I have decided to make 2-3 square table toppers, as I sold the only one I've made on Saturday. Several ladies checked it out and expressed interest, until it sold.
So, while I don't need to make a bloody thing as I have good stock, I just CANNOT do nothing!
It does my head in doing nothing.
I will make a Red/Green one, then I'm not sure what colourways to do next. They will not be BIG table toppers, just the same size as the first one.
At our next market, at the end of January, I can take our small square trestle table, and have them on it, one on top of the other.
I'll need to make a white tablecloth for that table as well, for display purposes.
So ya, I have something to do.
I'm going first thing this morning to get the last minute things for Christmas Day. Mostly the perishables. Hopefully the supermarket isn't too crazy!
Then I have an appointment (secret squirrel type) later on this morning as well.
So, I will have a good, busy day.
ABOVE: I found a tiny little bird yesterday afternoon. I think it's a Wax Eye. Too young to fly properly yet. I scooped it up and brought it inside.
ABOVE: I've given it some little bits of worm, and some water ... but it will probably die. I'm no bird whisperer, but I will try.
ABOVE: Our plum tree is HEAVILY laden with fruit. One big branch broke off over the weekend, so Stew had to take it off. Hopefully we don't lose any more branches.
In other news, still nothing from the people who put in an offer on Saturday.
The people who had a private viewing last Wednesday want anther viewing soon as well. They have a home to sell in another town, and will be putting it on the market after the New Year. So, things are ticking along.
Something will happen eventually.
It is actually 5.45 am. We got up at 5.30 to feed the baby bird.
ABOVE: Stew is chopping up a worm, cos if I do it I want to throw up! Baby bird is still alive, and rather likes chopped up worm.
Did that work? Trying to upload a 'SHORT'... of baby bird.
Yaaa, third attempt worked.
I've got a Christmas Cake in the oven. One biggish job getting done. The last presents are wrapped and under the tree as well.
I'm having a good morning so far.
Last night Stew dug several really BIG holes in the gardens, trying to find worms for baby.
He only found ONE. Baby has eaten all of it.
So I went out just now and found some mealworms at Animates in town. At our local branch they didn't have any.
So now Baby has enough food to hopefully grow up enough to fly away in a week or two.
And luckily, Baby can eat a whole mealworm, I don't have to chop it up and feel sick.
My Christmas Cake has about an hour to go... it's smelling rather yum I must say.
12.06 pm: Cake is done, taste tested and it passed. lol
Secret Squirrel shit done.
Lunch was crackers and some salmon dip. Very nice.
Baby has been fed four times so far today. He's a hungry little bugger. Chirps and squeaks till I fed him, then settles down for a sleep.
Not much else to do right now, I'm half way through making a Table Topper 'top', I'll get back to it later on this afternoon.
For now, I'm having a break.
I'm actually gunna try for a nap, I am so tired. That Baby bird is so demanding! It's like having a new born in the house, seriously.
5 pm: Steve, Bex and the children are here, hanging out in the pool. I took a video, but might not be able to post it as I think I recorded the conversation with our Estate Agent! WHOOPS.
News... we are a full step closer to having sold our home.
Contracts have to be signed, then in about 3? weeks we could be going unconditional and moving by the end of January/Early February.
One step, one big breath at a time .... Stomach is a ball of knots right now.
Right... negotiations are over and we have struck a deal. Signing shit tomorrow all going as planned.
Such a relief. Wish we had changed agents 3 months ago! Only 12 days with Sonia at Lodge and the deal is done! AND she is an amazing communicator, she kept us up to date and informed every single day.
I can't sing her praises enough really.
And now, I have to go and feed Baby, so he/she can settle down for the night.
Cute little birdie!! I've just sat down for an hour as my stollen bread batter is proofing in the oven. I have my #1 grandson here helping me bake this weekend, he's 12. Keep on having a great day and happy almost xmas!! Ky Girl
Oh that's so cute. Must have fallen from a nest?? I can't remember the table topper? Cake yummy. I'm trying to get an ankle brace and only way is to have it couriered. Sad huh? Kj
A friend just successfully raised a baby bird, they fed theirs every two hours. It was younger than yours when they found it. In two weeks it was grown enough to fly away. I agree, yours looks very close to flying. Vickie
That is just too cute. Are you going to get up during the night to feed the poor little bird?? Great news re the house. That will be a fast move if it all goes ahead which is sounding very positive.
And this is just after a week with the new agent? Speaks volumes about the other "agent" who clearly doesn't know how to do her job properly. Well done, and will be crossing my fingers for you ❤️
Oh I think the "baby Bird" is a sign. When something looks not possible - try to stay positive and things will turn around and better times are just around the corner. Fingers, toes and eyes crossed for you guys. You have a concrete Sale. Exciting times and a good ending for the year. Best wishes. Maria (Australia)
Parents to several adult kids, and 14 Grandkids (aged New born (2024), to 23 yrs old). FYI: We have a large 'family', but due to many and various reasons, we only see a few now. It is what it is. Attitudes. Personalities. Narcissism. Grudges. Perceived slights/favouritism. Backstabbing. etc. DAYS. OF. OUR. LIVES. SHIT. So, you get to see those who we choose to see, and those who do still see us as FAMILY, and who love us unconditionally. The rest can live their lives and just leave us alone. Thanks.
WHERE I LIVE:
New Zealand, it's in the South Pacific... and it's NOT a part of Australia! We are home of the All Blacks rugby team, the Kiwi (bird, but can't fly) and lots of bloody neat people!
WHO AM I? Here's where to find out.

ReplyDeleteVery cool! The grand kids will LOVE the bird. Is that a proper baby bird ration? He seems to want more worm bits.
ReplyDeleteGrandkids cannot touch Baby! They can only look. lol
DeleteOh and I have no idea how much to feed Baby, I'm just thinking a little often will do.

ReplyDeleteI think Baby bird tried to fly a wee bit too soon, and fluttered down to the ground. He/she is only a couple of weeks off flying properly I think.
