MONDAY AT HOME

Some snaps I took before leaving Australia...

ABOVE:  In the ward Lorraine was in, there was a wall of photos of staff's pets.   Mostly cats and dogs...  and these:

ABOVE: Two fish from I have to presume, the same family.  Linguine and Fettucine.  And then there was...

ABOVE:   LOUISE.   That one just cracked me up!  I was sniggering to be honest.
WHO names a fish any of those three names???

ABOVE: This was an atrium at the PA (Princess Alexandra) Hospital.  It was lovely.  I actually thought the hospital was really well laid out, clean, tidy and easy to navigate around.

ABOVE:  The only Diet Coke I got in a glass bottle.  It was a bottle shape I'd never encountered before.  I almost brought it home, but yeah, nah.

ABOVE:  Brisbane City skyline at night.  Very pretty.

ABOVE:  Last sight of Australian land, as we flew out.

ABOVE: First sight of land, as we flew into New Zealand.

ABOVE: Circling over Manukau harbour, getting ready to land yesterday afternoon.

I've decided LANDING is definitely worse than take offs.   I was stamping on the brakes as we landed!  Scary shit.

Now.  Today I shall be doing some washing, unpacking my bag, then going out to do a few little jobs.

Back later.

9.45 am, and I have finally got all the morning jobs done.

OH MY GOD it is so cold!   I have the heat pump on, I just can't move when I'm this cold.

I think the insulation in this house might need looking at, and perhaps even retrofit double glazing.  It is THAT cold in here.  It's warmer OUTSIDE I swear.

I am about to put some face on and go out and about, do some jobs that need doing.

Then I'll come home and potter around here again.

I do not like take off and landing either. And I stomp the brakes too. Ha. I hope the swelling you've encountered has gone down some. Ky Girl

I have a long history of sleeping thru takeoffs. I tend to fall asleep once I get settled in my seat and then wake up a while after we are to cruising height. I can’t explain it.

It's always warmer outside my house than in. My power bill will be through the roof because we've had the heater on a lot this winter. We have a mutual FB friend, and she and I share a long-time friend who underwent a liver transplant a few years ago. I believe she was in the same hospital. She often goes back for check ups and such there, so she knows it very well. xx Colleen
