But do things I must. Like get ready for market at Tamahere.
Our last market for the year, thank god. It's been a lot, what with trying to sell our home as well during the busy time of the year.
At least once we are set up we can sit and 'relax' for a few hours right?
I had another terrible night's sleep. Just can't get over those viewers dicking us around yesterday. Thank goodness we now get a break for a couple of weeks.
ONWARD...
The rain gods are being nice.... so far.
We are supposed to have thunder storms and rain, but so far, nothing. We have blue skies!!!@
ABOVE: We have less out today, just in case it does start raining.
Bring it on...people I mean 😂😃😆.
OMG do I have some surprising news! More when we get home from market...
1.42 pm, home from market.
And this is how our day has gone:
1. It didn't rain like it was supposed to, UNTIL 12 noon.
ABOVE: And then it absolutely BUCKETED DOWN!!! Luckily we had made a decent amount of sales by then, cos after that, the market died a natural death.
2. Packing up, and our neighbour backed into our gazebo. Luckily I didn't do what I instinctively thought of doing, which was step between her car and our gazebo.
3. Mid morning I got a phone call from our Real Estate Agent.
Those people from yesterday, who bad mouthed our home? Made a bloody offer today didn't they!
And it was a fairly decent offer too. We are now in negotiations, re: Price and settlement date. They want a very early settlement, which won't work considering time frames for public holidays, lawyers, builders report etc. So .. it's a work in progress.
4. On our way home, on the expressway, doing 110 kmph. We were in the outside lane, about to pass by a big truck.
Next thing...
ABOVE: On our left, out of NOWHERE, screams past a car, which swerved right in front of us, passing us, AND the truck, in one foul move!
The road was wet. It was soooo close to hitting us I almost said goodbye to me bladder!!! I was shocked to the core.
It would have been a disaster if he hadn't managed to squeak through the very small gap.
I never want to be that close to having a massive accident again.
Sadly I couldn't get his number plate because he was simply going too fast!
IT. HAS. BEEN. A. DAY. And now I just feel wrung out and jumpy as fuck.
7.24 pm: we've had a nice, quiet afternoon. Heard from our amazing Estate Agent twice this afternoon. Our counter offer was given verbally to 'their' Estate Agent, and they are now 'considering it'.
We don't expect to hear back this evening, they seem to like to play games.
We are not engaging in games, we will just hang in there until they come back with either a slightly higher number, or they back out. Either way, I'm trying not to get me tits in a knot.
What will be will be.
And that is it from me for the day. I'm feeling much chiller now... just had dinner and now going to settle down for a bit of shit TV! Seriously, there is bugger all worth watching on the telly.
Catch ya tomorrow.
Terrible 60's! That's good!
ReplyDeleteBummer about the deadbeat buyers!
Terrible 60's ! ?? You must be right. What are the 70s I hope they're better. Kj
ReplyDeleteLovely stall set up. Hope you have a great day.
ReplyDeleteVickie
It sounds very stressful having open homes...I guess people are looking to find a property that suits them, just like we all would...spending a lot on a home probably makes people more picky ...don't lose sleep, someone will love your home...just like you did and still do....I hope you have a good market....Peta
ReplyDeleteI am sorry those buyers were jerks. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm excited now! Kj
ReplyDeleteDon't tell me... the people that came for a 2nd viewing have made a cheeky offer. That's my guess.
ReplyDeleteHa, I figure their tactic is to point out as many of the "bad points" to make you think your house isn't "AMAZING" and then while you're feeling wounded come back with a their low ball offer... gosh this is going to be a "memorable" Christmas! Good luck with dealing with all the emotions, what a roller coaster of emotions you're experiencing! Perhaps a wee tipple to help you sleep a bit better tonight!
DeleteWell it has been a day hasn’t it. Seems like the buyers were trying too hard not to look like they want your house 😂😂
ReplyDeleteMan, that has been a day for you. Sit back and maybe have a hot chocolate and relax. Fingers crossed for the negotiations on the house!! Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteI am crossing everything I can to send the positive vibes to the negotiations
ReplyDeleteTypical buyers, they didn't want to seem keen to get the price down probably. Where will stay until you can buy? Regarding driving, we see it all in the motorhome. There are some real idiots out there and it's not them I care about but the kids in their car or the innocent people they crash into.
ReplyDeleteGrez what a day and thank God you're OK. The truck would have caught him on a dash cam I hope.
ReplyDeleteGood news about the house. I hope it works out for you.
I felt alright so I went to supermarket to get a few things. Came home, put groceries in porch and turned to get my jacket out of back sear and fell. Landed on my butt but think I've sprained my foot waiting on ambulance to help me inside. Kj
Wow what a 24hrs with the potential buyers. Fingers crossed you get a sale. OMG the drive home would have been so scary. Glad it didn't result in an accident.
ReplyDeleteOMG what a day! I wouldn’t venture out anywhere else today. Stay safe at home. So who was telling lies or stretching the truth yesterday? The agent? The viewers? Mmmm
ReplyDeleteWHOA! You have had quite the day! Lot's to think about with an actual offer.....
ReplyDeleteThat car sounds like it was stolen, being driven like that
ReplyDeleteI thought the house buyers were going to do that - best of luck
ReplyDeleteOops Anne -palmy
ReplyDeleteGood call on not playing games!! Clearly they want it. I'm guessing if the settlement date to be early/quick it's cos they want the pool for summer 🤣
ReplyDeleteI hope you get a good nights' sleep 🤞
A day of shocks all right! I'd be shaky after that bloody stupid motorist almost totalled you! Glad you're safe.
ReplyDeleteGood on you for sticking to your guns. Your beautiful house is worth the highest price you can get. You've put so much work and love in it.
woohoooo on the offer! That happens all the time on the freeway here. People drive like crazy people who stole a car or something. RIP your tent. Hope you can get another leg. Mine always break at the top (usually when my daughter borrows it...)
ReplyDeleteGreat news on receiving an offer! Oh how I hate those damn back & forth negotiations but it is a very positive sign. I remember how on the last house we sold we had about 3 weeks to move. The buyers really wanted us to consider moving even faster. I am happy for you.
