A FINISH TODAY?

Today is Patchwork class, and I hope to get the binding sewn on Alec's wall hanging, and maybe even start the hand stitching too.

That should keep me busy in class all morning. Not that I can't still natter away to the other ladies, I'm sure I will.  lol

Once I get home I'm going to make a start on getting a few things ready for tomorrow's little jaunt away.  Stew and I are really looking forward to it.

We have a few ideas on what we are going to do... places to visit etc.

More on that tomorrow.  *smiles*

So basically, that's me for now!
Not much for the start of the day today.

ONWARD...

Bex is 30 weeks today... not long now till Grandchild No# 13 gets here!  (May 1st is Due Day).

No reply to my text to the Archgola guy yet.  He lives on his phone, so I know he's got it. Grrrrr.

Home from class.  We were a fairly quiet group today, some chit chat but mostly heads down sewing.  I got the binding sewn on, now all I have to do is the hand stitching.  I'll leave that till tonight.  I can do it while watching Coronation Street *smiles*.

This afternoon I might make a start on Sarah's wall hanging.  She's not even born yet!  lol
She's due in the next few days.  Bernadette (lady I work with at Hospice), has 3 grandchildren born/due in the space of a couple of months!  Lucky girl.

Right... off to get some lunch and then down to the sewing room.

This is how I spent my afternoon:

ABOVE:  The top is the original picture, below is my version.  I changed the eyes cos I didn't like the originals.  Bear in mind none of the stitching is done yet, so details like lines and edging isn't done yet.
It hasn't photographed that well... it's really lovely!
She is going to have little butterflies around her head, and Sarah's name running down the right hand side (I think).

Now... I'm off to watch Master Chef, then Coronation Street.  I love Friday nights!

End of Day:  a lovely day, topped off by some of my favourite TV programmes.

AS THE DAYS GO BY...

I'm getting really cross.

Monday of LAST week I got a text from the Archgola man (after I'd text'd him 3 days prior)... in it he said as soon as the curtains were ready they would be around to install them, and he thought that would be in the next FEW days.

Well... obviously that was 11 days ago.  I'm trying to keep a lid on my annoyance and not ring/text or email him.  Cos, to be honest I'm likely to get really pissy at him.

So, I'm holding it in.  Steve wanted to ring him last night and have a go at him, but I stopped him ... cos it won't get the bloody side curtains up any quicker will it?

I'm so frustrated!

Moving on.   I forgot to show you the lovely flowers Stew brought home the other night:

ABOVE:  He gave them to me "just because he loves me".  I'm a lucky girl.

While I was at the mall yesterday, I walked past a shop that sells incense, and I could smell it.  So nice.  So I went in and bought some.

We have a nice incense burner that we haven't used in YEARS.  We got it in Singapore many years ago, and it holds some lovely memories for us.  Anyway, I put some incense in it late last night:

ABOVE:  Stew walked into the room and said he really liked the smell.  So, I'll probably burn incense more often. (I had a cone inside the Buddha)

Today?  I really should do some sewing!  I've been saying it for days.  Now I don't think I will put it off any longer.  I do actually LOVE it once I get started.  It's just the 'getting  started' I sometimes dither with.

ONWARD...

FIVE... HOURS... OF .... SEWING!  And I can't see properly!  My vision is all blurry.  I had to stop.
But I got done heaps:

ABOVE:  I have got all the satin stitch done around everything.  And now all I have to do is put the binding on.

Whenever my camera comes out, young Dante says 'ME'... hence he's in a lot of photos!

ABOVE:  he's growing up so fast!  He just had his haircut again, it makes him look like a little boy now, not a toddler any more.

So, that's what I've been up to today. Now I'm taking a break from sewing until tomorrow.

Oh... I sent a text to the Archgola man... and funnily enough, I've not heard back from him.  I was polite and just asked him what was happening with our side curtains?   If he runs to form, I will hear from him in 2-3 days.

End of Day:  well, another good day.  So glad I got that wall hanging well on the way to being done.
I've been watching TV most of the evening... even though my vision is still blurry!  I'm now glued to the telly watching some medical programme that doesn't finish till 20 past 12!
Oh well.  A slightly later night for me.

NEW HAIR COLOUR TODAY

Today I've got a hair appointment late morning.  I'm going darker this time.
Totally sick of massive re-growth.  Might even get my hair colour back to it's 'REAL' colour.  Which is mouse.

