START THEM YOUNG

ABOVE:  Teaching Miss Muppet vacuuming skills ... it's never too early to learn right? ๐Ÿ˜Š

Today I MUST finish a table runner that's been neglected for days.  It's going to be a present for someone.

Then I'm going to get my car from Steve and Bex's, and maybe pick up a puzzle board?  NO HURRY STEVE!

Then I'm coming home to strip more wallpaper and move my wardrobe contents into the littlest room.

OH did I say I was moving things around in the house again?

LOL... yeah I am.  I can't help myself.  It's an obsession.

I'm moving my wardrobe system into the littlest room, and putting the single bed (with trundle bed under it), in the larger middle bedroom.

That way there is more room for visitors using the single and trundle beds.

I've done about half the move around, so with any luck I'll get more done today.

Last night at around 9 pm, we had a police officer turn up on our doorstep.  When Police turn up at that time of night, you normally think it's BAD NEWS being delivered.

Having just attended a family funeral that day, it was extremely distressing to then find out that it was a vexatious complaint made by a family member against us, and unfortunately our little Keera witnessed the entire 'event'.

Many years ago, when we had 6 kids at home, we had a 'saying'... it went like this:

"This is the house where pigs can fly, and Mr Nobody does everything".

Because when something was lost, or broken etc, all the kids said "It wasn't me".

We now have a new saying:

edited: "This is the house where Police turn up, and nobody has done anything!"

Thanks Steve for coming up with that, you clever bastard.

ABOVE:  And look at that!  Steve whipped up my puzzle board in like half an hour!  OMG it's beautiful.
Thanks so much Steve.  You are the most wonderful son EVER.

ABOVE:  Lunch out at Chartwell Square today.  Nice to get out and about as a nice family group.

And now... we are home and feeling decidedly jaded.  But, think we are gunna play Jenga now.

8.30 pm:  Oh man, Stew just cooked us a really delicious dinner of pork chops, mashed potatoes, peas, onions and gravy.   So YUM.

And now... OMG I am just so, so tired.  My brain is fried.  I won't be long out of bed tonight.
Catch you tomorrow.

  4. Oh dear. What a distressing evening for you all. Hopefully wee Keera was able to understand that it wasn't as bad as it may have looked. And how sad.
    The puzzle board is amazing.

  6. You will be very glad it is that big. Mine is 4’x4’ which works for 1000 piece puzzles. You clearly need bigger for your larger ones. So fabulous.

Is it possible your difficult person has an undiagnosed mental health issue or something else that no one knows? Because I know it has been bad, but that is really getting scary.

  7. Oh No! That is terrible. What a sickening feeling.

Good job on the puzzle board! I was going to suggest that it be BIG! Some are only big enough to hold the puzzle. But what about all those piece you just arranged to be face-up! No problem with this behemoth!

  10. Sorry for you having the police come to your door last night. That is horrible and scary to think that a family member is calling the police to check you out. It's hard to understand why the family member won't leave you alone but for some reason, he/she is angry and spiteful. I love the puzzle board!

  11. Great family pics. Is that Brylee's back? Looks like she cut her hair. I think the person who called the police on you should be ashamed, especially given you had just been at a funeral. They obviously have something wrong with them. Love the puzzle board Steve made. Hope you are having a better day.

That’s very sad that someone could be so heartless and they should be ashamed. You and Stew are amazing parents and grandparents. Does Keera have to go back or is there a way of keeping her close to you and out of harms way mentally. Loved the family picture at lunch. Has Brylee cut her hair?

What happened to you is horrible, but are you really going to call the cops pigs? That is disgusting. They were doing their job. You'd be the first person to scream for them if you were in trouble. Cops hate domestic disputes more than anything in the world. They can die attending domestic disputes. Do you really want to set 'cops are pigs' as an example to Keera?

Maybe Anon has somebody in the Police Force and therefore is sensitive to the word pigs. As you said the officer arrived around 9.00pm and you only mentioned Keera I thought Steve and Bex had taken the boys home. But why don't Anon commentators put their name after the message - saves even more bad feelings. Happy Birthday Bex. Audrey

    3. To be 'fair', when Steve came up with the 'saying, it was the following day, and all three children were in the house. But not in the room. To single out Keera? Hmmmm.

  16. Many, many years ago I used to be a potter. I made pottery pigs (flat so I could write on them) and the saying 'Pigs can fly' is where the saying: "This is the house where pigs can fly, and Mr Nobody does everything" cames from.
Steve used the word 'pigs' because it was part of the 'saying'... not to disparage the police. We have utmost respect for the Police, let me assure you. AND we did not refer to the policeman as a PIG in front of Keera. It was unfortunate that we used the word Pigs to refer to the police, and for that I am sorry. We did not intend to offend anyone, and I have edited my post to reflect that.
