PAMPER TIME

Today I am going to the local hair salon, for a colour.

I know exactly what I want.

Time will tell if I get it.

The last time I was really, really happy with a hair colour was back in Cambridge, in January 2017!

ABOVE: That is what I want again.

So, today I am taking a photo of that hair colour with me!  Fingers crossed they can replicate it.

The appointment isn't until after lunch, so damned if I know what I will get up to until then.

Actually, I do know what I will do.

I'll go to The Base and see if I can find a plain black cardigan to wear when it's chilly.

I didn't get there yesterday.  Freakin' visitors!

The Christmas shopping is still on hold.  I've decided it would be a good idea to go with said grandchildren's MOTHERS, so I don't end up getting something they already have.

Good thinking eh?

And that is all I have for now.  I'll be back, later.

ONWARD...

It's later. 10.50 am in fact.

I went down to the mall, wandered around till i realised cardigans were not to be found,

So I decided to get a new calendar for next year and a cordless phone charger.

My last phone crapped out on me purely because I could no longer plug the charger into it and have it work.

So, the latest innovation is cordless chargers.  Love it!

ABOVE:  I went to Noel Leeming's first for the charger, but they assured me it would not work with the phone cover I have (Defender), as it was too thick.

So I wandered over to SPARK, and they kindly offered to test it out before I bought one from them.   Obviously it worked, cos I bought one off them.

Now I should have no trouble charging my phone and protecting the charging port.

I've just had my sandwich for lunch as I won't be home later on.  I'm still loving my Burgen bread/hummus/ham/cheese and onion relish sandwiches.

OH  ... I just remembered this:

ABOVE:  WHO in their right mind walks into a busy mall with what looks like a REAL GUN?  I am presuming it was an imitation/child's toy, but still.

I was gobsmacked.  It looked damn real to me.

And now, it's time to head off to the hairdressers.  Wish me luck.

Or not ... pfffft!

ABOVE:  Four hours later.... and the hair is exactly how I wanted it.  AND it was half the price I expected!  SCORE.

Subtle change, but more from the front.  Only ya don't get a 'front' shot cos I'm really, really tired, have no make up and look haggard.

After the hair was done I went to the supermarket for some supplies as we have a few family members here for dinner tonight.

OMGosh, we had a really wonderful dinner tonight!

I 'cheated' and bought a few ready made salads from the supermarket, and cold meats.  I also baked some bread rolls in the oven, the ones that come par-cooked, and all you have to do is heat them for 5 minutes in a hot oven.

SO YUM!  We also had some pork marinated steaks and little cheerios for the little boys.

ABOVE:  Steve has a pair of swimming shorts at our's permanently now.  Just as well... he jumped in to cool off after dinner tonight.

He said the water was 'pretty fresh'!

Yeah, still too cold for me.

ABOVE:  The little boys teaching Griffin how to play 'Chopsticks'.  I've never seen or heard of it before, but it seems like a good 'thinking' game.

Right, I'm just so tired, I will be going to bed early tonight.  I have been awake since 4 am.

My mother makes note of the formula each time she has her hair colored. Then she has the exact information. (It is also possible your 2017 salon has the color noted in their client system, might be worth a call.)

  2. I love that hair colour Chris! That is pretty much what I have too. My hairdresser is an awesome blonde specialist - shame she is up here in Auckland because I would definitely recommend her!

  4. I am happy you are allowing yourself this pampering. I just got my hair cut and colored a week ago. I am a major cheapskate - so I don't do that often. Once every couple of years. But I think it truly is better to go to a salon, unless you are doing it all one color. Which is boring! So - go and get pampered and enjoy every second of it! I hope they give you a hand massage while the color sits!

  5. Good luck with the hair colour :-).

WTF is with the toy (I assume) gun??? I am surprised there was not a full Armed Offenders call out.

  6. Your hair looks so pretty. It is so pretty and straight, and in great condition. I really like your color and length. My hair has grown out so much my blondness is gone. I like to do it myself, because the scents that the products in the salon use are too strong for me. I haven't been able to color my hair in months due to various medical problems. The last time I was in a salon to get my hair cut and styled was way back in March. I can trim my own bangs, but the rest of my hair is now a couple of inches below shoulder length. I don't mind it being long now that it is cold weather, Here in St. Louis, Missouri, the Covid is skyrocketing. The biggest hospital in Missouri is overflowing with Covid patients and they are sending adult covid patients to be cared for at the children's hospital next door to them. So I probably won't be going to a hair salon anytime soon.

I am thinking that might be a toy gun, and the parent got tired of the child poking around with it and is just carrying it, or maybe I am just used to seeing the way some our US citizens carry huge weapons around for no good reason that I know of, just because they can, I suppose.

  15. Jeezus that would have scared me! The hood over the head and the other child in camo does not help with the overall effect. Why would you take a toy like that out in public. Plus it is illegal to carry a replica weapon so could land them in trouble with the law (will in Aus not sure about NZ). LOVE the hair. I always feel so much better when I get my blonde touched up!
