8 KILOS UP, 10 KILOS DOWN!

Before I went to Melbourne I weighed XX kilos, in Melbourne I gained 2 kilos..... on my return I went to hospital and gained another 6 kilos in fluid.... then I lost those 6 kilos and now...
I have lost the 2 kilos I gained in Melbourne plus 1.5 kilos more! I am wrapt!

And ... the bonus??? I got a darn good detox from not eating any crap or diet coke for almost 2 weeks! I still can't drink Diet Coke much at all, just a sip here and there.... am going to try having some today with lots of ice added, so it's diluted and doesn't hurt my tummy so much!

I feel so sad I can't drink my diet coke....almost like a traitor to my favourite drink! LOL

Today:
No plans whatsoever... am going to try and do a wee bit more today.... perhaps take a tiny walk up the driveway and down the street a bit .... and back! That should be a good start! onward....

CONFUSION ABOUNDS IT APPEARS: MY fanny is me VAGINA people!!!! My VAGINA was given a major repair job and 'tidy up'..... not me bum, or any other part of me body!!!! OK??? Now that is cleared up.....

Steve is moving home (again) today, he is going to be here to help me out for a while and until he can find a better flat to move into. He hasn't been getting on with the owner of where he is right now.

We have a plumber coming this morning too, our ensuite taps just won't stop dripping, so Stew bought some new taps but doesn't feel confident enough to connect them. So, bring on the plumber!

Mummy is NOT happy, while her back was turned I did a HUGE pee on her bed!!!! YIKES TIME TO SCAMPER....don't worry, I still loves you Teddy!

Steve is home.

The plumber is here.

I'm getting bored.

What can I do when moving hurts and I get exhausted so quick???

OOOOO would ya look at that! Above, the old dripping taps, and Below: The pretty new taps.... and NO DRIPS! BLISS.

End of Day: it's been another good day, did nothing!!! Really, I did nothing all day, just sat on me bum and blogged, watched tellly, wandered around the house a few times.... was nice.

NSV: eating really well... lots of mussels, no diet coke! YET...

nite nite.

I HAD A SNEAK PEEK....

..... at me fanny last night, and I must say....I'M THRILLED to bits with it!!!! I am more than impressed with what the surgeon did (from what I can see).....WOOO HOOOO!

Stew is off to work this morning, the company he works for is rolling out some major structural changes and he has to be there to hear about them. It COULD mean some changes for us too... but certainly not bad ones.
Teddy is a box of birds this morning, so he's fine.... what a relief.

KAREN: just so ya know, I am certainly not on a diet right now! I am eating as healthily as I can, I know that good nutrition is essential to a speedy recovery. I am looking forward to eating lots of mussles as opposed to steak (I am so over red meat).... I am on iron supplements (have been for about 9 months) and will have to continue to take them for a few more months yet to get my iron levels up. At the moment my iron levels are seriously depleted, but that's 'normal' for me.
I am on a trial drug (Rivaroxaban), which is in clinical trials right now, which means I did not have to go on heparin injections and warfrin... so I am very lucky.

Right ... that's it for now, better get this published....

Last year (august) I had pre-cancerous condition of cervix, so had a wee operation to have areas of me cervix chopped off... it took a full 12 days later before I hemmoraghed... so.......I am kinda waiting with trepidation to see if that happens again! You know, things happen in 3's.... I've had two so far with this operation.....

Stew's home from work.. no major changes in his job... it just gets bigger! We are still moving to Auckland..... eventally! good things happen to those who wait... I am almost DONE waiting ya hear! onward... need to move me legs a bit, been sitting for two hours reading blogs.....

We FINALLY popped out and got the exercise pen for Teddy, it's attatched to his crate so now he has lots of room to move around while he's confined overnight.

Stew also got me lots of mussels, they are marinating right now with red onions.... yummy and so good for their iron content. Whatever works for you eh? lol

LUNCH IS SERVED:

YUM YUM....

End of Day: a good one it has been! Weight Watchers went well, lost 1.5 kilos since my last visit. Happy with that.

