MOVING IN DAY!

NO MORE DAYS to wait ... we move in today.

The moving company are due to arrive around 9 am, so that means an early start for us.

Up and out of this motel and over to the house first thing... get all the doors and windows open... and then get ready to direct the movers so everything gets put in the right place.

It's going to be a super busy day, so I really don't expect to be blogging much!

I took a walk through video last night:

ABOVE: Its a bit higgily piggly... I hope you can get the gist of the layout.

Please dont expect much more for ages today... I will try to do an update in between truck loads!

ONWARD...

So I got a phone call from Allied Pickfords at 9 am. Their forklift has broken down and they are waiting for a mechanic to arrive and fix it BEFORE they can bring over the first container.

Yep. Just our luck eh.

There is virtually nothing we can do here till they arrive.

It's now 11.15 am and still no trucks.

So I did some gardening.

ABOVE: Shrub overhanging what lawn we  have...

ABOVE: Gone now.

Stew and Brylee have gone to Mitre 10 for lightbulbs. Hope they make it brighter tonight.

1 pm... and they finally have the forklift fixed, so they should be here soon.

Then the real work begins.

2 pm... still not here. This is friggin ridiculous now.

4 pm: They arrived at 2.30 and have now finished unloading the 1st container.  Now waiting for the 2nd container then the final, smaller truck load.

ABOVE: Stew found a switch in the lounge that said "Pump"...so we switched it on and yaaaa! The pond pump works.

One less thing to fix.

So... I probably won't have my computer up and running till saturday some time... so no pretty colours most of the time ok. Lol

I'm taking a break until the last truck load arrives.

I whipped up to the Weight Watchers meeting.. I lost 100 grams! Ha ha ha.
Amazing considering how much crap we have eaten in the last week.

I'm going to sigh off for the day now.

Catch you tomorrow.

  9. Maybe you should ask for your $300 back due to their inability to deliver your goods on time! (Maybe you don't want to start fights, it's just kind of ironic)

  12. I'm sorry - this is the same moving company that stiffed you for more money because they "miscalculated". Tell them the forklift is their problem and if they have to pay to hire one (at their expense) then that is their problem, you had a contract with them, so far their behaviour is appalling!!!

I can’t believe a big company like that has only one forklift?! At least now you have a bargaining chip about the extra charge!
Hope it doesn’t throw your day out too much, enjoy the day as best you can!

I think I'd be threatening them with a solicitor. Surely they can hire one.

  16. What a nightmare for you, but it's out of your control so you've just gotta take it in your stride really! No point letting it stress you (although that is easier said than done, right?!)

  17. Ask them for your $200 back for the inconvenience and wasted time this has caused you.
