BACK TO IT

 Back to 'normal' today.

Stews back at work.

I'm back to it.  Housework.  Sewing.  Wifey type duties.

But still enjoying the summer.

First up of the day:

Hang out the washing.

Vacum the house.

Then???

Maybe water the hydrangeas.  I forgot to do that last night and they are again drooping.

*sigh*  😒😖 They really are temperamental in their first few years.  Very water hungry over summer that's for sure. Needy little buggers.

Another goldfish died.  I don't think it liked being sprayed with the hose when I was filling the pond.  I must do better... or get rid of the pond.  Sometimes I feel it's more bother than it's worth.  Stew likes it though, so for now, it stays.

Wondering if we shall hear from the Asphalt Company today?  Last email to them was 18 days ago.  Bearing in mind how shit they are at communication, I'm picking we won't hear from them.

How long should I wait to email them again?  Perhaps give them a week to get back into the swing of things after the holiday break?

I dunno.  I don't want to nag, nag, nag them... but at the same time, not hearing from them is infuriating.

The driveway looks so, so much worse now.  Such an eyesore and disappointment.

9.45 am... and I'm onto it.

Right now I'm out getting my cars oil changed. Just gassed up the car too.
Next will be over to Frankton to pick up the bathroom tiles, then a food grab at the supermarket.

Then home to do the bloody vacuuming.

We've just had some rain! Should try that Rain dance some more.

12.30 pm :

ABOVE:  I finally have the bathroom tiles.  And adhesive and grout.  Next?
Watch a YouTube video on how to put them on.
It's been forever since I did any.
Last time was behind the stove in Palmerston North.

ABOVE:  After picking up the tiles, I went out to Gordonton and picked up an order I'd done online on Friday night.
It is quicker for me to drive out there and pick it up than wait for the courier to deliver it.  And safer.
These cute dogs will become runners and coasters.
The fabric bottom/left is just contrasting fabric in the same line.

They were fairly busy out at Gordonton, quite a few ladies and a couple of poor husbands being dragged along.

On my way home I stopped at the supermarket and bought some lovely meats from New World.

If I have to pop down to Palmy, at least I know I've catered for Stew.

Now?  Relax for a little while.  Vacuming can wait!

So.... I sent an email to the Asphalt company.
And got a message back saying they were closed until the 17th of January.  Faaark.  So... I will send them ANOTHER one next Monday.  Grrrrrrr.

  1. I still think they are hoping your driveway problem will "go away". They don't seem too eager to get paid. A total redo will cost a lot more than what you currently owe so I think they are trying to cut their losses. But - YOU need a proper driveway. Get a second opinion.

    1. I think Chris said they did have someone come out and look and give them an opinion, a while ago.

  2. Chris, how can you possibly think you are nagging the asphalt company when they did a shitty job, and now they're ignoring you! I think it would be in your best interest to not let this go on any longer or they are likely to try and blame it on you. They might pull the old "it's not our fault, you've had cars driving on it too soon" or some kind of crap like that. They sure don't seem very professional. I totally get it that you hate this kind of confrontational thing, but this is kind of a big deal. Dont let them get away with this. You have a beautiful home and you paid good money for a nice driveway, soooo, kick some ass!!

  3. I agree with the others. Email them and say if you don't hear back by Friday you will be contacting your solicitor.
