11.03pm last night... and we are just heading off to bed when I hear this noisy car come into the street.... I say to Stew "That's Steve!"... and it was! And he had Mike and Abby with him too!

What a surprise, we soooo did not expect them. So, we had to make up extra beds in a hurry....

How lovely is that eh?

Right, on with the day, it's going to be so neat... friends, family.... BRING IT ON!

GUESS WHAT? We have had a bloody fantastic day... I am totally knackered and will post photos tomorrow..... for now I need to sit down and have a rest!

NSV: Would you believe I had NO naughty nibbles, snack food.... I didn't even have dinner.....but I did have ONE helping of pudding. IT was YUM! nite nite.

ITS A FISH... A BLOODY BIG FISH!

Stew came home last night with my Birthday Present .. early ... isn't it just beautiful? He is a copper snapper, I love him.... have to find a name for him now...

Here he is on the trellis I painted just this week... I didn't think I would be able to get a fish for the wall quite so soon... so I'm wrapt .... THANK YOU DARLING!

I am now on the lookout for some driftwood/seaweed to put on the left side... to balance it out and make it more realistic... not that I'm really trying for realistic... but BALANCE is important.

Today's jobs are to get last minute stuff for the party.... pick up me cake.... make beds ... bla bla bla. All good!

Expecting one of my dearest girlfriends to arrive today from Coromandel too.... I don't think I have seen her in over a year! Lots of yakking ahead I think!

OK... I'm feeling really dizzy... been blowing up balloons... not the nicest job I can tell ya! Shame I couldn't find the thingee that attatches to the vacum so I didn't have to do all the blowing up.

All on track for a good day tomorrow, just need it to STOP RAINING then all would be perfect. We are in deep shit if it is raining tomorrow afternoon!

I feel every inch of me almost 50 years today... tired.

It's a pressy from my BFF Chris D in Palmerston North... I am not opening the card / present inside till sunday. Just seeing that HUGE number (50) made me feel.... OLD! ......Hang on... *grabbing me boob*.... NAH I DON'T "feel" old.... ha ha ha.

ONWARD.....

My hair cut / colour came out really great! So relieved, finding a new and good hairdresser can be so hard! This time I have been extremely lucky to hit the right one first time. AND it cost me $60 LESS than at my previous salon! SCORE.

CARDS: well seems by sunday I will have OVER 50 ! How amazing! I am so touched that so many of you buggers did send me a card! I am getting so much enjoyment out of receiving them, let alone opening them (which I haven't done yet)....

APOLOGIES: I simply have not had time to catch up with me blog reading... if you are feeling like I have neglected you.. I am so sorry! I am having to mark over 185 updated blogs as 'read' cos there is just no way I can get to read them all! I will do better next week I promise.

This weekend is going to be busy, busy, too, so hey I know! Just don't update OK??? Then I won't feel guilty for not popping in and leaving you a nice comment!

End of Day: I have tried and tried to get a 'nice' photo of me hair, but really.... I just look the same (just fatter) ... so nope, no photo today.

NSV: Stew and I are really going to start working together to shift some weight... his visit to the new Doctor just confirmed that we both need to do this for our continuing health. So, we are on a mission... 20 kilos each. It is do-able, it is ! nite nite.

Would ya look at Brylee!! She has long hair! INSTANTLY... thanks to Chris's hair extensions.... lol. She loved them. WE are growing this girl's hair for sure.

TODAY: dunno, kids to school of course, then muck around with Chris... no definite plans. She has to catch a plane to Palmerston North this afternoon....

ONWARD.... Chris and I had a quiet morning at home just chatting etc.. then we went out for lunch (evil burgers) then I dropped her off at the airport... home again and ready to do some serious housework and blog reading later on tonight! Phew there's over 100 blogs to read!

The cards: well I have about 30 now! I am dying to open them! Will put a list up on Monday of those who sent me a card! Love ya's!!!