Mouse = I used to be blonde many moons ago, but now I'm just 'not blonde/not brown'.  MOUSE.

It's a non-colour really, and I hate it.  That's why I keep getting it re-blonded.  But you have to call a halt at some point I reckon... well I am going to anyway.

Today I shall start the transition.  Half blonde highlights, half brownish.

I hope it comes out ok.

While I'm at the mall I shall pop into Telecom and get a thingee so I can use my laptop while we are away.  I haven't had one of those thingees before... can't even think of the name for them... but you plug them into the side of ya computer and you can get the internet from anywhere.

Stew reckons I can use 'free' wi-fi from various places.  But I want my own, secure connection.
So, that's me for now, I don't think I have any other plans for the day.   When I get home, IF I'm happy with the hair I'll take a photo to show you.

Until then... catch ya later.

ONWARD...

Really?  A before photo?  It's just me hair, blonded, with massive re-growth, you've all seen it before!
But... because you asked, you pains in the bum:

ABOVE:  See?  Boring.  I often think I wear it up most of the time to avoid showing so much re-growth.  I hate the re-growth look.  I've got fast growing hair, so it shows in about a week.

*sigh* ... anyway.  I'm outta here.

THREE...HOURS...LATER.   I had decided, once I got there, to get it all just dyed light brown and be done with it... And they REFUSED to dye my hair dark!  They said I would hate it, and they were probably right.
So we settled on some light, some dark ... which was my original idea.

ABOVE:  So, it's darker, but not too dark.  I'm still going to get re-growth showing, but maybe not so bad.
Time will tell.  And I can always get more dark put in next time if I'm still not happy with it.

Once I got home I was starving, it was after 2 pm after all!  So I had some lunch and watched Home and Away with Bex.

Now I have to sort out dinner.  Tonight I'm just doing a beef and bacon stew with veges.

End of Day:  A very quiet evening, spent watching the TV.  Still done no sewing!  Whoops.

MADE SOME WEEKEND PLANS

I did something last night that was long overdue.

I booked Stew and I into a Motel up North for this coming weekend!

Can you believe it?  We are going to have a KID. FREE. WEEKEND. AWAY!

This is will be the second time in ... ummm... 2 years?  3 years?  Clearly it's so long ago I can't freakin remember!

I can't wait.

AND I've booked a suite with a KING SIZE bed... cos well.... that's what we are used to, and anything smaller is usually uncomfortable.

Today?  I was told by one of the ladies I work with yesterday that our local Hospice shop has some fabric pieces for sale, so I'm going to hot foot it down there this morning to see if they have any left.
It's a long shot... they may have already gone, OR, they may be the wrong sort of fabric for what I do.  But it won't hurt to go look.

Once I've done that, I suppose I shall come home and get on with the sewing.

So... a kinda normal day.  YES.  Normal.  It does happen!

ONWARD...

I've done the 'rounds' of op shops this morning!
I went to our local Hospice shop and got these:

ABOVE:  That is 4 packs of their fabrics.... I actually LEFT behind another 4-5 packs, cos they just didn't appeal.  Some of these fabrics I may never use.  But I got them 'just in case' I do need something like it.

Because I do a lot of applique', it's never a bad thing to have lots of small, odd pieces.

After our local, I decided to  visit the Hospice shop in Takanini....

ABOVE:  where I got these treasures.  You can never have too much Tupperware, or melamine trays!  And that mirror is perfect for in my sewing room.  It tilts and swivels, so I can adjust it so I can see anyone coming into the room behind me.

I can't count the number of times I've had the fright of my life when someone comes in and just taps me on the shoulder, or deliberately tries to scare me!  Grrrrr. Now I will see them coming better.

After Takanini, I went to Papakura, to the Salvation Army op shop, where I bought a cute Tupperware butter dish... only I left in in the next shop I visited!

Which was Fabricland in Papakura.  Where I bought this lot:

ABOVE: They have a big bin of fabric scraps, so I got 20 pieces for $15, and 2 fat quarters.

So, as you can see, I've had a fun morning spending only a wee bit of money!

What else can I do?  I've got no 'girlfriends' to visit and have a natter to.  *sigh*
How I miss that.  I wish it wasn't so, but it is.  Thank god for me blog... at least I do 'hear' from friends most days via comments!

