Well luckily I don't feel like the photo above. I'm feeling so much happier now that things are finally settled. Well I think they are. Our house purchase will go UNCONDITIONAL today or tomorrow, we have had to wait a couple of days for all the legal shimozzle to be sorted out.
Freakin' lawyers bla bla bla.
ABOVE: I got these four Runners finished yesterday afternoon. And today, all going well, I will get the last four finished as well.
They really don't take too long to construct, quilt and bind, being quite short.
I hope they appeal to all those people who kept asking for shorter ones, and cat ones.
Let's wait and see eh?
Our next market is this coming Saturday, at Tamahere.
Right, I'm off to do the small amount of housework needing doing, then I'll be in my sewing room if anyone wants me. lol
I have been sewing all morning.
Slowly getting through the runners.
AND... this happened:
We went UNCONDITIONAL on our new home purchase just now.So, it's a done deal, no backing out now!
I can rest easy, and make plans.
Very excited to be moving on to the next phase of our lives.... at the end of May.
Yes, we have a long settlement, due to the buyers of our current home needing a 3 month settlement.
It's now lunch time, so I will take a break from the sewing and feed me face.
Would you believe I have just spent over TWO HOURS on the phone organising accommodation in Whakatane, Gisborne and Napier for our little get away trip?Unbelievable.
But then, I do refuse to use BOOKING.COM, Trivago etc. I find those sites really difficult to navigate. I'm probably dumb as fuck, but I hate them.
I much prefer to actually speak to a person AT THE MOTEL/LODGE and know I've actually booked what I need/want.
Oh and if someone answers the phone and I simply cannot understand their 'English' I say thank you, but no thank you, and hang up. I had to do that twice.
I don't do conversations with people who can't speak without a thick accent, that I can't understand. Does my head in. If you live here in New Zealand, and are in a service industry, you should be easy to understand, end of story.
Was that a little rant? lol
Moving on... I now have our accommodation booked in. We know where we are going, but not necessarily what we shall be doing. Probably cruising all the beaches, scenic places, and so on.
I doubt there will be any fabric shops worth visiting, as prices over there will probably be way more expensive than here. Drat.
So, it's 10? days until we head off, plenty of time to get things organised here. Coco will of course, stay with Steve and Bex. Lacy can come over and keep and eye on the place for us as well.
Nearly time to think about dinner... well it will most likely be some crackers for me. I had a decent lunch.
Oh GAWD... what have I done? Lacy is already planning her 5 day 'holiday' in our home while we are away! 😂😅😖
Lovely colour combos .
ReplyDeleteHope it's all finalised sooner than later!
The runners are beautiful Chris. I'm sure they'll get snapped up lol. Kj
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteVickie
Congratulations!! Ky Girl
ReplyDeleteWhoop whoop congratulations can you move early though into the new home or can renovations start prior to leaving old property?
ReplyDeleteI am thinking that would be a no to both ideas.
DeleteCongratulations..
ReplyDeleteNow time to enjoy the planning to make it truly your home.
Congratulations on completing the confirmation of new home. Right reach forward now Chris and turn that stress dial to low until May.
ReplyDeleteWonderful news on the house.
ReplyDeleteWell Done! Moving on..... It will be a new and different experience.
ReplyDeleteI have completed day one of the new "job". It is mind boggling , how much goes on before the filming even starts.
It takes hours just to gather everyone's lunch order. People are in , then they get called out.... Get me a lunch, don't get me lunch. Pick up lunch. make lunch look beautiful and accessible. Clean up lunch.
And... That's just lunch on a Tuesday....
Well you are not going to get bored are ya? I hope YOU get time to have your own lunch!!!
DeleteYay!!@ congratulations 🎊
ReplyDeleteOh wow congratulations! I’m so happy that all the little ducks have lined up and you and Stew can now focus on your next chapter and adventures. You have plenty of time before settlement to de-stress; perhaps it’s a good time to re-establish your healthy exercise and eating regime 🤷♀️. I’m sure you’ll thank yourself when it comes to the end of May when you move into your new house feeling happy and healthy and perhaps minus the 8 kilos that stress eating has given you. You can only try
ReplyDeleteIt's usually cheaper too if you book direct with the accommodation. I tried booking.com once, never again. Annoyed the shit out of me with their texts
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - you can now call it your new home. Time to chill now
ReplyDeleteTotally agree about booking.com etc etc. I always contact the accommodation directly, mostly on their website, you will find that 95% of the time that booking.com is more expensive than contacting the owner directly. Eg. When in France I booked a bnb through website, $97AU a night, booking.com $170 a night. Owners of accommodation hate booking.com but can’t afford not to deal with them. Marie, Melbourne
ReplyDeleteI use Booking.com to find places and then go to the actual place directly. Sometimes you get a better deal direct but for our Sydney accommodation this month it was cheaper to book via booking.com.
DeleteAnother reason that we LOVE having a motorhome... no booking needed and we go as we please. I can seriously see you and Stew loving having one once you are in a lock n leave situation. Loads of people take their dogs too. You will love that trip around the cape, or are you just travelling from Whakatane directly inland to Gisborne? The East Cape drive is stunning so I hope you are doing that.
ReplyDeleteWe are definitely doing the East Cape Road. Neither of us has been that way, hence this trip. We plan on seeing as much of our own country as we can, while we can. Maybe a trip or two overseas later on, but time will tell on that.