NSV: I am finally managing to eat 'normally' again, even if the portions are still a bit too small..... at least it's food and it's staying down! nite nite.

BYE BYE 'BOY BITS'......

Teddy is off to the Vets this morning.... he's being nutered! No humping dog thingee happening around here that's for sure! BOYS... ik. Still, he's totally beautiful.

I'm pleased to report I had quite a good night, slept for several good hours at a stretch... not too much tossing and turning.... and the pain in much more managable. Weird how you wake up in the morning and feel almost totally 'normal' till ya get up and realise that your legs are like jelly! It's really funny.

TODAY:
Well....gunna go to the pet shop to find that exercise pen... and that will be it I reckon. I think I did overdo it yesterday just a pinch....

FOOD..... looking forward to lunch! So neat to be hungry again....

- anyone know why my arms feel so totally dead/heavy/tired/weak???? I am getting really mad about them!
I can't seem to do anything with them. GRRRRRRR.

Stew's suit is finally ready to be picked up from Otaki, so we are probably going for a drive today to pick it up. I am sure just sitting in the car will be fine for me! Maybe a nice lunch in Otaki, there is this devine eatery called "TRAFFIC" just off the main road... ooooo can't wait!

Lovely little trip we've had.... picked up Stew's new suit:

What a HUNK....

We only went in ONE shop (the Menswear Shop), but I managed to spy this lovely top on sale.... I just had to have it!!! The menswear shop also has a women's section OK? I just can't help myself...*ducking head for cover*... lol

And would you look at this! I sent an email yesterday and I already have a response to my complaint about Ward 27! I am gobsmacked ....

End of Day: it's been a good one! Not too much pain, an outing, shopping, puppy fixed... nice relaxing afternoon/evening.

NSV: the scales are going down.... Ok I know that's actually a 'scale victory' but sometimes they count! I am thinking of going to weight watchers tomorrow night too! Stew will take me so I should be fine.

nite nite.

NEW WEEK... NEW ME

I am going to town today a new woman... well CERTAIN parts are kinda new eh? ha ha ha.

I am going to pace myself... I want to:

- get a Thank You card and gift baskets of yummies for the nurses at Southern Cross hospital. I need to get enough to cover the 3 shifts.....they were fantastic to me the whole time I was there, and even rang up to the Public Hospital to make sure I was OK in there after the Ward 27 debacle!

- Get Thank You cards for the surgeon who did my operation and his off-sider who looked after me as well. Both of them treated me so very well I want to let them know how much I appreciated their care. I will probably find a 'wee something' to give them as well... not sure what yet.

- Then I want to get Teddy an exercise pen to attatch to his crate so he's got more room when we want him confined.

THAT should just about do me in I reckon! But don't worry, I will be with Stew and he won't let me overdo it. If I can't get it all done today, well there is always tomorrow! later...

Above: my daily breakfast now... masses of pills, friggin water (yik yik yik) and some food. I don't usually eat breakfast but now I HAVE to in order to have the blood thinner pill. BUGGER.

Well we went out, got all we needed to make up 3 gift baskets for the nurses, got 2 men's Toiletries Gift sets for the doctors, dropped them all off at the hospital and came home. I faded rather fast I must say. Am now just chillin out in the lounge.... might even have a nap.

No nap ahappening afterall, got 2 visitors back to back... but that was nice too. Maybe I will be able to sleep tonight after not having any all day? I hope so.

End of Day: baby steps today, found I have definite limits still.... but that's ok.

NSV: I'm enjoying food again.... I think it's better to be eating than not..... for sure! Looking forward to another good day tomorrow. nite nite.

GUNNA MAKE THIS QUICK....

STOOPID BLOGGER WON'T LET ME REPOSITION THESE PHOTOS! SO.... top photo: the mantlepiece in the lounge- I fluffed around and quite liked how it looked today.
2nd photo: Amanda, these are the flowers you sent, seeing as you asked.
3rd photo: This is the flower arrangement my Mum sent me yesterday, amazingly beautiful.
****************************************************************

We have an Open Home today at 12.30pm so we have to get a move on!
I am going to just potter around and try to do a tiny bit of 'fluffing' around, put flowers in different rooms (I got about 9 bunches !)...

