Well... Griffin requested Chocolate Mud Cake for his birthday, so that's what he got:
Looking at Tallulah last night, still thinking she doesn't look that big... I keep thinking back to how big Coco got:
BUT... I have to remember, these photos were taken when Coco was 8 weeks and 3 days along. And dogs only get REALLY BIG in the last 2 weeks... so time will tell with Tallulah! (Coco's 1st litter 6 pups, 2nd litter 7 pups, 3rd litter 6 pups)
Can't wait until the 1st of December, when she has her x-ray!
Today? Steve is going to his Doctor for a medical certificate and pain medication, then they are popping in for a visit.
Yaaa... I love seeing the little boys as often as possible.
I also have some salmon quiche for their dinner.... I made far too much the other night!
Once they leave I am going to sew... hopefully!
ONWARD...
I've been trying to find washing machine reviews on the 'net.
Christ what a time consuming and frustrating job.
I was thinking of getting a Fisher & Paykel 10kg Top Loader, but every review I've read says the same thing, that it's a shit machine.
Kelly (daughter) recently bought a Simpson 10 kg machine, and she says it's shit too.
So. Anyone out there know of a GOOD washing machine... Top Loader, large capacity? Give me some ideas people, cos I'm bamboozled.
2.15 pm: and I have pretty new nails again. They are too long so will be getting the chop later on today.
I went and looked at washing machines. I don't want a front loader because of the bending down ya have to do to get the washing in and out. My back is killing me right now, so just can't go there.
After talking it over with the salesman ... I got a Simpson 8.5 kg Top Loader. NO whistles and bells, just a basic machine that will hopefully give me no trouble. It's in the back of my car right now in fact!
The guys can bring it in when Stew gets home from work tonight.
I've got pottery tonight, but will go later so the machine can be taken out of my car.
I've just had lunch and am now watching Home and Away before I go down to the garage and muck around with fabric.
I fell asleep... on the couch after the kids got home from school! Whoops. Got nothing done after all. I'm now just gunna wait till Stew gets home then go to Pottery class. We are making glazes tonight.
End of Day: class was OK, spent some time numbering tiles for test firing this coming week.. then came home and watched the guys put the new washing machine in the laundry.
I will give it a go tomorrow and see how it goes.
Time to wind down.
nite nite
Those are great photos of Griffin! He looks so grown up. Is he getting a mustache?
ReplyDeleteUpper lip bum fluff! We keep telling him to shave it off.... lol
DeleteLG seem to be pretty good. Go into a retailer and talk to them as well.
ReplyDeleteI was going to comment on the mustache but someone beat me to it lol.
ReplyDeleteI hate buying stuff! I think we have a Kenmore now but I'm not sure. You probably don't even have those there. We've had Kenmore, Whirlpool and Maytag. No difference in how good any of them. I only have had top loaders, people with the front loaders all seem to have expensive problems with them.
Hi
ReplyDeleteLook at choice magazine they have reviews for both top and front loaders...we have a newish front loader it is an LG, no problems so far...although I find some of the cycles too long...this is my first front loader, it doesnt tangle clothes and is far more efficient etc.
Cheers
Peta
Also Happy Birthday to Griffin he looks great !
ReplyDeleteCheers

Look at the Consumer.org.nz website, they usually do comparisons on there. If you need a log in to see more detail text me & I will find our work one for you.
ReplyDeleteWe have an LG top loader and I love it - it's the second one we've had and not had trouble from either of them. The first one lasted forever.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with making a decision.
Bosch front loader Chris, its the bomb!!! 5 years no problems and counting. Any kg size is fine. Good luck
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the bending down. I don't even have a bad back. I am over 6 foot tall I guess, but it just doesn't appeal at all! Sounds like you settled on a good option for you - hope it works out. Happy Birthday to the lovely Griffin for yesterday! Penny xo
ReplyDeleteChris, that is the exact same machine that I have (maybe a different model as I have had mine for a couple of years now - had no trouble with it at all. As you say no bells and whistles but does the job. I had always had Fisher & Paykel before this and I loved them but didn't want to spend too much
ReplyDeleteHi Good you got an new machine, my front loader is on a stand so no bending anyway....which is good!
ReplyDeletePeta
I thought they would be too heavy to put on a stand! Not a bad idea.
DeleteYep we've always had a Simpson - would def recommend... it just seems to go and go (hope I don't jinx it saying that). But we are looking at DISHWASHERS now... not sure what brand for that!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a Westinghouse, it's excellent. Had F & P Dishdrawers before ... utter crap! Nice concept, but ours and my Mum's all died. Cant speak for any others.
ReplyDeleteOooh we looked at a Westinghouse too... I've got a Westinghouse oven. Meh. Thank you for that.
DeleteWow Griffin is growing into a handsome young man :) I'm sure that washing machine will be great.
ReplyDeleteYou should have looked at Samsung as well, got mine for 11 years and still going strong.
ReplyDeleteOur daughter Kelly just bought a Samsung 10kg top loader and has been having no end of trouble with it... so I decided not to go there. I'm glad your's is going well *smiles*
DeleteI have had two Simpson washing machines. The first one I wore out and the second one I used for many years but replaced it with a Bosch front loader which has been a work horse. When I remodel the laundry i think it will be going on top of a drawer to lift it up as well as putting it in a more accessible place
ReplyDeleteGriffin is growing into a handsome young man, cake heaven right there! I love front loaders I do I have had 2, do you lift washing out of top loader and into basket onto floor? front loader is open door and unload into basket I had my second front loader on a stand both LG models my Boss has a Bosch.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of the Birthday Boy. Good luck with the new washer.
ReplyDeleteI've got a Simpson top loader that I've had for 20 years with no problems and my Mum has had her Simpson for 29 years again with no problems! Good choice!
