WILL WE GET A FIRM OFFER SEALED?

Well here we are, another day of being on tender hooks!

Will we get an acceptable offer sealed today?  Or will 'they' dick us around some more, and make us wait all day for their decision?

I hope they don't do that, but I'm prepared for it.

In the meantime, I shall wrap some last minute gifts, which I didn't get done the other day due to stress over freakin house shit.

IF it's a fine day, we will get the gazebo and it's walls outside to dry.

I might email the gazebo maker and see if we can buy a replacement leg too.  We don't need to use the gazebo until the end of January ... so we have plenty of time to get it repaired.

8 am:  I forgot to tell you!  Not only do we have this offer in progress, but there's also another buyer in the wings, very interested in our property.
They have a home to sell, so if this sale falls through, there's a 2nd option in the background.

I'm now in the sewing room, about to make a start on my 'towelie'.

ABOVE:  And there ya go, my towelie is done.  Now I can get changed in a public change room and maintain my modesty!  I made it roomy enough to get changed under it.

NO word from our Estate Agent yet.  Might not even happen today.  😖

WTF?
DID YOU THINK
BY USING YOUR
KID YOU COULD
GET IN OUR DOOR?
NEVER
EVER
GOING
TO
HAPPEN.

Yeah, we KNEW there had to be some sort of catch/ulterior motive.  Proved right.

I'm actually enjoying today... so amusing seeing what people will try and do, like we were born yesterday?   😂😅😆  AND there's more.

Our Estate Agent rang and said she has not heard anything from the other side.  Not surprised, as I said, we think they are playing games.  We may be wrong?  But time will tell.

I can almost hear your thoughts from here 😂 as you say, whatever will be will be. We had a long power cut yesterday it was very eerie, similar to what it was like after Cyclone Gabrielle GM 💙💙

  4. From a different perspective Chris I don't think these people are trying to 'dick you around'. They are making a massive life decision and there is a lot to consider when buying a home. I know if it was me buying I would be acting exactly the same - actually we'd be worse knowing how thorough Stu would be :) It's just a stressful situation all round for everyone but soon you'll be a buyer again, exciting times!!

    1. Fair call, but for the fact that they told their agent the house was NOT FOR THEM, as it didn't have this 'n' that, and the pool wasn't how they wanted it, bla bla. Only to then make an offer? but yes, it is a huge decision to make ... and so, we wait.

I agree, weird to have a long list of “don’t like”, be so verbal about it, and then make an offer.

Good luck. Hopefully there’s not a lot of nonsense with the counter offer and they do not ask you to start changing or fixing things.

I agree with Lynda and maybe the realestate shouldn't be telling you everything potential buyers do or say as she obviously got the wrong idea about their intentions and it upsets you. I think your house will sell soon and you will be happy ...Peta

I am so glad that when we were selling our house our Real Estate Agent never told us what potential buyers said unless it was something we could fix.. I still feel it is a ploy on either the potential buyers'' or the Real Estate Agent (for their commission) to bring down the price. Don't stress so much about what people say - it isn't just during this house sale that you have done that. Audrey

I love everything about your towlie- the colour, the binding and the pocket. What a clever sewer you are! Catriona

Oh I love the towlie - I’ve never heard of such a thing! Brilliant. On the house front, I tend to agree with Lynda. Selling a house is stressful buying a house could be more stressful, if that’s even possible. Hope it gets sealed before Christmas. It’s been a massive stressful few months for you.

  7. Good luck with negotiations. Chris I think you should add towlies to your for sale range.

I totally agree with Lynda. You’ll also be a buyer (again) shortly, big decisions and who cares what they said. Hopefully they’re the one is all that matters. Love the towlie, it’s a great idea. Marie, Melbourne

  9. My ten cents worth: (not that you asked for it 😉)

There will be a bunch if people not evening looking for a new house, they will be doing Christamas, having a holiday and when the New Year begins and they are back at work they will then start to go house shopping. I personally would not be house shopping this close to Christmas for the reasons you pointed out: too hard to get a builders report, all the statutory holidays, lawyers offices being closed between Christmas & New Year etc.

Also, I think the mortgage interest rates will drop a bit in February so this will stimulate people to go house shopping that aren't looking this week/last week.

As you say, what will be, will be!!

Did I understand that right? The people interested in your house tried to use their kid to get in???? That's weird.