OH yeah.... I get to put clothes on today! How thrilling is that? Can't wear me fav jeans though, bugger. Me tummy is still very swollen and sore.... but clothes... *drooling*..... shit I crack myself up sometimes! LOL

later.....

Well another Open Home done and dusted.... 2 groups through... one looks kinda hopeful?
I am shattered, and I did bugger all this morning, but I was up all morning till now (1.30pm) and I'm now feeling rather ill so am going to have a sleep.
I can't wait to feel 'normal' again, being like this sucks big time.
later....
I had a little sleep, and have woken feeling kinda "grey"... hard to explain really, but I'm sure each day will get better.
Stew is in heaven, he's watching rugby on the telly: Australia A Vs. New Zealand Maori...... and I don't give a shit. As long as he's happy.
End of Day: a mixed bag, started off feeling really good, then yukky, and now... back to good! Had a really wonderful play with Teddy tonight, he is such a funny wee dog! And NUTS.... lol. Steve came around and helped me learn how to download music to my ipod... I can DO IT!!!
NSV: I'm doing well, food finally staying down (reluctantly sometimes) but managing to get back into the swing of healthy eating. I have even managed to down about a glass of Diet coke today! WOOO HOOOO.
nite nite.

SO MUCH TO SAY....

Firstly, we are having the most AMAZING hail storm right now (9.30 am) !!!!
The difference from one minute (above) to the next (below)!!!

AWESOME !.... I love storms.

Before that.... I had a good night, woke a few times but it was so neat to be in my own bed again.... all comfy and warm.
Stew had fed and watered me, tendered to my every need... what a man.
I'm sitting up in me bed like a tart, laptop at hand, pills, books, ipod, camera, phone, drinks ... you get the drift? Heeee heee. Might just make the most of this.

I have no plans for the day except at some point having a shower and washing me hair.... can't keep looking so dreadful eh? Might even put some makeup on!!! Shock horror, that will frighten the face....lol.

Gawd it's so nice to be home again.

Sadly I have to report that I STILL have NO desire to drink my DIET COKE... I'm sure my body is in withdrawal.... must try to rectify this soon.... so NOT good for me!
For the second time in 6 years it has snowed on the hills surrounding Palmerton North!!! These hills can be easily seen from our home:
And here's me and our little Teddy, I am feeling much better after getting me 'face on' (makeup!) lol.
I'm knackered now so am going to have a sleep.....
I have been reading blogs for the past 4 hours, that is it~ I'm done! If I missed you... sorry.... just can't do any more. I've had a relaxed day in all.... still very sore and sorry for myself, but every day will get better I'm sure.
End of Day: it's been long, quiet and still thrilled to be home.
NSV: my appetite is coming back thank goodness, you don't actually lose weight when you are sick ... just water and muscle mass. bummer.
nite nite.

ALRIGHTY THEN... LOOK OUT YA POOR BUGGERS!

I'M BACK!...

I'm so happy to be home, safe and sound at last! A million "THANK YOU'S" to each and every one of you who text'd, phoned, commented, visited, sent flowers, baked cookies, gave gifts or in any way sent me and Stew your best wishes over this week from hell.

