CRAPPY WEATHER

The weather forecast is for RAIN, RAIN and MORE RAIN for the next few days.  Lovely... at least it should be cooler ... and that is good.

I'm thinking... would I look like a TOTAL IDIOT if I went swimming at the local pool with my snorkel and mask on?   Stew and Steve say 'YES'....   but I WANT TO.  I can swim free style for ages if I don't have to keep putting my head out to breath!  AND do I really care what other people think?  (well I do actually).... but still....

I love swimming, but get so tired so quick if I have to do that... but if I wear the snorkel and mask I can just swim and swim for ages.

OPINIONS????

I am thinking of going swimming at the local pool again on a regular basis... so please let me know what you think!

So... ONWARD.... should be a good day...

Steve and I went out and bought a few birthday presents... birthdays this week:  Huston (9), Rena (3) and Kelly (29)... we are going to combined birthday party for Kelly and Rena next weekend.  Tis an expensive time!

Just had lunch... and thinking of going swimming tomorrow... WITH the snorkel and mask...  as so many of you think it will be fine.

Oh and I'm doing something most of you who know me will NOT BELIEVE!  Any idea what it is????  lol

WOW!  Virtually EVERYONE has guessed right!  I AM DRINKING FRIGGIN WATER...

ABOVE: Some of the girls at Stew's work use this stuff, so Stew got some to try... now I am drinking it too.  It is quite nice... not too sickly sweet and so easy to slip a sachet into your bag... they are tiny.  I have only tried the Mixed Berry flavour so far... it's very subtle, which I like.  Other good thing?  Only about 4 calories per 750 mils.  How excellent is that then?

HAPPY ELF MUM:  lol... you made me laugh out loud with that comment!  No SHOCK happening yet... will keep you informed....

Remember all that rain I was talking about this morning?  Well we haven't seen ANY since about 7am.... it's now super hot and humid... and I feel crabby as ... I hate it being this humid.  Bring on WINTER please!

WOMBAT:  OH MY GOD it is water!  I swear I held me bottle under the TAP and ran WATER into the bottle!  The other stuff I added is not very sweet at all.... GO BUY SOME and see!   *SNIFF*...

End of Day:  thanks for all the 'just do it's'... I really appreciate it.  I will be in the pool WITH me snorkel and goggles tomorrow!
DIET: so-so

GREAT NEWS!!!! the surgon said that the reason the temporary graft had slid so badly already is that the skin under it is healed of course its not pretty pink skin but deep red and tender but the new dermis is there and there is nothing for that part of the graft to adhere to. the other peices are still on tight so not as healed yet! Keep praying Gods listening!

  3. My opinion is "Go for it". We're all way beyond the age where we care what other people think!! And.... you see people doing all sorts of things in the name of fitness.

Ask them! That way, if you turn up with them and they say no way, you won't feel like a dork. They may say it's fine and dandy.

Crap weather - makes me want to stay home but NO... I must away to work!! Four days left!! Woohoo!

People use flippers & goggles all the time. If you don't feel comfortable with a snorkel then get a kick board. You see all sorts at the pool I don't see anything silly in what you are wanting to do GO FOR IT.

  13. Going swimming for fitness is a great idea!! It will tone every part of your body... but please don't swim in the ocean alone...

  14. You may look odd to some, but really... Does a woman ever have to explain? I don't think so. I will tell you this: there used to be an elderly gentlemen at the Y that would swim forever with a snorkel and I admired the hell out of him. I say do it! If it gets you moving, and you like it, GO FOR IT.

  15. Take the mask and snorkel.

At least you'll be different to all those idiots in goggles.

Just think your eyes will be so much better protected..... I wish we had a decent pool nearby, especially a heated one.

    God and do. Blessings

  16. Snorkel and mask at the pool? People will laugh at you for a while. Don't react in a negative way and they'll be bored and move on to something else.

  17. Yes, there will always be people who stare, but if they do not have rules against it -then Most Certainly do it. We are talking about You health here(not the others) . If you can carry on - maybe you would get strong enough not to feel like you need them later down the road.

Everything I have read about swimming says it is Wonderful exercise for your joints and it seems to me that it would be so good for your legs too. I am jealous because I do not know how to swim-If I could I would hop right over there and go with you! : )

I don't think the family will die of embarassment!!! Swiming is fabulous exercise. Take the flippers too........you'll be scuba diving in no time :0)

  25. You are drinking water, and don't worry about what people think, who cares Chris.

  26. Hey Chris! Sorry I haven't commented in a while - lot going on around here. Anyway, I say definitely take your mask and snorkel. Swimming is such good exercise and tones your whole body....and if using your mask and snorkel will help you to swim longer, then do it! The only reason I wouldn't is if the pool has rules against using them, but I doubt they do. And just enjoy yourself and don't worry about what anyone else thinks...that's one of the truly great things about getting to be our age... ya just don't care quite as much what people think! Enjoy your swim!

    XOXO,

    Cyndi

  34. I was thinking about you, here it is the beginning of spring, which means there it is the first day of fall. You bet it will be cooling down.....

You swim how you want, and don't even wonder what other people think. A mask and snorkel in a pool is fine by me!

  35. Have fun in the pool! Hope it cools off for you soon.

  36. I just started a new diet thing that requires me to drink about 3 times more water than I normally do. I've been managing but I add a dash of diet cordial. I much prefer the supermarket flavoured waters but they are soooo expensive. I might keep my eye out for something similar here in Adelaide! Good luck! It's actually very good for you, and just a tip - diet fizzy drinks actually make you gain weight, so be careful.... xxxx

  37. Don't talk to me about rain. We only had one dry day this month. It's also been cold. Don't know what happened to the spring sun.
