GUNNA HAVE FAR TOO MANY!

While out in the garden on Sunday, we checked out the grape vine.

OMG...

ABOVE:  We are gunna be inundated with grapes!

Stew will need to get some netting to cover them, so the birds don't get more than us.

NOW, who knows what you can do with excess grapes?

I can give some away of course (and will), but is there anything you can make (not wine!) with them?

I'd like to think we will have less wastage this year.  Last year we simply couldn't eat them all, or give them away.

This morning I'm going out to find a couple of things for this evening's Card Night.

We are supposed to look 'festive', so I'm going to find something to wear, like flashing earrings or similar.

And of course, I will grab some yummies for our shared supper too.

Then I will come home and carry on with my sewing.

ABOVE:  We have to watch this one like a hawk.  Every chance she gets, she shoots out the door and takes off down the road.  She's a worry.

Luckily she's only managed to escape once since we moved here.

Right, I'm off to start me day.

Catch ya later.

ONWARD...

12 noon... and I've had a good morning shopping for this evening.

I found a few options for my 'festive' cheer for tonight.

But am thinking the best option is the coloured lights on the two little christmas trees on the dining room table!

Derrr.  Already had them.

Never mind.  I managed to grab a few things for a 'Family Christmas Box', so I'm happy with my shopping trip.

Once home, Lacy called in for left overs.  She ended up having to make a sandwich cos we don't have many left overs now days.  I'm finally learning how to cook JUST ENOUGH.

About bloody time!

And now... I'm in the sewing room.  Will be here for the next 6 hours, then off to cards.

ABOVE: These are the lights and baubles I did find today.  Not quite enough.

I will show you the finished result later on, once I have me face on!  😄😊😉

2.02 pm: And I'm going well here in the sewing room.  I've just finished another Heart runner, and I'm thrilled with it.

I used a border fabric I wasn't too sure about, but now that it's done? What do YOU think?

ABOVE:  I think it's neat!  While there isn't a lot of blue in the hearts, it picks up what's there.

I'm going to do one more like that.  Mostly cos I only have enough of that fabric to do one more (let's be honest!).

My mind is going around in circles today.  Mostly good circles.  I hug close to me some things me and Mum talked about when I first arrived in Australia, things that eventually I will be able to act on.  It's going to give me so much PLEASURE to do exactly what she wanted me to do.

Until that days comes, my lips are sealed.

Right, back to me sewing.

ABOVE:  And there we have a little video of me Card Night get up.  Brylee did a good job of securing the fairy lights on my head.

ABOVE:  The full outfit.
I'm now ready to go out... having closed my little shop early so I could get myself dressed and decorated.

GUESS WHAT?
Card night is ... NEXT WEEK!

I arrived at Sue's house, walked in, all lights flashing to find Sue and her husband on the couch watching TV.
I thought I was early...

Sue said "Hi Chris, how lovely to see you, don't you look lovely!".
And I said... "Thanks, I decided to do the lights and baubles well".

Then she told me Card Night is next week.
I felt like a right twit.

So... I left them with some donuts, and headed home.  But not before stopping in at Steve and Bex's, to show the little boys my flashing lights.

I knocked on the door and the boys ran to open it.

Dante said "Hello Gra.....(shocked silence) ... OH WOW!"  The look on their faces was priceless!

I left the remainder of my donuts there and got home in time to watch Coronation Street Bloopers.  To be followed by Coronation Street, 60 Years.

Bliss.
Loving the Coro Street binge!
Signing off now so I can keep watching.
Catch ya tomorrow.

Oh. Emm. Gee. That vine is blinkin' out of this world. You could hold a photo shoot with your vines as a backdrop...am thinking along the lines of gladiator/roman emperors! Am sure you could run up a few togas and then you and Stew could pose :) Totally amazing and I've never seen anything like it!

I would put them out the front with a sign saying help yourself but leave some of others. There's not a lot you can do with grapes. We freeze some and use them like ice cubes and what we don't eat we leave outside our house for others.

Have you got a juicer.? Grape juice is nice and fresh for long summer drinks. I use a few in salads too. Frozen grapes are good to use as icecubes in drinks. Roasted grapes with pork is nice too. They go all 'jam like'. I miss my grapevine. Also make grape jelly jam?
Have a good rest of your day. KarenAK

Put them at the end of your driveway with a "FREE" sign.

  10. Love, love, love the heart runner. I think this pattern would be perfect as an oblong pillow cushion as well.
As for the grapes, they do freeze well and make a nice snack. Have fun at cards. :)

  24. I really love your new heart runner with the blue border. What a terrific idea on the flashing lights in the hair. I will have to remember that. Did the flashing lights run on battery? That's what I think. Your story of showing up a week early for the festive card playing night is so funny. Still, you were able to give your friends and little grandsons a display that I'm sure they won't forget. ha!