Just finished the bloody vacuming... well half the house anyway. I still hate vacuming, it's just easier in this new house. Going to give the family left overs for dinner, and me? NOTHING... I'm going to do some EXERCISE tonight... decided BABY STEPS were warranted.... instead of expecting my body to just 'bounce' back quickly.... going to go back to the beginning on the exercise front.

It's a start.

My GORGEOUS niece from Melbourne on me doorstep!!! Totally thrilled to see her, no idea she was coming! How lovely.... shame she isn't going to be here for my party, but she is here for a couple of days and coming back in a week or so... the kids were so happy to see her ...

End of Day: well I had almost caught up on me blog reading... now... going to spend a couple of days with my niece so will be busy again.

I AM GETTING GOOD AT THIS ......

WELL... I tell a lie actually.... I used to always cut my older boy's hair so I have had plenty of practice! Griffin's haircut came out pretty good though, I had never done his hair before! Dunno why.... just always took him to the barber. I think I will be doing the guys haircuts from now on though.

TODAY:

- kids to school (I'm doing the happy dance)

- wash windows (cos they are DIRTY)

- fluff around the house doing friggin housework

- LIE IN THE SUN on me lounger! ...Cos I can.

NIC: I got the seat cushions (squabs) from The BBQ factory, and the sun lounger squab I had to order from Mitre 10 MEGA (where I got the sun lounger from), as they didn't have them unless you specifically ordered them.

The BBQ Factory squabs were a very reasonable price too!

ANYONE would think we were going to have a PARTY eh?? LOL

I did some shopping this morning for this coming weekend's party, and I ordered me Birthday Cake too! Should be pretty, going to be like Brylee's only BLUE of course!

- I havn't managed to get much else done today, washing's out so that's made me feel very virtuous! There is a cool wind so ain't lying in the sun.
Might go have a nana nap, woke at 4 am this morning and didn't really get back to sleep after that. DRAT.

Feeling a bit 'flat' actually.... still got lots to do but NO ENERGY.... I'm too bloody fat me thinks!

No Nap.... started painting a piece of trellis (BLUE of course) to put on the fence and then we will EVENTUALLY get a copper snapper to put on it. Just how hard is it to bloody paint trellis??? Friggin HARD.... I have been at it for over an hour and it's still not done.

Just picked up the kids... am furious with Griffin... he's only gone and drawn (with INK) all over his brand new uniform! I might just whack his arse! Might not help, but it will make ME feel better! (oh and I could get sent to jail for smacking my kid on the bum)... WONDERFUL.

End of Day: didn't smack his bum.... lucky little shit. Finished putting the blue on the trellis, might just add some white now.

NSV: still not doing good on the diet front.. really struggling to stop eating crap. Thought I would be on top of my demons by now, but I'm not. shit shit shit. nite nite.

A DAY OF REST AND RELAXATION!

Can you believe it? We have virtually NOTHING to do today! Goodness only knows what we will get up to.... maybe go shopping, kids need summer school shoes.

The ceiling in 'The Dungeon' is only about 5ft 5inches high, so Stew had to spend a few hours stooped over... the poor bugger. I am 5ft 4 inches tall, perfect for me! He built two shelving units.

Righty HO... on with the day! It's looking good out there....

I think Stew would dispute the 'day of rest' claims! We have been gardening most of the day! I got some tomatoe plants and more strawberry plants and put them in, and Stew put netting around my passionfruit and grape vines to protect them from the kids.... and I put in more of my hydrangea cuttings.

In all a very successful day again.

TOP RIGHT: my hydrangea corner.... I hope at least half of them grow! I love my hydrangeas....

Tomorrow is going to be an EXCELLENT day! The kids go back to school after a LONG LONG two weeks home with me.... silence is going to be BLISS.

I'm hoping we can go and get some wood to make a shelving unit for the storage room today.... and I'm going to get in my sauna a couple of times too, to help with the fluid retention until I can get to the doctor for some more pills.

I'm planning on a better day today!

