Blogger won't let me move the photos above so... Above is the picture I painted for Brylee's room ... and it in the room !

Hmmm, just remembered, I did an interview for the above website... pop over and have a gawk if you are inclined. It has my weight loss story and a few others worth reading.

TODAY: Kids to school, walk with Izzy and Janet, gym for whole body workout.... then check out some options for volunteer work. Hope I can find something interesting and rewarding!

I went down to the local Citizen's Advice Office, they did not have a list of Volunteer Jobs or ANYTHING... handed me the phone book and said "Check out the Community Organisations" in here.... so went home and did just that! I could help fundraise for some people.... or drop off leaflets in letterboxes ....none of which appeals.... or .... I am talking to a lady tomorrow from a local hospice who takes on volunteers to do a variety of things within the hospice... something that does appeal! So fingers crossed they
- Want me
- Have a job for me
- It's not boring !

Feeling quite positive about that! Was feeling rather despondent there for a while, no one seemed to have anything that involved being around other people... which is what I want. And if I can be helping someone, even better.

I know people that do knitting for the prem babies at the hospital, If you like knitting them that would be a good idea.
I am impressed with the work the wellington city mission does with collecting food for the food banks I wonder if you could do something to help a food bank??? Just a few thoughts.

  11. Love the pic. Did you do it on a canvas or on hardboard?

There are so many organisations in our community that do provide wonderful support systems, that quite simply would not exist if it wasn't for the time put in by volunteers.

Giving of yourself is also food for your soul.

  16. I like Brylee's picture very much.

Thanks for answering the question about the water. I don't know though, I think I might have to give up bathing if the water was brown!

  17. Love the painting, it finishes off the room very nicely.I'm sure the hospice will take you with open arms they'd be screaming for some help. I would also try your hospitals, out here they have "volunteer mums and nanas" to give the babies and toddlers some TLC when theor own mum or nana is not around to do it.
Re: your comment on the dog halter - I use one already !!

  18. I thought of something that may suit you!! A woman I knew through gym ended up working with I think the hospital helping overweight teenagers and adults assisting them starting in the gym. I quite suire she got paid for it. She ended up with several clients she was helping - I'm sure it would be quite rewarding. And I also KNOW you would be great at something like this!

Love the painting. LOL Peter thought you actually bought the one you gave us!! He doesn't listen and it was a while before he clicked you painted it and he was impressed!!!

  20. The room looks fantastic especially now the painting is up. You clever thing!!! Is there anything you aren't good at?????????? LOL

Good luck with looking for volunteer work. I would have loved to have been a midwife but left my run too late. And I HATE studying so that could have been a problem me thinks.
