Morning!  I slept in...... it's 10 am!!!

Well, that CUTE Bag's pattern is certainly doing the rounds now!
I had a girlfriend call in yesterday for it, I'm sending one to Singapore shortly, a girlfriend in Wellington wants it... anyone else???

It is super easy to make, the only 'tricky' part is the threading of the cord at the end, you have to do it 'right' so it opens and closes properly!  If I can do it, anyone can!  lol

ABOVE:  this here is one I'm working on right now... can't show you any more as it's a present for someone ...

Today:  probably go get a few more bits and bobs that I need to finish more bags!  Lunch at the mall.... maybe some housework (IkkkK)... just the usual sorta Saturday.

I plan on catching up with all the blogs I've missed lately over the weekend too!  Hang in there, I ain't forgotten ya!  *smiles*

ONWARD....  Yesterday I had a friend from my 'old' patchwork class call in... and she told me about a shop in Manukau (just down the road) that sells craft/sewing stuff... and had a HUGE variety.... so we popped in there this morning.

OH. MY. G*D!!!  This place is freakin amazing!!! (Cavendish Drive, Manukau, beside Super Cheap Auto)  AND I found masses of things that I do use at much better prices... and much more variety... OMG you should see the buttons, laces, cords, bits and bobs!!!!
I have 'booked' out all of MONDAY to browse through all of it without Stew and the Kids.

ABOVE:  I did manage to buy a few things while there today... the fabric is a heavy weight cotton canvas... I am hoping it will be suitable for bags!

When Stew dragged me out of there... we left there we went to Sylvia Park for lunch...   finally home now and I'm going to have a 'nana nap' with me feet elevated... my feet, particularly the right one, are all puffy (ikkkk)  so I need to put them up.  Yaaaaaa.

End of Day: and it's been a really NEAT as day!  I can't wait to go back to David's Emporium on Monday!!!   nite nite.

  1. Hey chris

Just wondering how much you would charge for one of those bags?
I know several people who could use them as gifts.

  2. How fun that you have created a traveling bag, and quite a compliment to you.

  3. Me, me, me please? I would love a copy of the pattern.... I was thinking it would make a great nappy bag!!
Once I have finished the baby room curtains, I might make me one too :)

  4. Oh I would love a copy. going to make some tissue box covers this weekend all going well.

God I wish I was that clever to follow that pattern but alas, no I am definitely not... just reading made my tummy turn in knots!!

Guess what? I was a friggin David's Emporium this morning... cannot believe it!!! I didn't see you coz I would've said hello.... freaky though huh??? We were only in the dress up side though by the counter)....

What's more freaky is the fact that we have a lunch tomorrow and I thought I am going to come back here BY MYSELF on MONDAY!!! Wow! Might see you there....

Ahhh.... we should meet for a coffee.

Anyhoo - laters.... am trying to get MADAM into bed and having all sorts of troubles....

Sounds like you were in heaven in that new shop! The staff might have to follow you around with a mop and bucket because you'll be drooling so much! My cousin visited me the other day (she is a sewing nut too) and she had a stay open bag that she made. I love the blue one with the green button that you showed yesterday. Very hippy chick! WOMBAT

  8. I wish we had more craft places around here! All that is left is Michael's and Joann's.