I am very very grateful to be alive, it would seem I tried a good couple of times to leave ya all....but it wasn't my time obviously.
A RECAP:
Friday - southern Cross Hospital, operation via vagina to remove uterus, anterior and posterior repair of fanny (thank you big babies)! I GET A NEW FANNY!!!! YEEEEE HAAAA.
Friday night after first operation: hemmorage, ambulance to Public Hospital for emergency operation through incision in tummy ... 2 hours later bleeding stopped. Transfer to Intensive Care Unit .
Saturday: Spent in Intensive Care Unit, then transfer to Ward 27...
Sunday and Monday: dismal care in Ward 27... transfer back to Southern Cross Hospital via my girlfriend Chris's car cos the nurses WOULD NOT GET AN AMBULANCE!. Told by many many Health Professionals to lodge an Official Complaint about the nursing (OR rather lack of) care in Ward 27. Will do this once I settle down.
Tuesday & Wednesday: Southern Cross Hospital.... excellent care!
Thursday: anticipated return home NO... got a pulmonary embolism (blood clot on right lung-very painful) .... ambulance trip BACK to Public Hospital ... CT Scan to confirm blood clot.... fuck that dye injection hurts!...day spent in Emergency Department, then transfer to Ward 26.... TOTALLY fantastic Ward, nurses so very lovely and caring. NO concerns staying there at all.
Friday: Put on new drug to stop blood clots forming, in new World Wide Study of this new drug, under the care of Heamatologists at Public Hospital... feel rather SPECIAL. LOL Then.....HOME at last!
Have to see Surgeon in 4 weeks to make sure new fanny is all good... and to get a referral to the Heamatologist to find out WHY I bleed so much.....
At the moment I am on blood thinners so I don't clot... yet I bleed and they have to find a way to make me CLOT ????? Derrrrr.
RIGHT, here's a couple of photos to keep ya going:

ABOVE: ME in intensvie care. Not my best shots.
My new belly scar..... bastards have ruined any chance of a bikini now! Yet, I don't mind, I am ALIVE!!!
Me and Brylee in Ward 26 on Thursday night.
I feel like the luckiest woman alive (by the way) to have such a FANTASTIC AND loving husband in Stew.... he is my EVERYTHING. Thank you Darling for taking such good care of me, the children, the dog, the house and even my BLOODY BLOG! AND... just for you Darling... I HAVE A WONDERFUL NEW FANNY..... can't wait to show ya! Even I havn't looked yet though.... too sore....
THAT WILL BE A WHOLE NEW POST!!!! BUT NO PHOTOS!!!
That is me for this day:
End of Day: It's been an eventful week.
NSV: I gained 6 kilos of fluid in the first 4 days, have now lost it all....WAITING to see if the lack of food over the week makes me have a 'real' loss soon. NITE NITE.

Friday's always a good day isn't it!!??

Well lets hope Friday is bloody good day and Chris is finally heading away from the twists and turns of these last few days.

So today usual morning stuff done and kids to school. I get them to school to find that it is shared lunch day for the end of term and you have to bring a plate, silly daddy should have know Ah! So off to the shop I go, I got to 2 chocolate cakes and I have decorated the top with 100's & 1000's in the shape of there classroom numbers, rooms 3 and 5. Now I am off to deliver them to there rooms then up to hospital to see how the night went with Chris.

Thanks for all your comments and well wishes over night, I will pass them on to Chris and update you some time during the day when I can.

OK it's now 1.45 pm and I am home with my wife. She is so pleased to be home and is feeling a lot better. Wants her jewels so she can feel normalish again. It's been great being able to keep the blogg up dated for Chris, although sharing the not so good news was not fun and hopefully it's all up hill from now on. Next blogg post will be from Chris after she has checked over my posts, your comments and maybe had a sleep. Chao for now, Stew [Mrs C].

What's that saying about "counting your chickens"

Well you all must be gagging for an update and if you hadn't guessed yet, by how late it is that I am blogging today, things have taken yet another turn.

This morning as I was taking the kids to school after the usual morning rituals, I got a call from Chris. She had been in pain in the early hours of this morning and they needed to send her back up to Palmy North hospital to check out what is happening.

So I get up to SouthernX, get the rundown and Chris is then taken up to Palmy Hospital about 9 am for a CT scan [just likes those ambulance rides I think]. This was done straight away and it showed that Chris had Pulmonary Embolism [a blood clot] on her right lung. This needs to be treated up at the hospital with blood thinning medication. That was OK but anywhere except ward 27 [even the ambulance officers had heard about ward 27].

So the options for the medication for the clot are the old tried Warfarin [commonly know as Rat Poison] or a new drug that is in a world wide trail at present. The Warfarin has a number of injections and pills over 4-6 days to get the dose right and then pills for 6 months, whereas the new medication is just pills for 6 months. So Chris ended up on the new stuff, which she is really pleased about as she hates needles and has had so many put into her in the last week that she's feeling like a pin cushion.

