NO CHANGE, BORING OLD FART I AM

I'm feeling much the sam today, so still not better. Stew is going to work for a wee while this morning, but coming home again as soon as he's done the essential stuff.

Griffin is already up watching Dora The Explorer, of yaa... Cartoon Network for the next 2 weeks! There is so little to do around here in the middle of winter for kids... and Griffin can't do too much or he just coughs himself silly. Maybe a walk along the river today if it's fine enough?

Get this, I've eaten very little the past few days, but my weight just went up!!!!! How the fuck can that happen??? TOM??? fluid retention???? I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT, and sick or not I am going to be getting on my treadmill or exercycle today for sure! I think it has just proven to me how much my body has come to rely on it's exercise to maintain my weight

  2. Its probably because of the rest from exercise - I used to exercise 10 times a week (twice a day on three days of the week), and now I'm 'just' exercising 7 times a week and my body is not liking it and my weight isn't responding the way I'd like it.

The other thing is that you *could* be eating too little.

  3. Our bodies do crazy things! Don't get yourself down about it (yeah right like I'm a good example of that!! Pffft!!) If you haven't eaten too much it will come down again.

Sending the sickness fairy over to make ya feel better!

  4. Try to eat little and often to keep the metabolism raised.

    Hugs to ya.

  5. Don't panic about the weight gain. You have no way of knowing what's going on insode your body normally, and when you're sick all kinds of funky things can happen. The gain is *probably* fluid - your body is most likely madly trying to stop you dying from dehydration, and is holding onto every millilitre of fluid it can. Once you're eating and drinking normally, that particular survival mechanism won't be required any more and you'll ditch the excess fluid within a few days.

If food still isn't appealing, at least sip on a sports drink - the sugar isn't going to kill you and your body needs some sort of fuel while you're sick.

My best advice is to stay off the scales till you're well and back in your usual routine with both food and exercise. Things will even out.

  8. You're STILL off-colour?! You poor bugger. I'm off work today with tonsillitis and can't differentiate between aching muscles caused by a cold and and aching muscles from running - urgh!

Try not to get down about the weight, you need to give you body a rest to get better and then can get back to being an exercise fiend.

I hope the kids are having a good day and are feeling ok.

  18. Sounds like things are starting to turn around. Glad you are feeling better. Want you up to full speed by the first weekend in August. You deserve it and so do I.

Thanks heaps for your comments, we've said to ourselves, what a difference a year makes. You're right. 25 ya reckon, buggar that's still 3 years off for us. I guess I'd better develop a thicker skin then. Just hope it doesn't weigh too much. lol.

    Will catch you tomorrow.

  19. It is very strange about being sick. I had the flu a couple of months ago and spent all weekend in bed and ate nothing but tea and soup (mostly broth). On Monday morning I expected that I had lost about ten pounds. Instead I had gained two.