This morning we went to Sylvia Park... then Stew went off to buy the wood for the 'Dungeon' shelving.... my batteries just ran out, so I'm gunna have a nana nap! later....

End of Day: well I did have a nap, while poor Stew slaved away building shelves.... It is all finished now though, so he can relax cos there is nothing else 'big' to be done around here! WE ARE FINALLY TOTALLY SETTLED IN. woooo hoooo.

So the kids and I went out shopping, picked up some more school uniform, photos, then went to Sylvia Park for lunch, I managed to buy two new t-shirts for summer...now home again. No Wood for the storage room yet... might wait till Stew can come with me.

OH and a card arrived from DAVE and LESLEY... ta so much! Most of the other cards have gone to my ANON Address... so I don't know what has arrived... OR NOT! Time is running out people!

IT BLOODY RAINED DIDN'T IT?

Yesterday it friggin well pissed down (with gale force winds) ... came in sideways it did! I didn't know we had any 'damage' till late last night when I went into our bedroom.... and saw the curtains.... there was something different about them... then it clicked....

They were sopping wet! So was the carpet.... so Stew and I spent a good deal of time mopping up the carpet....

The sliding door thingee at the bottom DOES have two wee drainage holes in it, but they were BLOCKED eh? So now we have to go around the whole house and check all the drainage holes are clear, don't want a repeat performance.

TODAY:

Not sure really, don't need to go anywhere or do much ... housework is always there, stuff it. I might just stay home and (dare I say it?) DO NOTHING???

Well true to my word, I have done bugger all this morning! I fed the kids, straightened my hair and downloaded some more songs for me ipod. THAT'S IT!

And.... it's not raining anymore! Sunshine people! Might go for a walk, scare the kids into moving their friggin legs a bit.

The weather turned a bit nasty shortly after we got home, so luckily we went when we did.

I just got bugged into joining FaceBook... but honestly, I can't see me using it. I find blogging is MY THING.... Facebook looks like just another avenue to keep in touch with your freinds, and I do that ADMIRABLY through the blog or text or yakking on the phone. Just how many ways do you need to keep in touch!

So don't leave me messages cos I probably won't see them! I might pop on there once a month or something! That's it.

End of Day: a mixed bag type of day... got nothing done this morning, but had an excellent afternoon doing ... dusting/vacuming/washing.. and Facebooking! Shan't be doing that much though (Facebook)... takes up too much time!

POOR POOR TEDDY JUST GOT THE FRIGHT OF HIS LIFE! The kids and I popped out to pick up the squab for my Sun Lounger.. and I forgot to put him oustside eh? Well he moved and set off the house alarm! I knew what had happened as I get a phone call on me Mobile when the house alarm goes off.... so I hot footed it back home (10 minute trip) and yep.... Teddy was PETRIFIED and had shit on the carpet by the front door. THE POOR LITTLE BUGGER.... I was not mad at him of course!

All back to 'normal' now, dogs just a little bit DEAF... LOL.

DIET COKE....

Would you believe I went without my beloved DIET COKE for an entire 3 months!!!

WHY??? Cos after my operation I simply could not tolerate it! Last week I had a couple of drinks of Diet Coke while out and about with Kelly... and OH. MY. GOD. .... it didn't taste vile, it didn't give me heartburn, it didn't keep me awake with tummy ache.... I CAN DRINK IT AGAIN!!!

I am SURE that the alternative I have been drinking (Just Juice and water) has not been helping in the weight loss efforts (such as they are).... I AM GOING BACK TO MY DIET COKE .... I know it isn't the best drink on the planet...but if it was totally EVIL they wouldn't be able to sell it eh? That's my reasoning, and I'm sticking to it. FULL. STOP. END. OF. STORY.

No one is allowed to lecture me on this.... cos I can just IGNORE YOU! And I will.

- into town to pay for camera Memory Card that I bought on Trademe.
- Get Birthday Card for girlfriends in Aussy (HI BRIONY and MELLISA!).
- Morning Tea with Lynda and her wee grandson F.

