TGIF.
It's been a long, damn busy week.
Late yesterday I condensed stuff in the three 'spare bedroom' wardrobes.
I wanted to use them for storing boxes of our stuff, prior to moving.
I don't really want to have to hire a storage facility if I don't have to.
So, back to the wardrobes. I got two completely emptied, and can now put quite a few boxes in them.
I found this in one of the wardrobes:
ABOVE: And I'm thinking, pack away ?, or leave out? 😂😅😜Like, what would house viewers think of him?
Personally, I think he's hysterical.
Now, back to my plans for today?
Packing up those things I put on the kitchen bench yesterday, and anything else I can find.
I might even make a start on packing up fabrics I won't be needing/using in the next few months.
I did listen to everyone about the decluttering, and how much I was doing.
They can both be moved out of the way for new photos next week.
9.30 am, and I've made a little dent in packing more shit.
I've already filled two biggish boxes with the blue glass, some china and glass ware etc. By the time we actually move, there won't be that much I need to pack!
I'm not going to put my fabric into boxes now, I will keep it out for packing.
We got the lawyers bill for the cancelled contract we had on a new home for us. YES, we had found and put a contract on a home. But we cancelled it, as we realised we were paying far too much for it in the current market. We'd offered them almost full asking price.
So with what we have already paid for marketing and the lawyers bill... we've just WASTED $3,000!
I'm so gutted.
Next week we will have to fork out even more money for the new Real Estate Agency's marketing fees. FUCK.
Christmas dinner will be ham sandwiches my family!
ABOVE: but ya know what? Looking at this angelic little face (and my other darling grandchildren), I can't be unhappy for long.
They make life all worthwhile.
Now... what else can I pack away???
Now... what else can I pack away???
ABOVE: I was going to dismantle this desk ... but have decided it is surplus to requirements now. So I listed it on Marketplace. Let's see if it goes.
Dumm dee doo... such fun downsizing I tell ya!
*SNORT* I just got an offer on the table... it was a scam. NO one is going to pay to have that table transported to BLUFF!!! Bluff is at the bottom of the South Island... that is 1,534 kms away! What a dick. They just wanted my bank account details.

Seriously, why would anyone believe them?
11.39 am: And two more boxes have been filled. Mostly kitchen glassware, and a few serving dishes. There is not much else I can pack up in the house now!
I looked around the garage, but that's too big a job for now. And we are still using lots of that stuff, particularly in the laundry area. Cleaners etc. But I'm happy with what I did get done this morning.
Now I can relax again, and just twiddle me thumbs!
I don't need to sew any more runners for the foreseeable future.
ABOVE: Mc Chook Chook found a new home in the dog's bed. And his hangman's frame got thrown in the rubbish.
Sad. But necessary I concede.
It was funny while it lasted.
I had nothing to do after that packing.
So... I DID GO INTO THE SEWING ROOM!
And I made something.
It isn't quite finished yet, but will be before tomorrow's market.
I'll show it to you in the morning.
I was just thinking, Stew will be home in a minute... then remembered.
He's going to be late as he's attending his 'work Christmas Dinner' this evening.
PARTNERS were not invited, HOW RUDE!
So, what shall I do with myself for the next few hours?
I might just go outside and water a few things that are drooping a bit in the heat, primarily our two tomato plants, the lettuces and cucumbers.
10.05 pm: It's been a very quiet evening here. Stew arrived home safely after a very average Christmas Do. He said I'd not have enjoyed it at all, where they had dinner was super noisy, which I would have hated.
I'm off to bed shortly, another day tomorrow, another market tomorrow.
Bird back in its box. Marie, Melbourne
ReplyDeleteDefinitely lay the chicken to rest!😆
ReplyDeleteBird in the bin...lol...Peta
ReplyDeleteI have had the same scam happen. A friend of mine actually fell for it. So they sent her payment of some sort for about $200 too much, and asked her to send them the $200... In the meanwhile the scam was that their payment would take a few days to "bounce" and you sent them the 200. Anyhow - she did not fall for the rest of the scam and turned the paperworrk in to the police.
ReplyDeleteIF i WAS A BUYER POKING AROUND IN THE CLOSETS AND i SAW THAT CHICKEN - I would laugh my ass off!
Good bye, chicken.
ReplyDeleteLily is adorable.
ReplyDeleteFYI we had ham sandwiches for Christmas lunch for many years when our family went camping so it is perfectly acceptable 😊🤞😁
ReplyDeletePartners weren't invited to hubby's work christmas shindig either. It's lunch and barefoot bowls next thursday
ReplyDeleteI’m all for not inviting partners to Christmas parties. They only talk about work, boring as. Marie, Melbourne
ReplyDeleteI 100% agree. Very boring and a bit awkward if you know too much.

You're right, that redhead can make any day bright. Hell, I didn't realise changing houses was such a hassle and so expensive. You have a beautiful home, looks great, really well looked after. What's wrong with people. Certainly you don't want to give it away!!!