She was transferred up to ward 26 at about 3.30 pm and I went home to check on the kids, dog etc at 4, then back up with Brylee at 6 after I had feed the tribe. When I got back she was sitting up eating her diner and feeling not to bad, all things considered. She has found ward 26 a huge improvement on ward 27 and feels a lot safer in ward 26. Her surgeon called in this arvo as well and said the 2 things that can go wrong after surgery like hers which can potentially kill you are bleeding and clotting and she dodged both bullets. Shit it's bloody scary, lets hope we are over it now and there are no more twists to this tale.

Well I'm feeling a bit drained and rather shagged, so it's now 7.30 and I think I'll put the kids to bed, sort out the dishes, give a quick tidy up round the house, give the dog a run around and try to head to bed early tonight.

Not sure yet but Chris may be home late tomorrow, but I will up date some time tomorrow and let you know what's happening. I'll try not to keep you waiting to long tomorrow. Thanks for all your kind wishes. Nite Nite from Stew [Mr C].

Hump day and Things are looking good

Sorry bit late with the post this morning, you'll all be waiting for Chris to get back so you can get some timely posts, some colour and some pictures.

Usual start to the day, cuddle in bed with the kids, deal with all the morning kid things, dog, tidy up etc. Kids at school now and when I am done with this post I am off to see Chris. She just txt me and said she had a good nights sleep & is feeling good. The Specialist Doctor has been into visit this morning and he is very happy with things. They want to keep her in at least 1 more night to make absolutely sure that she is ok before they let her go home. So I'll give you a further updated later in the day when I'm back from visiting Chris.

Ok another apology, this time for no middle of the day post. It was me being busy or Steve was on the computer, so it had to wait until now. It's 5.15 pm and we are just home from visiting Chris.

So went up this morning and she was up in the lazyboy chair looking really good. I took up some magazines and her watch & earrings so she could feel a bit more like normal again. Some of the fluid that had built up all over her is starting to come off slowly and she is able to get around a bit more as well. She has had a few walks up the hall and been up & down to the loo a lot today. Anne & Jenny visited this morning and Janine at lunchtime.

I went home at about 1.30 to tend to the dog and popped back up with Steve and the kids at 3.30. She was feeling a bit tired & sore by then and was back in bed. We stayed for an hour and left her talking to Sandra, you know all that girlie type stuff. The Doc is due back in the morning to see her again and assess if she could go home tomorrow. I think she needs a little more time to recover properly and I know if she is not feeling right she will be telling him so.

Well it is great that she is on the mend and improving daily. Thanks for all comments of support and I'll update again tomorrow with more news.

Nite Nite from Stew [Mr C].

Suns up, lets hope it's shining on Chris

Morning all. Usual start of day, kids up, feed, dressed etc etc, dog dealt with, kids to school. Quick blogg update, then it's shower for me and off to see Chris for the day. She has already txt me and asked me to bring up the camera, so she must be feeling better.

We have some people coming to look through the house at 3.15 so will come back at about 2 to do a tidy up for that and will give you an update on the patient then.

It's now 1.45 pm and I have been up with Chris. She is a lot better today as she got a good sleep. So got her up and gave her a shower, went for a little walk down the hallway, had a milo and piece of scone, so all in all things are looking up. She is getting some of her bossiness back, cause yesterday when son Steve arrived to see her he had an ipod and she said I want one and when I arrived this morning her first words were "where's my ipod".

So I have just been out and bought said ipod, in pink of course, and will deliver that this afternoon when I go back with the kids at 4. When I finish this post Steve is going to download some songs onto it for her, charge it up etc so she can use it so that will make her happy. She also has TV in her room so she won't miss Coro street tonight, so all's good.

Well have to go for now as I have work to do before the house viewers arrive at 3.15. I'll update later this evening. Bye for now.

Ok its now 6.30 and I'm back from the hospital, Griffins had his haircut and the ipod was very well recieved - the boys have more jobs to load on more songs.

