ABOVE: Last year this feijoa tree was lush, green, and covered with masses of feijoas... almost ready to pick and eat.
NOW? I am cutting it down. Cos.... much as feijoas may LOOK like TENNIS BALLS...... they really are not!
Brylee and Griffin must have THOUGHT it was a Tennis Ball Tree, cos they got two tennis rackets and hit all them lovely feijoas right off that tree!
THE TREE HAS PACKED A SHIT..... AND DIED .
So now.. the baby climbing gym is there instead.
ABOVE: I wanted our back yard to look bigger, but maybe not at the expense of the feijoa tree! I love feijoas! *sniff*
I was not amused when it first happened, you should have seen the look on Brylee and Griffin's faces after I had finished ranting at them! Priceless. NOW... I have to stifle a smile! It is only a tree. I planted two more.
TODAY? I'm taking my sewing machine over to Howick to be picked up by the repairman. And they are giving me a 'loaner' machine to use.. so that's good! I can still do some sewing.
Done. The machine is back at the shop... and I told the lady there that it was the last time I was going to bring it back for repair, if it plays up anymore, we expect a new machine.
I'm now off to do some sewing on the loaner machine... which is not as fancy as mine, but it will do eh?
*************** I JUST HAD A RANT ON PEPSI! ***************** and I went on.. and on... and on...
End of Day: feeling flat. Crabby. Tired. Annoyed. Going now before I start ranting here too! nite nite.
Oh know how could they do that to feijoa's my fav fruit - oh so sad!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI had a wee snigger when reading about the fate of the fegioa tree. Hope u get some satisfation with this sewing machine
ReplyDeleteMust say I have never had a feijoa.
ReplyDeleteCongrats also to Sparkling Merlot for her win.
Kids killed your tree? I have never had a feijoa. Or heard of them.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that kind of tree, but may it RIP. If your as good at tree planting as you are at sewing, your new ones will be growing fast. I hope you get your sewing machine sorted out.
ReplyDeleteLOL poor tree.....
ReplyDeleteBugger about the tree! oh how i love feijoa's, maybe its a kiwi thing? I hope your sewing machine gets sored, for the amount of money you spent on it i would of exspected more to be done to help you
ReplyDeleteChris,
ReplyDeleteThe consumers guarantee's act covers all new goods and protects the buyers as all new goods 'must be fit for the purpose for which they are made, but also guarantees that new goods are of acceptable. By law this means
*safe
*durable - last for a reasonable time
*have no minor defects
otherwise the retailer has a legal responibility to replace the item.
Your sewing machine is suppose to sew, I would be quoting the consumers guarantee's act to them (ie, their legal responbility) and making noices about making an official complaint against them shop via the ministry of consumers affairs.
That should see them taking this issue a bit more seriously.
You are totally covered by this act.
If you want to take a week peak to support your case, check out

Hi Chris,
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your machine! I am in the same boat with you - had to take mine to the shop too and they said they will keep it for at least 2 weeks because they are behind. I will be curious to see which of us get them back first.
I Just cannot get over your new look! You are truly beautiful both ways. Does your hubby get as confused as I am and wonder if he has the same woman???????? LOL
I must be getting old and don't adapt to change easily??? I had another friend that cut her hair and when I saw her I just kept staring to see if it really was my friend hiding in that new look???
I am so sorry about your little tree. I Love fruit of any kind!!!!
I really am sooooooooooo glad I don't sew!!
ReplyDeleteDEMAND a new machine. This has gone on long enough. It's not as if you are a novice sewer and don't know how to use it.
ReplyDeleteSo, what do feijoas taste like? And look like? I think you can plant anything now, the kids will be thinking twice before they interfere with your garden!
I have never heard of that fruit before.
ReplyDeleteGreat advice from Lynise :)
Aawww that feijoa would have made a come back. [blasted kids!] I love feijoas too, but you don't see them much here in Oz.
ReplyDeleteThat sewing machine of yours is cursed y'know! lol
Hi Chris, sounds like you had a rough day. Could you please email me, jemaster@optusnet.com.au. I forgot about the material I got for you on Oztion, I will pay tonight and send it when it arrives.
ReplyDeletetake care
Maggie
I hope that tomorrow is a better day for you Chris.
ReplyDeletehugssssssss
ReplyDeleteFeijoas? I have not a clue! Obviously that isn't a fruit that we have in Texas!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of feijoas. I'd be so pissed if my kids broke one of my trees!!
ReplyDeleteWow that machine must really be a lemon to be broken AGAIN!!
Poor tree, naughty kids. Any news on the getting a new machine?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until my kids are older so I can get rig of the swing and slide in our backyard. They take up too much space.
