When I went to bed last night we had massive rain clouds hanging around.
If they are still around I'm NOT going to do the market.
No way am I going to risk getting all my stuff wet.
It is SUPPOSED to be fine all day.
I suppose the only way to check is get up and look out the window, but it's still dark.
Grrrrr.
I don't want to be awake at this ungodly hour, it's not helping my damn mood at all.
I tossed and turned all night long... FUMING mad.
MAD knowing I can't change what has happened in the past.
BUT SO RELIEVED I can do something about the future. And honour a promise too.
I said to her "Don't worry, I will get it sorted out for you". AND I WILL.
CRYPTIC for some I know. Sorry. But ya know... I just have to have me little rants sometimes. Letting off steam.
So, all going well the weather will be OK, and we will go to market. And see lots of lovely people and have a nice time. Wish us luck.
Or ... at least no rain.
THIS IS SO TRUE!
6.48 am: Well Stew and I have been awake since around 5 am. Too damn early to be awake.Looked outside at around 6 am to see a thick fog! Ugggh.
But now ? It has cleared already and it looks like we might be lucky with the weather.
So... we are packing up and getting ready to go.
I've got thermals on under me clothes, a thick jacket, wooly hat, gloves and a blanket.
JUST IN CASE I FREEZE. I probably will. Cos it is cold outside.
I'm not expecting much from this market. I don't think there has been any advertising done, so who knows it's even on?
And it's the first one EVER at this site.
I will let ya know how it's going, later on.
... 9 am. The fog went up and down like a bloody yo-yo... but it has gone completely now.
We are all set up. Have a cold site. Next time we will be moving to a new site.
But not today.
ABOVE: here we are. Got a customer.. better go.
ABOVE: Spot the crowds. Yeah. VERY VERY QUIET.
12.37 pm: finally made some sales. Sun is out. Nice to be at a market again. Yakking with fellow stall holders.
2.45 pm: And we are finally home with our feet up.
The market was probably one of the slowest on record! But, we made some sales and I'm happy to say it was better than a bad day at the Cambridge market!
We really enjoy the atmosphere of markets, getting to talk with other stall holders and customers.
ABOVE: You also get to see lovely boys like this. Look at that tongue! Huge, with lots of drool.
ABOVE: Next time we do this market (in July), this is where my site will be. Right beside the door leading into the inside stalls. It's perfect cos I am going to be mostly covered by the roof, and everyone will have to pass my stall to get inside.
ABOVE: THIS. The market organiser was horrified by it's colour, said it was like shit. 😂😅😆😆 I really like Butch! He's a real hard case.
ABOVE: Stew buying avocados on our way home. I think they are revolting. Like eating SLIME. Eeeeeew.
ABOVE: I forgot to show you where the market was. It's a really lovely Presbyterian Church. It's now 5 pm and we are expecting Steve, Bex and the boys for dinner.
Seems they are bringing the food. Nice.
Dinner tonight was Crumbed Chicken Sausages, Chicken steaks, Chicken pom poms (for the kids mostly), coleslaw, celery and egg salad (ikk), and mashed potatoes with cheese.
I'm STUFFED.
And so, so tired.
A 5 am start to the day is brutal! I'm off to bed, and it's only 9 pm.
Earliest bedtime in probably MONTHS.
Good Luck today! I hope the weather is divine and the people are pleasant, and you can get your mind off the BAD THING.

ReplyDeleteYum i love Avocado especially on an English muffin with bacon, tomato and eggs. Kj
ReplyDeleteOh my god - is that 50 cents for avocados??! They're minimum of $2 each in Western Australia. I am very jealous! Glad you made some market sales - hopefully the next one is busier as more people become aware of it. Liz
ReplyDeleteLiz we paid 2 years ago $6 per avocado!
ReplyDeleteBlondie