I'm now off to have an early lunch, then do some sewing, and put away all those bits of fabric.

Ha ha!  Didn't do any sewing after all.  I had a nap!  I'm kinda bored I think.  Or just over shit and don't feel like doing much.
I hope this weekend perks me up.

I made the family pork chops, potato wedges and lettuce salad for dinner... it seems to be going down rather well.

My 'main' dinner was at lunch time, a stir fry of veges.

This evening I might make a start on the stitching of the seahorse wall hanging.   Maybe.

End of Day:  well it's obvious to me that I don't feel like sewing today!  I did none at all.  LOL
Whiled the evening away in front of the telly.  Totally lazy.

ANOTHER BLOKE IN ME KITCHEN

Seems I've got another bloke coming to check out me kitchen floor.  Only this time he's measuring up to actually do the repair.
So, maybe that means they have found more of the same laminate, and I don't have to have it all ripped up.

Now that would make my day/week/month!

He's due here at around 8 am... so I better actually be up and dressed eh?

Last time a bloke called in early-ish, I was still in me nightie!

It's Hospice again this afternoon too... so I shall probably do some sewing this morning before I go out.

Lacy sent me a few cute photos of Miss Muppet last night:

ABOVE:  Hopefully, next time Lacy makes sure Keera's not looking into the sun!  Poor kid's got her eyes all screwed up.  Isn't she's getting so big!  We haven't seen her since Christmas... so a visit would be nice soon.  *hint hint*

Right, that's all I've got for now... so catch ya later.  P.S.  Not heard from the Archgola man in a week...  maybe I will this week?

ONWARD...

Well, the flooring man arrived and decided he didn't know what sort of flooring we had, so he left to find out.  I rang the Insurance company, and according to them that bloke was just pricing up the job for one of the companies that came last week.

So... it's not about to get fixed yet.

After he left, I decided to move my Britto cabinet back into the lounge, so that took me an hour and a half!  I had to take EVERYTHING out of it, including the shelves and glass doors so I could push/pull it easier.
WHAT. A. JOB.  But, it's done now, and I'm happy.

The family room was looking far too cluttered, and the lounge was looking a bit empty since taking the dining room stuff out of it.

Sorted now.  Till.... I decide to move it all again.  *sigh*  Sometimes I hate myself for having the 'move it' bug.

Now that I'm all hot a sweaty (not a good look), I'm off to have a shower and then go to Hospice duty.

Home.  It was not that busy at the shop this afternoon, I'd say slow but steady.  I, of course, managed to find some treasure:

ABOVE:  More cute book ends for Dante, a steam pudding thingee, gorgeous coffee mugs, tupperware dish, lollie bowl, handy pincushions, quilting safety pins and a cute wee metal till.  Neat eh?

ABOVE:  and... a container full of buttons for Bex.  I've got heaps of my own, so thought she would like some of her own... to build her 'stash'.

End of Day:  an excellent day really.  I got heaps done in the house, and scored some lovely bargins at the Hospice Shop too.

ALEC'S WALL HANGING

Well... I think I got a lot done on baby Alec's wall hanging last night.  I got all the pieces cut out and ironed down, now I have the massive task of doing all the stitiching/quilting/backing/binding etc.

Not a two minute job.

But first, I have to go to Spotlight and buy some black thread.  This project will take a lot of it, and I've actually got NONE!

I don't know how I ran out of one of the most basic colours!

Now.   I shall show you how far it's come, since it was just an idea yesterday afternoon:

ABOVE:  bear in mind there is still heaps to do... but you can get the drift.  The butterfly needs bright dots on it's wings I think.
I personally wouldn't have put a butterfly on this wall hanging, but Bernadette wanted one.  Butterflies have a special significance to her and her family.

For the rest of the day, if we don't go out and about, I shall be sewing I expect.
So... until later...

ONWARD...

We just did the grocery shopping.  It was OK, fairly busy in the supermarket but I didn't get all grumpy.

Lunch just done, now going to chill out for  a little while before going down to the sewing room.    I did get some more thread, inside Spotlight was bedlam! There is a big sale on right now, but I really don't need anything.

Huge queues at the fabric counter, luckily I only needed thread.

Well... it's been a very quiet, uneventful day here.  I cooked beef nachos for dinner, it went down well with the family, expect for Dante, who found them a bit too hot.
So he had baked beans.

