DUMP RUN

Today Stew is doing a dump run, getting rid of the old mattress and our treadmill, among other bits 'n' bobs around the place.

While he's doing that, I will open me little shop, and work on that colourful cot quilt.

I went out in the garden yesterday, just to see how it's changing over the winter season.

And I was standing looking around and all I could hear was this crazy buzzing... like really fast and loud!

ABOVE:  would you believe it was a demented bumble bee!  Seriously, it was acting crazy.  Probably drunk from pollen!  This shrub was covered with bees.
But that bumble bee!  He was HUGE.

ABOVE:  The maple trees we left alone have lost almost all their leaves...

ABOVE:  They look gorgeous on the ground.  So many colours.

Now here's a question for you clever gardeners:

ABOVE: What is this plant?  And how can I stop it spreading?  It's almost like a damn weed the way it keeps spreading everywhere.
I don't necessarily want to kill it off, but I would like to curb it's enthusiasm in going all over the place.

ABOVE:  I found a couple of things (basket and little bunch of flowers) to put on the new headboard.
I think that's all I will be putting on there, less is more and all that shit.

And... that's it for now.  I might get up soon... but it's so COLD!!!  I think I'll lie here till my feet start twitching... once that happens I know I have to get up and get moving.  I can't ignore the feet!  lol

ONWARD...

2.55 pm:  Stew and I decided to have lunch at The Base.
The place was cram packed with cars and people!

Anyone would think it was pre-Christmas shopping time.

ABOVE:  We parked a good distance away from all the craziness and just walked over to the mall.

We  had a lovely lunch at Foundation then went to Adairs, where we got a cute throw.

ABOVE:  STEW decided the couch needed another 'something', so we got that throw.
It was $109.99, on sale 40% off, THEN we also had a $20 voucher .... so it cost us $42!  SCORE.

We are home now, and expecting Steve, Bex and kids for an overnight visit.
And Lacy is here raiding the fridge.  Thank goodness, the left overs are piling up!

ABOVE:  Everyone should have visitors like this!  They arrive and make dinner for you.
We got pretty lucky with these two.

Dinner is done and dusted, I'm knitting, kids are playing, Stew and Steve are watching Rugby (read extremely happy men), and Bex and Brylee are playing on a Nintendo Switch.  Whatever that is.

The day has been pretty awesome.

Alstroemeria I think they're a pain in the arse I have sprayed, ripped, torn and sworn trying to rid our garden of them. Pretty yes but no smell and they're not ideal if the dogs eat them. Dismal day here raining and cold ohhh well thank God for TV! George's Mum.

Yes, they are almost impossible to contain. I have mine in pots. Very long lasting, though, so great for picking.

  12. Most things still closed here. Haven't been shopping in months other than for groceries. Anything that is open is swamped and I no interest in fighting the crowds. Looks like life is back to normal for you folks. How nice to have such helpful guests.
