FIXED IT!

I finally figured out what was making me feel so ill EVERY SINGLE MORNING!

NO FOOD!  I am not a breakfast consumer ... never have been.

But, for the past few days I've been trying to eat a piece of toast first thing in the morning to see if that helped with the nausea.

And bugger me!  It has!  If I eat first thing, I don't feel so ill.  I still have some mild nausea for a little while, but nothing as bad as it has been!

So... I'm thinking it's the diabetes that's made the difference.  So now I will be eating a piece of toast for breakfast, or some yoghurt and fruit.

Healthy eh?  lol
I can't believe that's all it's taken to stop feeling so bloody ill in the morning.  Wish I'd cottoned on to that sooner I can tell ya!

Dante and I are going to the mall this morning, then I will take him home to Steve and Bex.

Then I am going to buy a long extension paint roller so I am ready for house painting once I get the paint.  I had hoped to paint early next week, but the weather forecast is shit, so it might have to wait a bit longer.

ABOVE:  What ya do when it's too hot.  *smiles*

ONWARD...

After having a nice wander around Sylvia Park, I dropped Dante back home to his Mum and Dad.  I stayed there for a good while, getting a lot of cuddles from Dante, and a few from Archer, who was grumpy due to teething.

Then home, and now I'm watching Home and Away from last night, then I'm going to do some housework.

Feeling down in the dumps this afternoon.  Mulling over and over the house sale... or rather LACK OF HOUSE SALE.  In a month our current contract with the Real Estate Agency we are with expires.  We are going to have to do some serious thinking about where to go from there.
Probably change agencies cos clearly the one we are with have not managed to sell it for us.  Not their fault, but maybe a fresh approach/agent will help?

Can't be bothered cooking tonight, it's so bloody hot I can't bear the thought of being in the kitchen.  So, takeaways I do believe.

We went to Manukau Mall for dinner tonight.  I had butter chicken, as usual, I only ate a couple of spoons full of rice.  And Griffin ate most of my chicken!  I really only like the sauce.

Home and now watching Master Chef that we taped earlier.

Well, having something (however small) to eat first thing worked when you were pregnant so can see why it would work with diabetes. Hope it carries on working! Audrey from Rotorua

    1. I didn't have breakfast when I was pregnant either. And I grew perfectly healthy babies!

  4. Do you test your blood sugar levels at home ? I was given a machine to do mine when first diagnosed but I am not on tablets (yet).
I have been a breakfast person since my first pregnancy and giving up smoking.

    1. I don't test my blood. Stew does once a week. I am on Metformin tablets, so is Stew.

  5. Funny you commenters mentioning pregnancy - I am pregnant for the first time myself and was going to say I have noticed the same thing. Even if I just have a piece of toast I feel a lot more predictably okay! Maybe there is something in that? If you want it to be easy and not too big a breakfast meal Chris, I have a granola recipe that I love. 1/4 or 1/2 a cup of that with milk or yoghurt and I can be set for a couple of hours.

Most importantly - I'm glad you've found a solution! Penny xo

    1. I've tried many muesli recipes over the years, but not for breakfast! I simply do not 'do' breakfast. But the toast is certainly helping. Shit, if I felt ill every morning while pregnant I'd only have had ONE BABY! I hate feeling sick. lol

  7. What would it have cost to get a reverse cycle airconditoner installed, Chris? I'd die without ours! Set to 25 it's way cooler than outside and economic to run as it hasn't kicked in the "cold" cycle. I know, everyone says 25 is too hot, but you know, it really isn't! If you're sitting in the way of it for any amount of time, you need a blanket!

  10. I've cut out flour and sweets for the last week and after a few days of withdrawals I feel so much better. I usually eat cottage cheese with some fruit or yogurt for breakfast during the week.

Do they think that maybe your house is just priced too high? Sucks that you are going through this.

  11. Perhaps you could look at marketing your house yourself. You would be more than capable of doing it and would then be able to drop the price on the house as there would be no agent fees. :) Just a suggestion anyway. Have a good day.
