tones.

And this is what she did:

ABOVE:  Tell me honestly, do I look GREY now?

Because that's all I can see.  GREY.

And that's the very LAST colour I want to be!

Where on the colour wheel is BLONDE... compared to Grey?

On the advice of a friend, I have sent the salon an email saying how I feel about my hair colour, and that I want it fixed.

Seriously, I'm trying really hard not to cry.

I know it's not goddam AWFUL, but it's not what I asked for. I said I wanted to be BLONDE, with no yellow tones.

I'm gunna go grey eventually, but not TODAY.

When Stew arrived home from work last night, before he saw me, I asked him to tell me what colour immediately came to mind when he saw my hair.

HE SAID:  GREY

When we were out at the pub last night, I asked EVERYONE what colour was my hair?  Everyone said GREY.

I stopped in at Steve 'n' Bex's.  They both said immediately, my hair was GREY.

Apart from non-stop staring at me hair in a mirror, and being as vain as fuck, I have nothing planned for today.

YET.

I really hope I hear from the hair Salon.

The goddam ITCH from hell is so much worse today, yet I've not been in the pool since Monday.
Thinking it might be 'something else'.  I hope it's not my diabetes medication?  And why would it cause problems NOW, after I've been on it a full year?
Grrrrrr.  I'm desperate for a solution cos my poor fandango is so, so sore.

ABOVE:  I put my hair up again today.  No point wearing it down cos I hate it so much.
Spot the difference?
Oh and I look so tired today... lack of sleep from fucking itching all night long does that.

I'm now going out to get a few things from the supermarket.

10.37 am:  Thank You to everyone who's said my hair looks 'nice'.
When you leave a salon after spending hundreds of dollars and hours in a chair, you should feel FANTASTIC.  I felt like crying.

I did express my disappointment to the stylist at the time, but she assured me after washing it, it would be 'better'.
I've been around the block far too many times to believe that.

11 am:  I have heard back from the salon via email.  They are prepared to 'fix' it on Tuesday morning.
I have emailed them back, confirming I can attend that appointment, BUT only if they are not going to charge me the full price AGAIN!

So now I wait to see what they come back with.

Sooooooo.... I was in the laundry this morning, getting a load of washing on.  And hmmmm, something hit me in the face.
About a month ago I started using a 'new' laundry detergent.

ABOVE:  When I say 'new', it's not really?
Same brand, just in liquid form.  We got it from COSTCO.
Today I am gathering up ALL me knickers and washing them in the 'OLD' powdered laundry detergent.
Cos, at this point I am prepared to try anything to find out what is causing the 'problem'.

11.30 am:  Just in, the salon has assured me there will be NO CHARGE for the appointment on Tuesday!  That is such a relief, as it was horrendously expensive!

I've had a quiet afternoon, just did some sewing.
Then I made us a lovely stir fry dinner, using heaps of veges, chicken and bacon.

And just now I thought I'd read up on Jardiance, the diabetes medication I was put on last year.
AGAIN... the itching problem could be down to THAT as well!  It can cause Urinary Tract Infections (TICK, got my first ever UTI this year) and Thrush (TICK, seem to have that).  I am now going OFF Jardiance for a couple of weeks to see what happens.

I am prepared to try ANYTHING to get rid of this incessant itch!

It has been SO BAD the past couple of days, I'm literally going mental.  The new cream is not doing a bloody thing either.

I'm a right misery guts right now!  I'm gunna drown my sorrows in some Tipple.

I can see that it is not what you want, and yes, I can see it looks gray at first glance, but it is absolutely not terrible.

It is nice and soft and natural looking.

I am hoping they can fix it for you easily. Get the number if they can correct it without damaging your hair.

Your hair looks beautiful, it’s not grey, it’s ash blonde, very classy. Don’t be in a rush to have any more chemicals in your hair. Get some lemons and squeeze it onto your hair comb it through, sit in the sun for at least 30 minutes

Although I think that is a beautiful color and suits you...it is not blond and I would ask for a re-do. How could the stylist turn you gray like that? That is definitely not blond. Sending you tight hugs! Ky Girl

  5. I love it but I’m so used to seeing you blondey which brightens you more and is summery and light my friend in ROTORUA owns pure Bliss Salon she has been a hairdresser for 30 yrs plus I used to drive back from Auckland to her! Kellie
Fingers crossed for a more positive outcome for today.

