I FINALLY DID IT... BOOKED A STALL

SO, I'm going to do the POKENO Market in December... probably all three sundays in the run up to Christmas!   It's really cheap too... which is excellent... AND I can hire a gazebo if I want one too... which is a great idea.

If the market is good (as in: profitable) I shall invest in my own gazebo in the future.   Depends on how well my bags and cards go!

I'm quite excited by the prospect of getting out there and selling me stuff privately... no shop 'mark up'.... all good.   I used to sell my pottery in markets too (years ago!) and loved the atmosphere... the buzz of selling!   It's neat.   I hope I do well.

Today:  Hospice shop.  MUST. STOP. SPENDING. MONEY. THERE.

COCO has learnt to jump on chairs.  This is NOT good.  Last night that little bugger jumped on a chair then onto my computer table... and ATE (edit: she chewed it up, but did not actually swallow it) one of my most FAVOURITE earrings... you know... the pretty blue ones that I wear ALL. THE. TIME.  and match my lovely blue necklace.  I am so sad.   I wonder if Amanda (daughter) can get me any more???   Must ring and ask.

ONWARD...
Another busy morning done and dusted in the Hospice shop today.... and... I spent NOTHING!!!

ABOVE:  a SINGLE earring... found on the floor of the shop last week... put aside.. no one claimed it.. so it's mine.  I'm going to adapt it into a necklace and give it to my SIL.. it's a good match with the watch I'm giving her for Christmas!  SCORE.

Went to Spotlight and got a few fabrics to use as linings for my bags.... always forget the lining fabric.  *sigh*... so now I think I'm set to churn out a few more bags.

End of Day:  so tired and it's only 10.30... off to bed early for a change. nite nite.

  5. I used to visit the Pokeno markets when I lived in Auckland along with the infamous Otara markets I also used to get up at 3am to go to the FLOWER markets at 4am!!!! loved it, Coco at least she has good taste, I with the other poster just disinfect sterilise and voila matching earring, I hope it doesn't affect her insides though. Keep a spray bottle of water handy WHEN you see her jumping spray her and keep all chairs PUSHED IN... (sheesh worse than children eh!)

  10. That's great news about the stall, Chris. I'm sure you're going to do great...your bags and cards are fabulous!

As for your earring....I had a dog once that ate one of my good gold earrings and I did exactly what Kate said...waited for it to "reappear", washed all of the poop away with the hose and then soaked the earring in alcohol for a few days. Sounds gross, but they were really expensive earrings! Good luck, my friend!

    XOXO,

  11. Perhaps Coco will return what he has taken...although not in the manner you could appreciate. Patience is a virtue!!!

  12. You will have orders coming out your ears once your stall gets up and running as you won't be able to keep up with demand - I BET!

I also bet you DO spend money at the hospice shop today.....hahaha

  14. Good for you! The space for the stall looks HUGE. Over here I usually get 3ft by 3ft. I hope you do well. Your cards will draw attention for sure. May I suggest you have some low priced item eg. wee gift cards? This is so that anyone who LOVES what you do and so wants to support you but don't want to spend too much can at least walk away with something you made. (that's my strategy)

If you really think Coco ate your ear ring, I'd call the vet. That could lead to trouble...debbie

That earring-soon-to-be-necklace, definitely is the perfect match for the green watch! I'd be worried about Coco too. If she has definitely swallowed it and it's a hook earring, I shudder to think what might happen! WOMBAT