After that, who knows? Might come home and blob out! (with a Diet Coke of course!)


MARSHY: Ahhhh.... but cigarettes are sold with HEALTH WARNINGS plastered all over them, and we see HEALTH WARNINGS on the TV too! Diet Coke does not come with any HEALTH WARNINGS eh? I rest my case.....

The kids and I have had a wonderful morning, we went into Manurewa and did a banking job, then on to Sylvia Park for some CARDS for some girlfriends in Aussy... then off to visit Lynda and her grandson 'F' for morning tea.

We spent a happy couple of hours chatting away, and I don't know how we got onto the topic of TV, and taping shows... BUT WE DID ... and Lynda told me all about MY SKY and how you never have to miss your favourite programmes again, and how you can pause a live programme etc etc!!!
I WAS HOOKED....


So rang Stew right there and then and asked him "could we PLEASE get MY SKY?" .... I do believe we will.... Here is Lynda holding the EVIL WEE REMOTE .. that does EVERYTHING! I'm blaming her for making me spend hundreds of dollars!!!

I'VE GOT ITCHY TITS BECAUSE.....

Stew made me cut his hair yesterday.... he decided (Thank God!) that it was looking a bit untidy... and asked me to chop it all off.... I couldn't have been MORE HAPPY to do so! He had this bloody awful part happening down the middle of his head with it being a bit longer.. I HATED IT! It looked UNTIDY...and we all know I hate things to be untidy.

So, here he is ... all shorn and TIDY...

WHAT. A. SPUNK. And he's all mine..... ha ha ha! (He's going to tell his workmates I was mad at him and chopped it all off after he came home on Friday night drunk as a skunk!) ... as if!

Not a lot planned .... have to hang around this morning as I'm expecting an electrician to arrive to put some extra power points in the garage so we can plug in the treadmill/exercycle/sewing machine etc without resorting to extension cords and multi-boxes.
After that I'm really hoping it's fine enough to go for a walk with the kids in the park... I still havn't been to the local one. later then....
Pfffft... it's pissin down with rain... not going for a walk obviously. The electricians are here doing the job in me garage, suppose I can go annoy them.... I do that well.

Stew was a bit surprised when I read out me title.... he said "You're NOT going to put that on are you?"... ummm, why not? I do have itchy tits afterall! lol

Alrighty, what can I get up to this afternoon? It's wet and cold still.....


I found something to do! I have been editing my blogroll.... took a few off, put a few on... you know how it goes. Hope I'm up to date now! If I have missed you let me know. I'd hate to upset anyone! ONWARD... I'm freezing now and need to move me butt to warm up!

End of Day: Stew home late tonight... salad and steak for dinner... all good here.

YARD WORK TODAY FOR SURE

****NO SHOPPING TODAY!****

We have jobs to do.....

- Stew has to finish off the fence

- I want to plant the grapes and the hydrangeas I bought with me from Palmerston North

- Stew has to dig in the compost so I can get and plant some tomatoes

LAST NIGHT... I forgot to get a photo of Sandie and myself! What a slack blogger! I did, however, get one of the guys at the BBQ:

Stew and 'J' ... bottles in hand.... doing what guys do best.... cooking! YEAH RIGHT! LOL. This was our FIRST BBQ of the season.....it was lovely.

WE have done well today.... got all the jobs done that we wanted to:

Our Weathervane is up!!! This took 2 years to get done in our last home.

The safety fence is finished.... and...

I made this corner safe too. "Sittwe" looks rather happy there! Sittwe is our little concrete man, named for a little place in Burma. Don't ask me why, I just thought he looked kinda Burmese.

End of Day: pleased to say my days are all GREAT at the moment! How awesome is that?

NSV: scored a new Memory Card for my camera off Trademe... I can now take hhmmmmmm..... about 1,680 photos before I run outta room! ha ha ha! nite nite.