Chris was feeling a lot better this arvo, although still very sore. She had been up for 2 more walks since lunchtime and had eaten a couple of sandwiches that didn't come back up, so that's all good. She even cracked a few smiles and had to hold back laughter when Sandra was telling her a funny story cause it hurts to much to laugh right now. So it is great that she is on the improve but I think she will be in hospital for a few days more which is good as she needs to stay as long as possible to get as much rest & recovery as possible. It has been all rather scary so it will take a while for her to get back anywhere near normal, so making the most of rest now is very important.

Thanks all for your comments and best wishes, Chris has enjoyed getting them. Oh, Coffee Bean, a Milo is a type of hot chocolate drink.

Well that's it for today everyone. I will update again tomorrow. Nite Nite.

Start of a new week & hopefully better things

So a new week and lets hope it's all up hill and going well for Chris this week.

Kids up, dressed, feed, lunches made & off to school etc. Dog up played with, pooped, peed & back to bed. Quick tidy up around the house, do this blog and now I'm off to spend some time with my wife till it's time to pick up the kids from school. Oh also need to ring my boss to see if I can have some more time off to be with my wife, there goes all my holiday time, but it's all in a very good cause. I'll update you all later in the day. Have a good one all, Stew [Mr C].

It's now 5.30 and I'm home from the hospital and what a day.

I got up to Chris at about 9am and she was in tears again. She had been awake most of the night and felt sore and really sick. She had buzzed for a nurse but no one came. She started to vommit & kept vommitting still no one came. She kept trying to buzz while people just stood around and did nothing. At one stage after Chris buzzer had been on for over a hour a nurse came in and turned it off but did nothing to help Chris. So all this before I got there was just a bit much for her and she didn't feel cared for or safe.

So I contacted Southern Cross to get her sent back there. They confirmed this at 10 am and contacted the Palmy Hospital to get it actioned. So when I left at 4.45 this arvo we were still waiting for a registra to sign the papers so she could go. The nurse said that one was on the way so hopefully she is being transferred as I am typing this note.

While she was feeling pretty low this morning things started to get a bit better for her as the day went on. She now has no tubes, wires, drips or drains in. She has taken on some fluids, has eaten a couple of crackers, has been sitting up and has taken herself off to the toilet twice and given appropriate samples to the nurse.

So things are looking up and I believe once she gets back to Southern Cross she will feel safer and will really improve quickly. I have just had a phone call from our friend Chris at 6 pm to say that she has Chris in the car and is taking her to Southern Cross right now [the palmy hospital were supposed to get an ambulance for but didn't].

I will now feed the kids then take them to see mummy and update the blogg when I ger back.

Well we have been up to visit mummy in her new room at Southern Cross [room 2]. She is lot happier now and looking foward to having a good nights sleep. I think that things are on the up so will hopefully have some good stuff to report tomorrow.

Kids are having some icecream before bed, then it's off to bed for them, I have some chores to do, then maybe a little time for TV and then off to get some sleep myself. Thanks for all your kind wishes and thoughts. Nite Nite Stew [Mr C].

Sunday and it's no rest day

Morning all.
Sorry I am not the early blogger like my wife is and also that there is no photo's, I'm not that up with this blogging thing to do photo's, but I know when Chris is back on the blogging deck you will get some. I took some blogg fodder photo's yesterday up at the hospital with all the tubes, wires and sexy hospital gown which I am sure will find there way onto an update coming to you in the future.

So today is open home day so it is tidy up, vacum, wash, polish, clean etc today. Then after open home I will go up and visit Chris with the kids.

I have phoned Chris at the hospital this morning and she didn't sleep well over night. Still managing the pain with the self administer system and really just feeling very very tired. They hope to get her up later on this morning to get her moving a bit. Her only request was a sipper bottle of you guessed it "DIET COKE".

Talking of not sleeping well, my mobile phone rang at 3.07 am and of course I thought the worst problems at the Hospital and the heart missed a beat or 2, but it was daughter number 2 ringing from some party. "Hi dad it's me, what ya doing" "I'm sleeping what do you think I'm doing" "Oh sorry I didn't realise' hey I'm coming down today" "Whatever, goodnight" and I hung up. With her record she may or may not turn up just wait and see. Bloody kids ah!!

