IT'S THAT DAY

Well... our day is starting not too early.
We are staying in bed until about 8 I hope.
Then a few family members will be arriving to unwrap presents.

You all know how it goes.

Presents.  Chocolates.  Candy Canes. Noise.  Wrapping paper everywhere.

Well... not so much paper here as I've used bags.

But it will still get all messy and chaotic.

The one thing I love about Christmas Day is that after all the fuss has died down, I can put it all away and get my house back to 'normal'.
I'm such a sad git.

I really do like everything in it's place and TIDY.

At lunch time we are all piling into our cars and heading over to Steve 'n' Bex's for Christmas lunch.
Which is gunna be a BBQ, followed by desserts.

And a nana nap no doubt!  Eating a big lunch almost always means a massive sleepy period in the afternoon!

Are you the same?  Tell me I'm not the only one who has to sleep off a big midday meal!

ABOVE:  Something tells me we will be eating Ambrosia for a few days!

Ambrosia:  Whipped cream, fruit yogurt, marshmallows, fruit puffs, mixed together, put in bowl, mini pavlovas on top.
Grated chocolate on the top if you want, and fruit salad in the mix too if ya want.

Ok, I'm gunna probably get up now and put some face on.  Clothes might be a good idea too.

Then it's time to get BUSY!

ONWARD...

As I do... just some random photos:

ABOVE:  She loves wool... obviously.

ABOVE:  Private family joke.  Let's just say at some point in the past Brylee caught a Frizzbee with her mouth and has never lived it down. lol

ABOVE:  The two left handed ones.

ABOVE:  My new mug... GORGEOUS!

ABOVE:  Amanda's two littles... very happy with their presents.

5.29 pm:  Just woke after having a food coma!
Our lunch at Steve 'n' Bex's was amazing.
SO MUCH FOOD!

Steve 'n' Bex are going to be eating left overs for days!

Today was the first time I'd tried fried Haloumi Cheese.  I tried it once before, NOT FRIED, and thought it was disgusting.
Obviously, you need to fry it!  It was delicious.

Now... I'm still waking up!  Feel really groggy.
We are not having dinner as such, probably just have a few snack type things.

Once I'm feeling more energetic I will be putting all the Christmas stuff away.
I know it's like, DAMN EARLY, but tomorrow we are doing a big job in the lounge... so I want everything away.

And... it's all away until next year.  Sure didn't take long... no big Christmas Tree to undress, lights to detangle and so on.  Such a relief that is.

Last photo of the day:

ABOVE:  Miss Muppet and I .... her in the cute dress her Mum got her, and me in a dress I particularly love too.
Nite nite my friends.... I hope you have had or are having, a Fantastic Christmas Day.
Love you all.

  10. Merry Christmas to you all. Lovely photos. We are having a quiet day here in Christchurch - just me, my husband, my Mum and (from Auckland) my brother, which suits me fine as I'm still in a lot of back pain and having leg issues too. I did organise a surprise Zoom call to two of my husband's nieces and their families in the early hours this morning (who live between Sweden and Finland) - and we were able to watch the little kids open our presents which was cool. Enjoy the rest of your day.
