HUGE PROGRESS...

So, as ya know, I've spent the last couple of days cutting out the bits for the Mariner's Compass Wall Hanging.

This is a progress shot:

ABOVE:  It's coming along nicely!   I can see now that I need to add some of the dark blue somewhere on the outer ring(s) to tie it in more.  Hmmmm.... will have to experiment on some possibilities. (The blue/gold border I added with photo editing)
As you can see, it's not going to be an exact replica of the one I got off Mr Google.

Do you like the mottled blue/white background fabric I used?  I was going to use white, but changed my mind at the last minute.

ABOVE:  Griffin cutting his Birthday Cake.  It was a really moist chocolate cake.
Rather nice.

ABOVE: Dante decided to empty his toy box all over the floor.
Patrick was amused.  He's always lurking, he likes to photo bomb ... a lot.

That soft toy amuses me.  It's weird.

So, today:  might take the girls for another little walk in the Gardens, depending on the weather.
Then it will be home to do more on the wall hanging.

I'm itching to get to the sewing stage.

ONWARD...

Right.  Walk done.  Got a huge surprise with Tallulah today!

She saw ducks and decided she would leap into the lake to get them!  She learnt really fast she could swim...

ABOVE:  OMG.. OMG... ducks!

ABOVE:  "I can swim!... didn't know that!"  Darn ducks still elusive though.

ABOVE:  It was a beautiful day for a walk in the park.

ABOVE:  It was so nice to be out in the sun and there was a nice cool wind too.  Perfect for walking in.

ABOVE: Picking flowers for Grandma.

ABOVE:  Two tired dogs... clipped in the car.  Oh my, I've had that huge clip for ages and never used it ... and it's perfect to keep them confined in the car!

I've got a little video of Tallulah leaping into the lake coming up....

ABOVE:  Tallulah chasing ducks.

Griffin just got home, and now it's time for him and I to head off to the High School for his Pre-Enrollment interview.  Fun.

Got up to the school and thought "Gee, there's not many parents here".... and then had another look at the notice in me bag.  WHOOPS!
Drop in sessions were yesterday, and tonight is booked appointments.
So, I hurried into the office and luckily they gave us an appointment for this evening.
Which is nice, cos Stew can come too now.

So now I can get the dinner on instead of Bex, and I can continue working on me M/Compass.

End of Day:  well I've been a busy girl, sewing!  I have made a start on doing the satin stitch around everything on the M/Compass Wall Hanging.  I got heaps done and will show you tomorrow.

  2. Loving the compass block. If you do a dark blue border (like in the photo) I don't think you need to add more in the outer ring. Griffin looks very happy with his cake.

  5. That compass looks amazing! The colours complement each other beautifully. The photos make me laugh and Dante picking flowers is lovely. I find the whole Sponge Bob Squarepants thing weird myself. I don't know, I just don't get a lot of kids cartoons these days. I guess I'm just getting old.
