PULL APART GARLIC BREAD

Robyn asked me yesterday for the recipe for the garlic bread we had on Sunday night.

So... here it is:

ABOVE:  It's a really easy recipe, it just takes some time to prepare and bake.  But so worth it.

TEN DAYS until Christmas.  And although I really didn't feel like 'celebrating' it after Mum's death... I'm now starting to look forward to it!
Some things have started to come together, and lessen my stress and sadness.

I will be opening my shop today, and using my 'attractor' for the first time too.

'Attractor' is a right dick of a name for it... gimme ideas on an alternative name would ya?
It's not really a flag... and I can't think of anything else.

While I'm in my sewing room today I will be working on a couple more Heart Runners I think.
And that bloody apron!  I totally did not get it finished yesterday.  In fact, I forgot about it.

Swum in the pool and lay around like a lazy tart instead.

I think I'm taking 'slowing down' too seriously!
So much shit is not getting done.  And worse, I just don't care!
I don't know what's gotten into me.  This is just NOT ME.
Hmmmm.... might have to try and work on my attitude.  What do you think?  Lazy?  Or just over it all?

ONWARD...

11.25 am:  And I'm just home from The Base, where I got the donuts for TONIGHT'S Card Night.  (yes it's tonight!).

I also picked up two new KING size fitted sheets for our bed.
NOT THE FULL - fitted, flat and 2 pillowcases set.  I just wanted the fitted sheets.
Best of all, all sheets were half price.

Then home to get ready to open the shop.
Which is what I should be doing right now!

Lacy borrowed our handcart today.  Upon returning it, she encountered another dead rat.  It was around the back of our house.  So she has double bagged it and  taken it away to deposit in a bin.
Poor girl was vomiting just a little bit from the smell.

ABOVE:  That's Bob.  Bob was looking forward to Christmas, until he found the lovely rat bait Stewy has placed invitingly all around our property.   Now he's on his way to rat hell.

It's  a very hot day out there.
Well... Hot by our standards.  NOT Aussy standards.

My shop is open now.  So I'm just sitting thinking about finishing off that apron.  I say thinking...

11.57 pm:  Oh shit!  I didn't realise I'd not updated for ages today!
Sorry about that.

So, no one in the shop today.
I wasn't feeling the best (tummy was doing flip flops all day), so opted not to go to Card Night after all.

Steve, Bex and the boys came over for a swim and dinner.
Stew got home from Rotorua and we both enjoyed having dinner with the kids and Brylee.

After the kids went home, we watched some TV before bed.

I started doing something that I have been thinking about for a little while now.  More on that tomorrow.

It's quite late, so I'm off to bed now.
Catch ya tomorrow.

  1. Neither - just emotionally exhausted. Just allow yourself to take it easy, you’ve been through a lot. You’ll gradually get back up to speed 😊. Apparently a Gonfalon is a banner with streamers ... but not sure that’s better than ‘attractor’. 😂😂

    1. Gonfalon is a beauty of a word! I love strange and unusual archaic words. Probably better than "hooker" as in "to hook" (hook being a synonym for attract).

  2. Oh honey, you are the opposite of lazy, I think you have realised that it is okay to relax, things can wait and it is more important for your mental health just to do what you feel like. An afternoon swim & a nap is perfect, and guess what! The world did not come off it's axis because you had a break. You have been through a lot, there is still a lot going one so just pace yourself.

  3. Bloody heck woman, enjoy slowing down... enjoy doing nothing. You have earned the right after years of caring for others. I too am a slothful person a lot of the time because I feel that I too have earned it :) Life is too short to not stop and smell the roses along the way.

You 'attractor' could just be called 'Cooee... I'm open!!!' shouted in a high voice of course.

  4. So rather then calling it an 'attractor', maybe just call it the 'Static Steve', I mean they both draw peoples attention haha

    2. Indeed I am, just like your Static Steve outside, firm and upright.

  5. HAHA. I just put "attractor" into a Thesaurus. And it said "did you mean attract?". I said yes. It suggested "hook" which would make your thing a "hooker". HAHA. Oh dear. What am I doing? P R O C R A S T I N A T I O N

  6. I love reading about you slowing down and enjoying the good things in life. Don't stop.
I have a dear friend who was always cleaning. Every weekend she would clean her already spotless house. Her sister in law was out from England and it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon so I suggested we go for a walk on the beach. Friend said no - she had to clean. So her sister in law and I had a fantastic walk soaking in the scenery and just chatting. On her return to England she was diagnosed with breast cancer and passed away shortly after. Friend had a clean house. I have memories.

I like the sound of Gonfalon. But it this house it would known as the shop open thingy.

I don’t think you come out the same when you watch a parent die, nothing is ever the same. Jo x

  9. What about welcomer.... not sure that’s a real word though 🤣 I was up super early for a run, then did some shopping and needed a little nap.... now I’m trying to get my butt off the lounge to make a start on dinner. I feel like a bit of a lazy sloth myself. You’re always on the go so just enjoy this phase of slowing down. I think you’re Body and mind are just taking time to emotionally recover ❤️