Well that's it for now, I will update you all later in the day after my visit. Thanks for all you wishes, I have made a list of names and comments to take up to Chris today. Stew.

It's now 5 pm and I have just been up to see Chris with Mike & the kids. When we got there she was sitting in a chair by her bed in tears. I sent the kids off with Mike for a bit. She had been put in the chair by the nurses and left there unattended. While she hadn't been there long she was in pain and feeling very sick and know one was coming to help her and there was no one in sight. I managed to track down a nurse and we put her back in bed.

After about 20 mins she was feeling a lot better so the kids and Mike spent some time talking to her. While we were sitting there her drip ran out and the machine was beeping to let the nurses know it was empty. It took 15 mins before a nurse came to check the machine and change it.

Chris is still very sore & tired, and finds it very lonely. She has asked me to come up tomorrow as soon as I have dropped the kids off at school to keep her company and I also think she is a little worried that if something went wrong no one would be there to come to her aid until it was to late. So that is my mission tomorrow. She must be feeling bad as she didn't want any of the Diet Coke I took up to her. I thought it was a bit soon for Diet Coke.

Her surgeon saw her this morning and said he was very pleased with the first surgery and managed to fix all the original problems plus a couple of other things he found while he was there. So that is good, it will just take some time to recover from the whole experience.

Well thats all for today. I will pass on all your wishes and up date again tomorrow. Stew or should it be "Mr C". Nite nite all.

Saturday, June 28, 2008

It's Saturday, lets hope it's a good one.

Kids in bed for a cuddle at 7 am. Then up, tidy up, bacon & eggs for there breakfast, washing on, dishwasher done, dog played with sorted etc, etc etc. I have just spoken with the ICU nurse and Chris had a good night and appears a lot better this morning. Doctor due to do his rounds shortly and then will know a bit more. At this stage they are hopeful that she will be well enough to go up to a ward later on today, so I will keep you all posted when I can during the day.

Well it's now 7.30 pm and what a day. I have been up with Chris this morning, then took kids & Steve, Mike & Abby to lunch, then back up to Chris. Steve & Mike took turns at looking after the kids for me so that was a really great help and much appreciated guys, thanks.
So Chris is on the road to recovery, which will no doubt take a bit longer than we originally thought. She is still very sore and tired. Late this arvo most of the wires/tubes etc were taken off her and she was moved up to a ward. The bleeding seems to have been stopped and she is able to manage most of the pain with a self medicating system. She is taking sips of water now and has managed to hold most of it down. Hopefully a good nights sleep will give her a lift so that she is feeling a bit better tomorrow and it will help her recovery.
She is in Palmerston North hospital ward 27 room 9.
Well that's it for now folks. Thank you for all your wishes, I am sure Chris will enjoy reading them when she gets home and I will pass them on tomorrow when I see her. I will update tomorrow.

Nite Nite from Stew.

FRIDAY, BYE BYE GIRLY BITS

Dinner last night was lovely... I wore one of my new outfits from Aussy... I loved it, hated me boobs. I am bloody sure I have gained 10 kilos on me boobs.... friggin things! I hope they are the first things to go once I start losing weight again! We went to the LoneStar Restaurant, they give the most amazingly huge meals!

