It's Saturday, lets hope it's a good one.

Kids in bed for a cuddle at 7 am. Then up, tidy up, bacon & eggs for there breakfast, washing on, dishwasher done, dog played with sorted etc, etc etc. I have just spoken with the ICU nurse and Chris had a good night and appears a lot better this morning. Doctor due to do his rounds shortly and then will know a bit more. At this stage they are hopeful that she will be well enough to go up to a ward later on today, so I will keep you all posted when I can during the day.

Well it's now 7.30 pm and what a day. I have been up with Chris this morning, then took kids & Steve, Mike & Abby to lunch, then back up to Chris. Steve & Mike took turns at looking after the kids for me so that was a really great help and much appreciated guys, thanks.
So Chris is on the road to recovery, which will no doubt take a bit longer than we originally thought. She is still very sore and tired. Late this arvo most of the wires/tubes etc were taken off her and she was moved up to a ward. The bleeding seems to have been stopped and she is able to manage most of the pain with a self medicating system. She is taking sips of water now and has managed to hold most of it down. Hopefully a good nights sleep will give her a lift so that she is feeling a bit better tomorrow and it will help her recovery.
She is in Palmerston North hospital ward 27 room 9.
Well that's it for now folks. Thank you for all your wishes, I am sure Chris will enjoy reading them when she gets home and I will pass them on tomorrow when I see her. I will update tomorrow.

Nite Nite from Stew.

Oh goodness i'm sor sorry to read of the complications. Let her know we are all thinking of her and she is in our thoughts and prayers. I was in hospital for 6months last year including 2 ICU stays, they are hard for everyone involved, however one thing i found was that when i got news from the outside world (emails, comments, text messages) it really cheered me up and gave me strength. Maybe you could print out all the comments for Chris, so she knows how many of us are willing her on for a speedy recovery. Sending you all big hugs

  17. I was really sad to hear about all the hassles and drama that Chris went through yesterday, and yourself. I know it can be a draining thing waiting to hear and not knowing. But for poor Chris I'm just so sorry she had to go through all that. I hope today brings better news and she's feeling a lot better. Definitely no pain. Hang in there all of you it's only up from here.

Lots of prayers and best wishes are coming your way.

  18. Hi Chris and Stew,
Just logged on thinking I would be reading that everything went to plan and you were at home being waited on hand and foot, but nooooooo you don't do ANYTHING by halves do you. (some people will do anything for a rest and a bit of attention,,,lol)
You know I'm only kidding, hope its all sorted now and they send you home with a boot full of the 'good stuff' to keep the pain away.
Thinking of you and hope you have a speedy recovery from here on in.

  27. OK, eating ice chips and being sent to a regular room where she'll be not fussed over as much HAS to be a good thing. Thank you so much, Stew, for posting these updates and letting everyone know what's up.

Hoping she will be up walking a little soon and eating some breakfast. Thoughts and prayers with you all.
