RELAXING THE RULES

Gosh I am so happy today.

The RULES of visiting anyone in the hospital is "ONE PERSON PER PATIENT, PER DAY"... no exceptions.

But because Ron got VERY UPSET yesterday while visiting Mum, they are relaxing the rules and allowing me to go too.  That way I can support Ron through this.

Which means I can see Mum every day for a while at least.

I hope and pray she picks up soon and can come  home again, with us getting support from daily nurse visits.  That would be wonderful.

So... today we will be at Bellingen for a good deal of the day.

I will try to do an update at some point, provided there is something to yabber on about!

ONWARD...

ABOVE:  The dress I bought yesterday.

It's a very similar cut to the dress I got a few days ago... and the fabric falls beautifully.

ABOVE:  These two.  *sigh*

ABOVE:  Stew and Brylee had dinner at Amanda's last night.  Seems Amanda is pretty chuffed about that.  DICK.

3.35 pm: Just home from the hospital.  A long day just being with Mum... helping her eat some lunch etc.
She is adjusting to the new environment quite well... and the staff there are so very lovely.

ABOVE:  Not much more I can do right now.
And tell her I love her as often as possible.
*** This is hard ***

Ron's daughter has invited us to dinner tonight, so Yaaaa,  a night off cooking!

7.55 pm:  We had a very delicious dinner with Diane and Brett.  Brett is the cook in the house and he made us spaghetti bolognese, fresh salad and garlic bread.  One of my favourite meals.

Home in good time to head off to bed early.  I hope like hell I get some sleep tonight!

  1. What a relief that both of you can go to the hospital. I mean one of you is her husband, and the other a daughter that has come through hell and high water to get there. It's an impossible choice. At least she can have visitors. No visitors allowed where I live!

Lacy - what's the story on that cool pendant?

Good Morning Dogstars, I'm guessing your talking about my necklace, well actually, I believe Ma gave me a picture a while ago, it had these 3 almost identical little carvings in it, so before doing as I did, I called mum and asked if it was ok to break the picture down and well wear one of them....it was so I did, the other 2 are in My and Keera's Jewelry Box xx 💜
I have always loved things like this 😊

  6. I am so pleased the hospital is relaxing the rules for you. It shows they are more about patient care than the rules and that can only be a good thing.

  9. I know this is hard for all of you. Happy you get to see some other people and enjoy a meal that is not your responsibility. Take a short break and enjoy. Take care.

  13. Chris- you are doing the important things looking after your mum and helping Ron. It sucks and is hard. Telling her you love her is everything she needs. You are a good girl.

  14. Thinking of you all. This is definitely a tough time for you all. I love your new dress. You might have to do a wee informal fashion parade of the new outfits for your Mum ... a different outfit each day that you visit her. She may enjoy the splashes of colour you bring to her room during her awake times.

  15. I had the pleasure and pain of nursing Dad to his dying day I even carried him out and down a flight of stairs in my arms to the hearse I refused to let them put him in anything other than my arms!
They had known our family for years and it was my honour to do it, he said to Mum”shit she’s strong” mum says “NO bloody minded stubborn and determined. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat 17yrs on still hold that close to me......
Cherish every moment hard sad funny frustrating tearful angry even ....
Chris Dads demeanour did change as chemical imbalances happened he had mood swings up days down days it was soooooo terribly hard but worth every second to know I was there when it mattered most xxx

  17. Hi Chris, Feel for you as its such a tough time. Just a suggestion - with my mum, we formed a whatsapp group called Siblings (or whatever you like). That way we had three way communication between my brother, sister and I and also our respective partners. Kept the info flow simple, no mixed messages and a godsend for me being so far away. Thinking of you xx