End of Day:  I am finding the days are getting slightly cooler... which is wonderful!
I still get hot as hell, but not as often.

SYLVIA PARK WITHDRAWALS!

I can't remember the last time we went to Sylvia Park, most likely two weeks ago when Stew and I did the grocery shopping.

That's quite a while in my book!  I'm having withdrawal twitches.

So I said to Stew last night we were going there today... so we are.

I don't know what it is about that place really!  It's always crowded and drives me nuts, but I love it.  It's THE BEST mall in New Zealand I reckon.

Though there is something to be said for small suburban shopping centres too.  I like the independent shops you find there.  And OP shops of course.  You sure won't find an OP shop in Sylvia Park!

So, that's the plan for today... a wander around the mall, lunch there then home I expect.
Should be a nice day.  I think Steve and Bex are going there as well.. we might meet up for lunch.

I took a photo of a quilt in progress in my Patchwork Class yesterday, then forgot to show it.

Val has been making it for months, and I am gobsmacked at her talent and determination.  It's all done using the Freezer Paper,  Foundation Piecing method, which is a nightmare!  She's go so many different shades of fabric in it, I really don't know how she keeps it all clear in her head...

ABOVE:  she lay out some of the pieces to work out what block comes next... and I could finally see how it might look finished.  She is going to do a Mariner's Compass in the middle and the outside borders are going to be in lilac.
Quite awesome.  (picture shown with Val's permission)

ABOVE:  Working it all out.  Janet is an amazing Tutor, she's helped Val keep from getting her blocks all muddled up!

After I've finished the three applique projects I'm starting work on, I'm going to make another quilt for my bed.  Something complicated that requires making blocks.  I want a challenge.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY to all those who think you need a 'special' day to say I love you.  Personally, I get told that EVERY SINGLE DAY by my darling.  I'm rather lucky.  And he knows I love him, cos well... I sleep with him!  ha ha ha!

On that note, I'm outta here.
Catch ya later on in the day.

ONWARD...

Well... we did indeed go to Sylvia Park.  Bex and Dante joined us there.
As I'd not bought any Britto in a while, we checked out what was new and got these:

ABOVE:  Cute little Stitch, and a glass cake plate and server.
We then had lunch at the foodcourt, I had my first Kebab of the year, it was lovely.

ABOVE:  My Britto cabinet is looking really good!  I also love all my blue pottery and nautical stuff.

It's now time to chill out for a while, then do a Skype session with some family.

So I had a lovely session talking to the grandkids in Australia.  They are growing so fast.  Miss Sienna had a bit to say for herself, while Bodhi was more reserved... but I did get a word out of him when I mentioned they might go to McDonalds for lunch!  Cute boy.

Thanks Tess for the chat with the kids.  I hope we can do it again regularly.

This afternoon I decided to start proper on one of the little wall hanging for my friend Bernadette.

I hope to have something to show for my hours in the sewing room by tomorrow.

End of Day:  I can't believe it!  I've got NO black thread, so I've had to stop working on my next project.  I've got everything ready to start stitching... so tomorrow I shall get some thread and start the sewing.
For now?  Watch TV I suppose... or do a jig saw.

BLACK FRIDAY... WHO CARES!

MORNING!
I'm not superstitious in the least, so I don't care that it's BLACK FRIDAY.  Do you?

I'm off to Patchwork Class today.  It's been about 10 weeks since our last class, so it will be lovely to see all the ladies again.

For the last term.  Cos the owner of the shop is selling up and leaving Auckland.  Half the class ladies live in Pukekohe, so I don't expect to see them again.

There are a few of us who might form a small, informal group at the Tutor's home... well, that was a suggestion thrown out there when we finished last term.   I hope it happens.

Before I go to class, I shall be going to Warehouse Stationery to get a couple of pictures enlarged for two 'name' wallhangings and the cot bumper name pad.

I found a darling wee pink/lilac dragon for the baby girl's wallhanging, the baby boy's will be a seahorse and OUR Baby boy No# 2 is having a Lemur cot bumper pad.
So, I've got lots on the go... almost.

At class all I will probably get done is tracing out the patterns onto Steam a Seam, ready for ironing onto fabric when I get home.

But that's fine, I can happily do that and natter away to the ladies.