Me and Stew
Mike and Abbey
Steve and Michal (new girlfriend)
Brylee... looking angelic.
Griffin.. the Restaurant Manager gave him the ball... !
My dinner.. Pork ... I only ate the meat, it was delicious!
VERY, VERY NERVOUS this morning, but I am sure all will go well.
Off to have blood tests shortly while Stew takes the kids to school, then we are expecting Steve to come over to care for the kids after school while Stew's with me at the hospital. The operation should be done late this afternoon I think....
I also plan on looking at Plasma TV's this morning ... my niece in Australia had one and it was so bright/colourful and clear! I want one! Doing that should kill the morning, I have to check into the hospital at 11am.
So with that.... I shall say "Bye for now".....
Blood test done, waiting to hear from Steve, then off to town. I (Stew) will update you all later in the day as to how things went with my darling wife's operation. Bye for now.
Well its 1.40am saturday morning and I am just home from the hospital. Maybe that's why you people like reading my wifes blog as there is always some drama going on and today was no different. We checked in at 11 am and the day dragged on with bits of prep here and there during the day. At 6 pm they were finally ready to take into theatre, so I went home for an hour to feed the kids etc and was back at hospital at 7 pm. At 8pm I was told she was just out and in recovery. At 9pm I was told that she was having a bit of trouble with the pain so they were trying to get that under control. At 10.30 the surgeon and a nurse arrived [I was really worried by now] to tell me that Chris had developed some bleeding problems and she was being transferred by ambulance to the public hospital where a team was waiting to try and sort out the bleeding. At 11pm she went into surgery again and it took 2 hours to get things sorted. They had to make a cut down the middle of her tummy to get in fix the bleeds. She lost over 50% of her blood and they had to put 6 bags of blood into her. The surgeon gave me the run down and suggested i come home for some sleep as she will be out of it for a while and will be in ICU until about lunchtime Saturday.
So I will be going back to see her first thing in the morning and will update the blog when I can during the day.
Thank you all for you kind wishes which I will pass on to Chris and I am sure she will read once she can get back on to the computer.
Off to bed now as I am shattered, been a stressful day. It's hard work fighting back all those emotions.

It's a horrible windy day here too, and bloody cold.. but AHHHHH me winter coat is devine! Can't feel a thing through it. I'm in heaven....

I must still be rather tired.. had a two hour nana nap this afternoon... and now we are getting ready to go out for dinner (me last supper?) lol.....feeling a bit freaked out about tomorrow now.... keep having to go to the loo! Nervous bowel... typical. I am the opposite usually. Go figure.

I pinched this cute wee picture off another bloggers blog... cos it really is true! I am hoping that Stew or Steve will update my blog while I'm outta action.... so check back sometimes and see if they have!

End of Day: a mixed bag sorta day.... overshadowed by my nervousness mostly. Heading out to dinner shortly, then early to bed.

NSV: I am loving all the lovely new clothes from Aussy, even though most of them are in a LARGE .... give me a few months and I'm hoping to get back into MEDIUMS. nite nite.

The Police Academy in Melbourne, such an inpressive building.

Friday night at the Formal Graduation dinner, I dragged Nannette down to join us once she arrived from Tazmania.... I don't know if I was drunk here or not! (probably)

Heeee heee ... the Flat Stanley's jumped on this Police Car right outside the station... JUST BEFORE the Seargent came back ..... he would not have been amused I reckon.... I said "Hi" to him and he just grunted at me!
UMMMM... the shopping 'haul'... lots of clothes, bags, jewellery, teddy bears, books.... a new watch and....

This totally awesome, warm long coat ... perfect for winter.... excuse me face/hair.... I was exhausted from all the travel....
Last but not least, my two little kids in their Victoria Police shirts.

So, there ya go.... hope you lasted to here.....
Today: !!!!
- kids to school
- unpack properly
- relax.
Stew's suggestion: lie in bed and have SEX all day... yeah right, in your dreams man! later....
WOW... I slept in till 10.45 am! Must have been tired eh.... been out and about with my darling hubby since getting outta bed, had lunch and bought a new set of taps for our ensuite... they drip non stop and Stew can't fix them .... so new ones needed.
Also have to replace quite a few broken power points, so Stew is going around counting them up... this house was built by an electrician and there's over 80 power points ! Not all of them are broken, just a few! (Luckily). ONWARD....
I have been reading blogs all afternoon... if you updated before the 24th, I ain't reading it! I can only go back so far before I start seeing double! So, I loves ya, even if I didn't read and comment lately OK? ....
End of day: a wonderful restful day... got everything unpacked and put away. Had to reorganise my wardrobe to fit all the booty in!
NSV: not worth mentioning today.... nite nite.
