FBG McLAREN FALLS TRIP

Today I'm going on a day trip to McLaren Falls, which is a popular waterfall/walking track about an hour or so's drive away from here.

I'm going with a few FBG'ers.  It's a social walk/outing.

I've not been on any FBG walks this year so far, because of the heat.

But I decided a couple of weeks ago I would do this one, as there will be some shade, and now it's not quite as hot outside.

I will be driving over to Cambridge, then getting a ride with one of the members who's driving.  Car Pooling is great.

So, no sewing today.  No packing.  No nothing like that.  It will be a nice change.

3.45 pm.  I've had a WONDERFUL DAY.  The trip to and from the falls was uneventful.

The Falls themselves and all the different walks around the lake and through the bush?  GORGEOUS.  Utterly lovely.

There is a Cafe' there as well, and their food was truly FANTASTIC.   

It was so lovely ... I am making Stew take me back there on Sunday.

All in all, a splendid day.  Just what I needed.

Now that I'm home, I wish I was still there.  It was that lovely.

There was LOTS of traffic and a couple of delays due to road works.  One was where we had to sit and wait 20 minutes!  That's a long time looking at a STOP sign!

But we got there and back with out incident... except for one thing.

ABOVE:  My car got scratched while I was away, I'd left it in a carpark in Cambridge.  I'm not impressed, there was no 'SORRY' note on my windscreen.  Typical.

Grrrr.  I will talk to our insurance company about getting it fixed I suppose.

EMMA:  Thanks for the suggestion, we will give it a go ourselves on the weekend.

Stew has gone out to get us a burger for our dinner.  

9 pm:  Dinner is done, and so am I.  I'm off to bed soon.  Got a busy day tomorrow.  Just pottering around the yard.