So, that will be me for the morning, I expect to be home by around 1 pm... just in time for lunch... and watching Home and Away.  *smiles*

What are you up to today?  It's Friday, so I expect quite a few of you are looking forward to the end of the day... it's the weekend ahead.  Yaaa.

ONWARD...

Ha ha!  I went to class and sat there and YAKKED all morning!  I did no actual sewing at all.  Come to think of it, no one got too much done.  *smiles*
It was just nice being there, must have missed it.
We had two new ladies join this term.  I hope they know it's folding in 7 weeks!
Fingers crossed our Tutor does set up a class at her home for us.

Came home hoping like hell the Archgola guys MIGHT have turned up, but no.    So, obviously it will be NEXT week.
I know they have my 'business' now, but I've only paid for half the job, so he doesn't have all me money yet.

Bex is being a bitch.  She's standing at the bench eating spoonfuls of Salted Caramel sauce and going "Mmmmmmm.....".

I'm now going to have my lunch... steamed cauliflower with some cheese sprinkled on top.

And wow, I've not been back all afternoon/evening!  Naughty.   And I did nothing much either, just watched telly, had a granny nap and then watched some more TV!

End of Day:  black friday and nothing bad happened here.  Success!
lol

HOME ALL DAY

First up... THANK YOU everyone for showing you care!  I'm hoping I never get that close to deleting my blog ever again.  I just have to remember that I really enjoy being here, and not let upsets make me stop blogging.

Today I have the second flooring company coming to measure and quote to repair the kitchen floor.  Fingers crossed the insurance company get the quotes (2) and move forward swiftly.

Actually... I feel 100% confident they will.  AA Insurance have been bloody FANTASTIC with their speed and communication, and so helpful and courteous.  I would recommend them to anyone.

ARCHGOLA SIDE CURTAINS:  no word on WHEN they might arrive.  No surprises there.

I plan on making a start on those three smallish projects that I have lined up.  Now that I have the white backing fabric I can start.

I love starting a new project, so having three is cool.

So, that's me for now... catch ya later.

ONWARD...

And... no sewing has been done.  I've spent the past two hours pottering around in the house, moving a few things, tidying up, wiping bences, the heath and so on.  I could spend another 2 hours doing similar stuff, but instead now I'm going to groom the dog's tails and ears.

They get really knotty fast.

FROGGY:  I would have to get 3-4 'tarps' to cover the entire area!  And I doubt they would be long enough either.
*sigh*  I shall just have to wait for those side curtains... I'm hoping they are not too far away now.  He said they usually take about 2 weeks, and today is two weeks.

ABOVE: I've got a bloke under me sink.  Almost got 'builder's crack' going on... but I'm glad we don't cos it wouldn't be nice.  He's older and very overweight.  I'm surprised he could get up off the floor to be honest, he really struggled.

Nice man though, very smiley and talkative.

Now, late in the day, I'm going downstairs to sort out some stuff for tomorrow's Patchwork Class.

Well, a very quiet afternoon.  I didn't have to do much for dinner as we had meatloaf out of the freezer.

End of Day:  I think I'm ready for tomorrow's patchwork class.
Time to chill out for the evening.

A NEW DAY, BACK IN BLOGWORLD

First up... apologies for going off line for a couple of days.  I needed a break.

Now I'm back, and here's a few photos that got deleted or are new:

ABOVE:  I finally put my diamond studs in.  And it didn't hurt at all.

ABOVE:  Hospice Treasure that I got on Monday.  Dante kept saying "Mine?"... so bloody cute.

ABOVE: the baby quilt for my niece, I've already posted it to her.

Now.  Back to the present day.

We had the first company come in to do a quote to fix the kitchen floor yesterday, and another company is due tomorrow.
There is some doubt that they can still get the same laminate, even though it's only just 2 years old!
So... I am really hoping like hell that they still have it, cos if they don't they will have to replace ALL the laminate!!!

And if that's the case, I don't WANT LAMINATE put down again.  It's a crap product as far as I'm concerned.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that though (all being replaced), as it was a nightmare last time.

Right, that's about all I have to yabber on about right now... I'm relieved to be back in a happy place and blogging again.

ONWARD...

Well.. I've had a busy and happy morning!
I went down to Spotlight for some white fabric to make the name pad for Bex and Steve's next baby boy, AND two name wall hangings for Bernie's grandkids who arrived this year.  I work with Bernie at Hospice Shop.

