FINAL STEP

This afternoon we have ChemDry coming to clean the carpet that got stained when our hot water cylinder failed.

It will be interesting to see if all the staining comes out or not.

It's the final step, after today we can put it behind us.

I'm going out this morning for a few things.  Just odd jobs around town really.

I hope like hell it's not as wet today as it was yesterday!  It was bloody awful yesterday, and OMG sooooo cold!

I still have no idea how I've hurt my hand.  Yesterday there was bruising coming out, it got worse over the course of the day.

ABOVE: It is most sore in the circled area... yet there is bruising spreading over most of my hand.
Anyone else had something like this happen?
I'm not too concerned about it, just puzzled.

Right, enough whinging... I better get a move on.  I want to be out the door by 7.30 this morning!

ABOVE:  latest photo in better lighting.  No sign of an insect bite at all.  Just weird.

Yaaa!  I finally got the painter to give me a 'rough' idea when they can come and do our interior painting.  3-4 weeks!  So much quicker than he originally quoted, which was 3-4 MONTHS.  I can't wait!

All going well, this home will be spic 'n' span for Christmas.

Pondering.  Just sitting here, in the warmth of the heat pump... thinking about doing the ironing.  But yeah nah.  Not right now.  lol

Right there with ya Lacy!

2.15 pm:  And ChemDry are late.  Frustrating.
Between 1 and 2 pm they said.  Dum dee dooooo...  2.25 pm.  Here at last.  Machine on.  Cleaning.  Let's see how it goes!

Well... the carpet looks amazing!  So good.  We won't have to make an insurance claim.  If we had, they were only going to replace the hallway and one bedroom anyway.

Emily and Liam are here for the afternoon.

ABOVE: They are thoroughly enjoying the new fidget toys.

9.35 pm:  Well... it was a noisy afternoon!  But nice to hang out with those two kiddos.

They left just before Stew arrived home from work.

Since then, Stew and I have spent a lovely evening watching the TV.  There was a new 'crime' programme on, a New Zealand production.
We didn't expect much from it, but it was OK.
Lucy Lawless plays the main character.
It was called My Life is Murder.  I'm looking forward to the next programme.

Your hurt hand is puzzling. I don't see a bite mark, like a spider bite, etc in your photo. I hope it quits hurting you sooner than later. :-) Ky Girl

  3. Happened to me too - my hand was just like yours, ended up going to dr and getting abs as she reckoned it was a spider bite. I could not see any marks. Maybe best get it checked out. So cold here, had snow flurries but nothing like where Felicity lives!!

  4. Is your sore hand on the same arm you had your covid jab in? Could it be related?

    2. Chris my 2nd Pfizer had my opposite hand go slightly numb and sore days later. If it’s still bad please get it checked, just to be sure.

I get bruises like this when I try to open a really tight jar or bottle but apparently it is caused by arthritis. You also bruise easier as you get older but that doesn't apply to you yet!! Audrey, Rotorua

  6. Maybe you subconsciously punched someone and your hand has bruised in response!

  7. We watched the first season of My life is Murder and enjoyed it. The second series starts here at the end of the month ( Wikipedia says it’s an Australian production)🤷‍♀️

The first series was filmed in Australia and I think you are right that it is an Australian production. Nice last night seeing so much of Auckland. Audrey

  9. As I write this at 1:30 p.m. Monday, we are having all of the carpets leaned in our house. Furniture everywhere. what an upheaval.
Strange about the bruising in your hand, hope it is better soon.

  10. I rather liked that show. Lucy Lawless is quite good in it. I thought it light and entertaining with just enough substance to keep me watching.
