PROGRESS ON THE VAN

Yesterday Steve started work on making some inside fittings for his work van.
Progress was fairly slow ...

ABOVE: it took him quite a while to get the floor done, and today I think he's still got to bolt it down before making his raised platform and drawers.

But, I'm sure it will be awesome once he's finished it.

Dante is NOT going to thank me for this photo one day:

ABOVE:  Blame his mother for doing it, I didn't give him a pig tail!  His face kinda says it all eh?  lol

ABOVE:  Two hands are better than one... yes? He is predominantly left handed though.
And the sunglasses.  He loves his glasses.  He's now got two sets.

Today ... IF the paint is dry enough I shall re-hang the cupboard doors.  I'm not sure yet though if they are ready.  I'll check in a couple more hours I think.
I can't wait to see them back on the cupboards, and to show you the colour I chose as a contrast to all the others.

Any guesses?

ONWARD...

Well I think the cupboards might be set/dry enough to go back on by late afternoon, so I should be able to show you the finished contrasting cupboards by dinner time.

In the mean time, I've painted one with something 'different' again!  That one won't be ready to reveal till tomorrow.

I hope I've chosen the right colour... eeekkk, feeling nervous now.

Stew is thinking of taking the kids to the beach sometime this coming week, they are gagging to go.
Yet more sightings of a great white shark in our area is enough to keep me and Stew out of the water though!

I'm thinking of doing some more sewing this afternoon, rather that sit watching paint dry.

ABOVE:  So there has been some progress.  It doesn't look like much, but as Steve's a perfectionist, it's taken him hours to get this far.  He took a good couple of hours to get the floor fixed down securely, then make the framing.  I suppose next weekend he will work on it some more ... make the drawers etc.

Tomorrow he's back to work... poor bugger.

The heat today has been super ikkk, with heavy clouds and threatening rain.  It's 29 C in our lounge, which is 84 F, with a humidity of 60%.
Not very comfortable.

Bex is cooking dinner tonight, Spag Bol.  I'm having some seafood salad.

Then I shall be sewing some more.  This afternoon I managed to get 4 more mug rugs quilted, so tonight I should get the bindings on.

OH!   The cupboards will be going back on tonight, so I shall have photos of them tomorrow.

I can't stop smiling.  Steve is re-hanging the doors for me.  And they look so lovely!  I am thrilled to bits.

Photos all loaded and ready for tomorrow's post.  I can't wait for you to see them.

End of Day: another awesome summer's day. A bit sticky and hot, but still bearable.
I'm spending the evening quietly doing a jig saw on the computer and every so often looking at the kitchen!  *smiles*
nite nite