I went to get three fat quarters too, but when I got up to the counter the lady told me that I could get 10 for $20!  That's a huge saving, so I did indeed get 10:

ABOVE: I chose nice brights of course.  They will come in handy at some point.  I had kinda decided NOT to buy any more fat quarters unless I really needed one, because I have quite a few already.  But honestly, you can never have too many!

After Spotlight I went over to my Hospice Shop and found two good buys:

ABOVE:  the lovely wooden mirror, perfect for a bedroom and that funky metal thing ... which I shall use as a candle holder.  I don't think it's acutally a candle holder cos it's got grooves at the top for screwing something onto it... but still, it's perfect for a candle holder don't ya think?

After that I decided, on a whim, to visit Bex and Dante at Playcentre.  That was just lovely as Dante hasn't seen me there before.  His face was PRICELESS when I walked in and sat down near him!

He looked totally bemused, then said 'Hello Grandma"!  Then proceeded to show off in front of me... like he never sees me.  lol

Too cute.  I stayed about 40 minutes, then stopped in at the supermarket for some fresh veges for dinner and came home.

Very happy with my morning.

After my usual lunch in front of the TV (I had some cheese)... I proceeded to prepare dinner.

Tonight:  Mince stew (pork and beef), with bacon and onions.  Mashed potatoes and mini vegetable quiches, broccoli sprinkled with cheese.

Mixed vege quiche for the kids and mushroom/onion and bacon for the grown ups.  The kids hate mushrooms.

I'm going to have some cos it's all good food, nothing processed.

End of Day:  well an excellent day... dinner was lovely and everyone enjoyed it.
Time to relax for the evening.

I SHALL BE BACK

TOMORROW

I DID IT

I've been freaking out about taking the studs out of my new piercings, and putting in my diamond earrings that Stew got me for Christmas.

Last night as I was winding down my computer/blog for the night I just thought... I'm gunna do it right now. (6 weeks was almost up)

So I did.  No sweating, no shaking, no shitting myself... I just calmly took out the chemist's studs and slipped in me diamonds!

And it didn't hurt AT ALL.  And they still don't.

Rather proud of myself... cos I really am a sook when it comes to stuff like that.

Now they can stay in FOREVER.

Today I'm expecting someone here to look at the kitchen floor and do a quote for the Insurance company.   The insurance company get two quotes, so I expect another one to turn up some time soon too.

Then the process will begin.  Ripping up the floor, sanding, bla bla bla.  Oh friggin' joyful.  NOT.

My blue bubble is holding up well Kym!  I found myself singing yesterday at work... and kinda dancing around the shop!  Bernie (fellow worker) was impressed, she said it was lovely to see me so happy.  *smiles*

I'm doing the 'fake it till you make it' thing... and it's working.  I love ♥ love ♥ love music, so shall be listening to heaps more.  It is so uplifting.

First up today, I'm going to swing by a few blogs and see what's up with me friends.  Might have to do some housework too.  I shall just wing it today.

Catch ya later...

ONWARD...

ABOVE:  There ya go.  Me diamond studs are in.  Nothing much to SEE, but you asked.

DAMMIT!  I just hung out the washing, and felt all good about it.  Now it's raining!  And I still don't  have side curtains, so I better run and make sure everything is pulled up out of the way so it doesn't get wet.  Even though we have the Archgola (roof up), it can still rain in.

Just had the first flooring company arrive to measure up for the repair of our kitchen floor/cupboard.
He said "CROSS EVERYTHING WE CAN STILL GET THE SAME COLOUR LAMINATE"!

What?   NOOooooooooo!!!!   I sure will be crossing everything then!  There is NO WAY I want my entire floor ripped up AGAIN.  I will go mental.

Tomorrow's post will be going 'Public' again.
I have reverted to DRAFT Sat, Sun, Mon and will do today's too, so my kids will be left guessing what they missed, and they can't read the comments.  I don't want them to know it was a deliberate knee jerk reaction on my part.
Cos, well... it was.

I think next time I will just keep the blog public, but just not blog!  That would be much easier than having to issue invites!

End of Day:  well this is the last entry that will be reverted to draft, as tomorrow I go back 'online'.  I hope my kids have missed reading this!  I know lots of my friends and blog readers sure have!
