DAY SEVEN QUARANTINE - AUCKLAND

At 6 pm tonight I will be half way through this Quarantine.

HALF WAY to freedom.

HALF WAY to ending this really, really horrible time.

HALF WAY to getting hugs from my Stew (and other family of course)... but mostly I want hugs with Stew.

I fear when we do finally get together again we will just cry.  IN fact, I know we will.

We have never been apart this long in our entire 35 years together.

I have missed him dreadfully, and I know he has missed me just as much.

I have been meaning to show you the 'night' view, from the bonus window outside my room.

ABOVE:  Not very good through a window, but as you can see, it's a very nice view.

Today I am going to spend as much time as I can walking around the 'lobby' walking area.  I've had enough of being in my room.

The past couple of days I really have just stayed in my room moping or stressing out.  But enough of that.  My butt is getting sore just sitting all day!

Yesterday's drama is still ongoing and will be for a while I'd say.  As there is NOTHING I can do from inside here, I have to let it go, and not let it get me down.

I can support 'people' via my phone and with messages, it's the best I can do.

ONWARD...

Steve goes to hospital today for his 2nd Infusion.  He is feeling SO MUCH BETTER since his first one.  We are all so relieved.

Lacy goes to hospital today for an ultrasound on her boob. She had a mammogram on Monday... which has shown nothing sinister.  The ultrasound is just an added 'double check'.  She's been a worry with this for over a month.

Like I needed any more worry!

It looks like my 'NO MORE MEALS' has gone through to the kitchen staff.  No breakfast for me at the door.  YES!

Now I can just rely on myself.

ABOVE:  All ready for infusion # 2.  By now in fact, he should be about half way through it.

Been yakking on the phone for last hour... just touching a few bases.

Got a lot of bases to keep in contact with!

1.17 pm, and I've just spent 90 minutes walking around in circles in the lobby walking area.  Listening to music on me phone.

BORED SHITLESS.

LONELY.

TIRED.

Gunna have a friggin nap.

ABOVE:  It was 'Dress Up as your favourite book/movie character day' at Keera's school today.  She went as Elsa.  Cute kiddo.

SO.  Seems the kitchen are gunna ignore my request.

I got dinner again tonight.

And guess what?

After asking over and over again...

ABOVE:  The bastards gave me the EXACT same dinner that they sent up on Day TWO!  With Cauliflower, Broccoli and Carrots!!!

(*photo from Day Two, cos I didn't think to take a photo before eating the Cannelloni!)

So anyway... I rang Client Services and was VERY QUIET AND POLITE, and told them if they HAD to send me food, PLEASE no Cauliflower, Broccoli and FUCKING CARROTS!

I didn't lose my temper, I didn't yell... I just quietly stated that I could not eat it.

The girl was so very lovely and apologetic.  She even offered to send up an alternative dinner, which I politely refused. (god knows how bad it would have been!).

I am assured I will not get said vegetables AGAIN.  Let's wait and see.

OH and seeing as I got a dinner, let's rate it.

I give it 6/10, because the cannelloni was rather nice!

Again, I have a pounding headache, which I am 100% sure is stress related.  I'm not sick.

8.31 pm:  After dinner I went down to the Lobby and walked the loop for an hour.  It was nice being out of my room.

There were two Indian mums there with toddlers, it was difficult maintaining the 2 meter gap between us with the two bubs running around I must say!

But it just made it more interesting really! lol

Sad to think playing dodge with two toddlers was entertaining.

Once back in my room I had a chat with Stew, which I do every night.

Now?  Meh.  Probably watch something on YouTube before going to bed.

Catch ya tomorrow.

That view is stunning, very pretty. I can only imagine how hard it's been for you and Stew. You are soulmates. I've been on my own for nearly as long as you've been married.but I've had a few hugs from Stew and they're the "everything going to be alright" hugs. I'm sure you will have lots of tears and hugs but you were there for your mum at the worst time of her life. Love kj

  3. You have had a lot on your plate - sadly, none of it was decent food.
It's great to see Steve looking healthier and hear that Lacy's mammogram came back ok. Little by little things are getting better for you and in less than a week you will be back with the ones you love more than anything in the world and everything will seem less challenging as you face life together. You have done an amazing job over the past few months and your strength in dealing with it all has been phenomenal. I know you feel like you are breaking at times but you are one strong cookie and have been such an inspiration for so many of us.

  4. What a beautiful view from your window. You have so many worrisome things to deal with, but some good news in the mix, with Steve feeling better and Lacy and some good test results. Be well.

You really are probably the strongest person 'I know' I really do not think I would have fared as well over the last couple of months if i was faced with the same, I really do admire your strength and courage. But just remember its always okay not to be okay....this is your blog, vent and express as much as you need too I personally look forward to your updates! I wish there was something I could do for you to make your time in there easier / better..... Take care, Tania
