It's a special day today.
Two birthdays to celebrate.
Firstly:
ABOVE: If he was still with us, my Dad would be 91 today. He died in August of 2000. 25 years FLIES BY SO FAST!!!Next: Coco is 15 today. And she is doing really well.
ABOVE: Coco as a ten week old puppy. This photo was taken on her first day living with us.
ABOVE: And here she is today. How wonderful does she look for an 'elderly' dog! She is due for a groom, which is happening on Tuesday.
I have a list of things to get done today.
Mostly getting things off fences, the pig weather vane off the carport, etc. Most of those things are going over to Steve 'n' Bex's until we move.
I'm also putting the pool cover on, as we are no longer swimming in it. It's been quite a cool summer, and we didn't get much use out of it sadly.
Where we are moving to, there is a heated pool, so we can swim all year round, which will be excellent.
Alright, I'm off to make a start on the day.
9.50 am. Stew has been out and done the weekend shop.
Meanwhile, back here I did this:
ABOVE: I packed up a lot more sewing room stuff. Re-organised my sewing desk drawers so I actually won't NEED to use the 'workshop' cabinet to the right of the sewing desk once we move.
Stew will get it to have in the outside shed I think.
Downsizing how much room I will need to take up in the garage (in my head). *sigh* It's all a guessing game for now. Can't do much else until we get all our stuff over there really.
And that is still... how many days? May 24th should be move in day. Someone work it out for me, I'm too tired.
We are about to go out, I have to replace a couple of knobs on a cupboard in me sewing room, one of the knobs keeps coming off.
And we are going to get some stuff to try and buff off the scratch on my car as well.
ABOVE: I bought this thing. To keep my messy fly aways under control. Opinions?
ABOVE: Finally found a shop that has lots of WASGIJ puzzles in town! Neat, now I have some to work on over the next 2.5 months. When I'm not doing 'moving' stuff.

ABOVE: We spent four hours out and about today... just shopping, having lunch and browsing. Got the knobs and car scratch stuff, so that will happen this afternoon.
For now, we shall get the pool cover on, and then Stew can work on the other things on the list.
I'm going to HAVE A BLOODY NAP! (hopefully).
I woke at 5.30 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so I'm a bit tired.
ABOVE: Goodbye pool. We won't see you next summer. You were a lovely pool, and we got lots of use out of you, just not this summer.
I will not miss having to maintain the pool I must say.
Where we are going, someone else does pool maintenance. Yaaaa.
5 pm: Stew just came in from doing the lawns/gardening. He's not going to miss having to do them either! One huge advantage of this 'Village Life' is no outside maintenance. NONE.
Oh yeah, the nap? Didn't happen. I just can't get my brain to switch off. It's going ninety miles an hour, working out what needs to be done next. Where things will go? What to keep, etc etc etc.
Well.... not much else has been happening today. Stew got lots done outside. I could have done more to help but meh, was tired.
Catch ya tomorrow.
Ironically my dad would have been 92 on the 19th if he was still here and mum will be 90 in November

The head band looks good 😊

I like the head band very much. Sp
ReplyDeleteA suggestion... why don't you make the spare bedroom your sewing/hobby room. It has good light and probably a better view than a garage. If you need a spare bedroom then you could set something up in the garage - heck you could do lots with the garage space (wardrobe etc or even put a car in there). Alternatively buy a really good bed settee for the lounge for guests. I hate to think of you sewing in a garage when you are used to seeing who is coming and going etc.
ReplyDeleteI will have more room in the garage, that is why I am happy to be in there. And I can see out the back door as it's glass. I am considering a bed settee for the lounge though, as an added place for guests to sleep. We will just wait and see how it goes once we are moved in.
DeleteI think someone brought up parking rules a while ago. I can’t remember what you said.
DeleteAre your vehicles expected to be in the garage? Or can you leave them out on the driveway?
In my neighborhood cannot park on the street. And cars are expected to be in garage.

Love your headband. What is it made of? Ì remember packing a 3 bedroom house with 3 kids overnight years ago. Husband/dickhead got a job elsewhere so we had to move. Moved 14 x in 9 years! Kj
ReplyDeleteDoes your new community have guest rooms available to rent? For the few times a year you need to accommodate overnight guests, that might be a good alternative. Then you could utilize all your house space all the time.

Not that I know of.
DeleteLove your head band. Hope u get one more family get together at this house with Mike and Joyce Steve Bex and kids Lacy and Keera and one of your platters. Lilos/air mattresses and sleeping bags.
ReplyDeleteLove the headband. I wish I could wear one but my hair is so fine they slide off