  6. I think at first glance it looks grey but the more I look at it, the less it does. It's not awful but I get it, it's not what you want. I can't understand how hard it is to get blonde hair without the yellow tone. I am in the same boat as you, I either come out with yellow hair or grey hair. It's so annoying as it's damn expensive as you know. I have recently spent upwards of $500+ on my hair and it currently looks like it has been peroxide dyed white. Can't win! I hate it when all I can see is the hairdresser posting pictures of other peoples hair-do's that look exactly like the colour I want mine.

  7. Its ash blonde but yes, not the blonde you wanted. I like your hair around your face though rather than tied in a top knot! I know you love it long but is there a different way you can wear it? I'd phone the salon though, not just email. Not everyone reads emails right away.

  8. Honestly I am not sure how I feel about your hair. I like it, it is a pretty colour and will settle a bit after a couple of washes BUT it is definitely not the blonde you asked for so I can see why you are disappointed. I think the hairdresser should have shown you pictures to get a clear idea of the colour you wanted because I suspect this is a bit of a communication breakdown, when you said without yellow tones she has given you ash blonde which is lovely but not where you were heading.

It’s ash blonde -very creamy tones. I think the colour looks very nice on you but hair is such a personal thing. Did she put the toner on for a long time? It might ‘blonde’ up more for you over the next week as the toner fades.

I don’t like it at all Chris. This look is very trendy at the moment, especially with young ones, but to me it’s grey. Hope you get a good fix without damaging your hair. Marie, Melbourne

Is it possible they need to culture your itch? To be sure exactly what it is? Is it possible you need a dermatologist or an obgyn instead of a regular doctor?

I love your hair, so soft but I’m not you. Did you express your disappointment to the hairdresser yesterday? If they are prepared to redo your hair as you wanted, I’d ask if I could wait for a few weeks to save chemical overload. Hope you get a positive result from your hairdresser. If you don’t receive a reply to your email quickly I would definitely ring the salon today. Hope you get some relief from your itch

Hi as you know diabetes itself can cause the itching, but look up this condition Lichen sclerosus...You probably need to see a gyno...I agree that your hair colour looks classy...but you can change it in a few days....Peta

  17. I like your hair but it’s definitely not you or what you were after, at least the return visit will be free.
I hope the change in washing detergent will fix your itch

  18. I'm happy to hear your hair will be fixed free of charge. It looks lovely but it is grey, definitely not the blond you wanted.
Hoping going back to the powder detergent helps the itch.

I would have thought if it was the detergent than you would have itches wherever your clothes touch you - I definitely do if anything chemical has changed in my life but I agree that it is better to be sure. Audrey

  20. It's grey. They aged you by ten years. Find a picture of your hair down after a LOVELY color. Bring it with you. I know there is one on here somewhere. My god - they made your hair darker than it was. And Grey! Bring photo, so there is no question what you mean by "blond". And to prove that it can be done!

  21. May 11, 2017. Bring that pic!

  22. It's ashy blonde and i like it. You asked for it not to be yellow so i see what she's done there.

You don't look like you have aged ten years...you look just the same with a different hair colour ...and let's face it at our age what is our colour? lol. Peta

On the itching, I agree with someone who commented above about asking for a swab to get analysed through pathology. Marie, Melbourne

  25. I never thought about the washing powder liquid but yes definately worth noting if it’s different I would have washed all underwear through a pre rinse NO product at least twice then used normal one.

  27. Ruling out laundry detergent is a great idea. And what about the new knickers? Maybe the fabric is irritating or something.

It looks grey to me and I’d be as mad as hell to have it turn out like that compared to the regular blonde you get. Ash blonde might be a colour but sounds like a pleasant way to word gray to me.

  29. I don't see grey -l love it, that's the colour I want, but can’t seem to get! I think it suits you, but glad they’re going to fix it as you’re so unhappy with it.

  30. To me your hair looks fine but, you are not happy, that is what is important.
When I was going through menopause, the itch in the nether regions was so bad I could not sit down. Dr. prescribed a hormone cream, it worked wonders. Worth a check up from a specialist.
