STRUGGLING FOR BLOG IDEAS!

It is very hard some days to find something to blog about.

My days revolve around visits to Mum in the hospital, then giving family updates on her condition.

It is the same every day right now.

I've not set foot on the beach yet, not even driven by it!  I have NO IDEA what Coffs Harbour's beach and harbour look like.

And I don't see that changing any time soon, and that really does not bother me.

I am not here to sight see.

So with that in mind... I will leave you with this, it made me laugh.

Just change the word 'tea' to DIET COKE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sister Lorraine.  I hope you have a special day and get to spend time with your cute grandkids and family. 💙💖💚

ONWARD...

ABOVE: I got these the other day. I love them. There was another one with a black heart... should I get them ??

11.10 am: the gardens here are so pretty.

ABOVE: Mum's room.

ABOVE:  Can you see the singing face?

4.55 pm:  Home from the hospital. Today it was very hard to leave.  Mum is now in the 'Terminal' phase of her journey.

She is asleep all the time.  She is no longer eating or drinking, hasn't for a couple of days now.
It is only a matter of time.

Tomorrow when we go out again, I plan on staying overnight with her... for a couple of nights at least.

I'm going to be getting dinner for Ron and I shortly.  But I just wanted to show you how stunning it is 'out there' today:

ABOVE: The sea is SO BLUE!  On our way home from Bellingen this afternoon, Ron took us to Urunga... and I actually got to SEE the ocean only a few hundred meters away.  But we didn't get out of the car.

I doubt I will get to put my feet on an Aussy beach for a while yet.  😞

There will be plenty of time 'later'.

I know that it's early, but I am going to say 'nite nite' now.... cos after dinner I just want to do NOTHING for a while.  My batteries are a bit empty.

  1. Not to worry if your blogposts are "uneventful". It just happens to be what is going on in your life right now. It's a good "diary" too. Every day varies... even if they are a lot alike. And your blog documents it all no matter how interesting it is. In fact, that makes it interesting. Keep it up!

  2. Don't worry about blogging - we all understand the situation. Perhaps just a little update each day would do? Don't forget though that blogging about little stuff can be interesting too.

  6. I want those shoes!
As for blogging do what you can and what you want to. Your blogs are never boring and maybe they are a good way to remind you that there is a sane world out here waiting for when things get back to normal. OK, not all of us are sane but you get my drift.

  10. If you are lovin those shoes... Get the others. It can be crazy trying to find clothes/shoes that fit and that you really like. When you find something - don't hold back. The gardens and everything are so beautiful. I swear - they are like an outdoor garden that you pay admission to see. It is so perfect and beautiful. I just hope nobody takes that beauty for granted. But, by the looks of things... I don't think anyone is. The know they have beauty and it shows in the maintenance of the grounds! Love all the garden statues and mushrooms and such! If you get the black heart shoes - you should paint the heart blue. But leave a bit of black showing for contrast! Have fun with it!

  17. What I am about to say comes from my experience as an oncology nurse who has seen many people leave this world. The important thing as she enters this final stage is that she is comfortable and that she is supported by loved ones. You and Ron have done an amazing job. Sadly due to Covid it is most likely that other family won't be able to see her because it's important (especially as she becomes less and less responsive) that she hears the voices of those she loves and trusts the most - you and Ron. That's not to say she doesn't love and trust others but you are the ones that have cared for her most recently and therefore will be forefront in her mind. Once she has taken that final step you can all get together and remember her. And then you can go to the beach - and I'm sure she will be walking beside you even though you won't see her. Sending big hugs, Chris, and contact me privately if I can help in anyway.

  21. Although I haven't commented much I have been reading and thinking of you constantly as you and Ron face this time of the heartbreak of being with the one you love as they slip away. Keep talking to Mum as you normally would. Even though she won't respond I firmly believe she will know you are there. You are doing the one thing that is most important at the moment and that is being with her. It is the most precious thing you can do for her. Reassure her you will all be fine. I've been where you are now and I understand completely all the emotions that come into play at this time. sparkling merlot has some great advice and please take her offer of help if you feel you need it. She has the experience. Take care my friend and know that many are feeling your sorrow as you say your goodbyes. I'm sure Ron is feeling grateful to have you there to share the journey and to help ease the pain. Big big hugs.

Kindest thoughts and prayers for you, blog if YOU want to, so many of us are here for you, your Mum, Ron and you are the first priority, we will respect your silence if that is what you need to get you throught this difficult time. I was with my Dad at the same stage of his life, and as others have said, your Mum will hear you even though you may not get a response, keep talking to her, it will help you all. Heather

So sorry Chris, all my thoughts are with you, your Mum and with Ron at this time, I know how hard this is and will be for you all, I went through this with my Dad and then my sister, it’s draining, exhausting and heartbreaking! But you have all the support of your family, friends and blog family as well. Don’t try and be strong, at least not too much, lean on your family/friends, ask for support, take the support and remember you matter too, so look after your physical AND your mental health as well through this time.

    Thinking of you!
